My family recently moved from the bay area to Fresno and were referred to Rudy Garcia and Universal Movers. They really came through for us, they were professional from the start. Rudy answered my call right away, scheduled our onsite estimate and supplied us with all the information we would need in order to prepare for moving day.On moving day, their staff worked carefully and were very attentive to our special needs with no attitude or hesitation.Moving can be a stressful experience but Universal made it easy. Delivery was on time and settling onsite was also easy.If you need a dependable moving company, look no further.

It's one thing to reject an applicant, it's another thing to admit to just "wasting your time". He kept saying odd nonsense and was acting completely incompetent at first. Bob. Put up a bad ad on Craigslist that failed to list requirements, too. "It's not that you're not a nice lady," he said. What the hell? I think he was trying to make me sound d*** by putting words in my mouth.

This moving company is incredibly bad. They lost 25 boxes of our art and books and tried to blame everyone else. Only after dogging them for weeks were our goods discovered - in their warehouse. Then when they were 3 days from the last day in our confirmed and reconfirmed and re-reconfirmed delivery window, they advised us that the goods hadn't been shipped and wouldn't even be picked up for weeks. Once again they blamed everyone else. Horrible. Joe Dworetzky

They were pretty good overall. On time, didn't break anything. The only complaint is they called to make sure we knew they accepted and needed tips, constantly complained about his/ her wages.

Working with Universal Movers was great and I would do it again for our next move. The guys that came out with the truck were very professional, friendly, and incredibly hardworking. They did a really great job with the move.

We recently helped my father-in-law move from Millbrae to Lakeport. He is 94, and though pretty healthy, was not up to packing and physically moving his entire household. We contacted Universal and received a call back from Rudy very soon. We made an appointment for a virtual tour of the apartment. It was so easy. We got an estimate the very next day. He kept contact with us throughout the move. Their workers were professional and courteous. Within three days they packed, loaded and unloaded everything. No breakage, no scratches, no problems. We would highly recommend this company if you need professional movers.

Antonio is a true professional with an incredibly professional attitude. I had him orchestrate a move from a 7,000 sq foot home to a 13,000 sq foot home with loads of china, wine, furniture... We kept changing where we wanted things placed and how much we needed moved. Antonio and his crew never lost their cool. Amazing. They worked into the night-it was a 4 four day move. Never did they complain or look tired-though they had to be. I can't stress enough that I would use this company for any size move. Very Competitive bid. A+ in every area.

Got on several calls with this company to get a quote for our move from one city to its neighboring city. The driving distance is 20 minutes. We are two people living in a small 1BR apartment and do not have many furnitures. In the call to survey our furnitures, we let them know we would pack up everything on our own, and that we would even get rid of/sell a few furnitures before the move. The quote? $~3000! Crew size 4! Estimate 8 hours. Really? It takes 4 people 8 hours to move a 1BR apartment across town? By the way, this quote also includes fuel and driving time, which their competitors do not do. What a waste of our time. Hard pass.

I am giving one star because they were in extreme hurry to finish the job. The crew themselves selected a day before major holiday and all they wanted was to finish asap and leave. They didn't attach the mirror to dresser saying it's very complex. Broke a part and no one ever got back to see how to fix that issue. They were extremely unprofessional. Called them multiple times for follow. Unhelpful and basically really bad customer service .

I concur with the previous reviewer. Friendly at the front end of the business but rude, condescending and dismissive at the back end. Many reassurances that they are experts at handling antiques. They are not! End of August I did multiple face time walk throughs with the scheduling person and pointed out the item that was of most concern. Sept 5th I stood by the packing moving crew and reiterated how delicate and important the heirloom antique Japanese Silk screen was to me and they assured me they would treat it like my baby. Unfortunately quite the opposite as it arrive with a hole punched through the box and the internal frame had pushed through tearing the silk . When I called to complain, Bob Sheahan implied that I had done the damage, that the screen was worth maybe $1-$100 , and that "I shouldn't get in a lather " talking the damage. October he emailed the insurance claim form and I sent it back and was assured they"would be right on it". One month later Bob is ignoring me hoping I will just go away as he sends messages through his minions . Today (Dec 1st) his messenger says that Bob offered me $250.00 ( the screen is valued at $5,000) . I will wait for their insurance company response as Bob is clueless. Bob needs customer service training or possibly a different job. As for the crew - Luis, Roberto, Jose, and Jesus you need more training re caring for real antiques and how to move them with care. Dont use this company.

They should get negative stars. They sourced out our job, over priced and didn't send the right size truck. We had to end up getting our own uhaul. They were unprofessional and treated our items poorly.
