Hired an expensive vehicle from SFO airport due to having two kids and wanting a safe car. Car hired smelt of Marijuana and on the second day of hire my seven year old child found a bag of Marijuana in the back of the seat of the driver side seat. Absolutely unacceptable standard of care and also disgusting and have had no response from the company or refund provided to date. PROMISED A FULL REFUND OVER EMAIL AND STILL HASNT BEEN PROVIDED - NO RESPONSE AFTER BEING ASKED TO PROVIDE BANK DETAILS. UNACCEPTABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE NOT TO MENTION ILLEGAL TREATMENT OF CUSTOMERS.

Had an BMW X6 for our honeymoon Roadtrip. The car was perfect and didn’t have a single issue during the 4,300 miles.We arrived an hour early for our reservation, but we didn’t have to wait.The return was also very easy and fast.Would definitely rent at Sixt again.

One of the best car rental locations in the area. Sixt is by far the most superior and most luxurious rental car agency in the United States. This location is exceptionally efficient and the team is great. Shoshana was extremely helpful with my rental pick up and drop off. If you see her at this location, definitely go speak to her! Highly recommended.

Really friendly and efficient staff. Long queue when I arrived to collect car, but they put two extra staff behind the desk so only waited 15 minutes. Collection and drop off was quick and easy and staff were very pleasant and welcoming. Car in great condition. Would definitely use them again for car rental.

Summary:1) Deceptively sold an upgrade2) Car STANK of marijuanaFirst, the counter salesman told me that they were out of the type of car I had a reservation for and tried to sell me on an upgrade. He told me that it would only be an "extra $70". Because my reservation was for 5 days for $350, I was led to believe that my rental would now be approx. $420. Imagine the sticker shock when I got the invoice for $733!Second, the car soon began to stink of weed. Not just that someone had once smoked a joint in there weeks ago, but closer to Snoop Dogg hotboxing in the car. It was as if all the weed in San Francisco had been smoked in the car. It was stomach turning and if we did not have the windows down, I would get a headache. A bag of tobacco leaves for blunt wraps was left in the car as well- indicating the level of detail (or lack thereof) of the cleaning process.I contacted Customer Service over a week ago and, aside from an immediate automated response, I have heard nothing from Sixt.

just nowNEWYou need to be very careful with this shady agency. In December, we rented a car and took pictures of the car's condition before leaving the rental place. When we returned the car, a prejudiced individual handling the returns falsely claimed damage that we didn't cause to the car. Now, a collection agency is hounding us for $800 in repair costs for damages we didn't inflict, even though we have evidence. I must say, it seems their employees are biased, especially when they might target Hispanics or individuals they perceive as easy targets. It was a terrible experience. I don't recommend anyone renting a car with this sneaky company.

Long lines but, excellent customer service from Brigitte.My gas tank was not full so that was a little disappointing.There is a dent in the drivers door but, excellent car.

The office booth people are so welcoming and forthcoming with any and all questions I had. They are knowledgeable of the city, recommending picturesque places to visit upon my request were much appreciated. The vehicle rented was exceptional, what a memorable experience, thanks sixt!

Dont. Ever. Rent. From. Sixt.First the good: Now the bad: I reserved a BMW X3 - specifically because I needed the space of the crossover, but did not want a bigger vehicle. Otherwise I would have rented a large SUV from another agency for much less. The "Sixt promise" is that I will receive the exact car I ordered. The subtle lie is that it can be any car within the same class. The not so subtle lie is that when you show up, and your car is not available, and there is no similar cars in its class, you'll be required to check in at the counter (no mobile check-in sorry) and will be asked if you want to upgrade your ride for $50 more a day!No, I don't want to, thank you. After waiting forever the salesperson finally said they are upgrading me free of charge to the X5. Yay, except I wanted the smaller vehicle to begin with -_- I'm just glad we finally got a vehicle to use for our trip.Upon returning the vehicle however, we were slapped with a hefty $300 upgrade fee :) You know, the one they offered for free, since they couldn't fulfill their original commitment 'guarantee'! I had to fight this by email, because it's the only way to contact them. And they told me they were extending a "a onetime goodwill gesture" -seriously, wtf? Oh and two weeks later they email me again to say the found damage on the car! Ok, lets see the proof that this didn't happen in the two week period you continued to rent the car. Or that the damage wasn't there to begin with (because it was). Thank god I took pictures of some of the many scratches and dings on the car, just in case they pulled some sketchy business like this. TLDR; Avoid like the plague unless you like being lied to, cheated, and having your time wasted.

We have used this location over 6 times over the years. I'm not sure if it's luck but we have never had any issues. The car we reserved has been there, once they upgraded us for free. The cars are clean and we have not any mechanical issues either. The location use to be off the airport so that was an added 15-20 mins but now it's located on the directly by at the car directly which was really convenient. Everyone has been friendly, yes of course they try to up sell you it's not pushy thou. It's a business so you can't blame them for trying. They haven't tried saying the car is damaged or fees for gas etc etc. we will keep using them and I would recommend them.

0 Do not rent your car from SIXT! I rent all my cars from National and am an executive elite member. I was d*** enough to try this rental agency. BEWARE and read others review as there seems to be a common theme after the car has been returned. I received an updated invoice for a $500 smoking fee and $250 excessive cleaning. Imagine my surprise upon receiving this bill since I don't smoke. I also received pictures of two empty brown bags of trash and a water bottle as the reason excessive cleaning. Nothing spilled, trashed, no bodily fluids, just three items of trash. Do not use them! Do not use them! I repeat do not use them! I learned my lesson and will never cheat on National again!

We went to San Francisco Airport to pick up our beauty. Joseph F. was kind enough to get us an upgrade to a BMW. However, when we went to pick up the car it had a slight odor so the Agent in pick up change us out for an SUV. SIXT is an upscale car rental and I'm so happy they're in the Bay.

I had a great experience booking on the spot. I was looking for an electric vehicle. Shoshana helped me figure out the class I needed too book, but it was a bit over my budget. She upgraded me in order of me to book the car I wanted, which was surprising and very kind. It allowed me experience my first electric car a Volvo EX40 in mint condition.
