Where do I even start! My son has been attending higher learning Academy since he was 5 months back in 2020 , now soon to be 4 in September. From day one HLA has been the best choice for for learning and development for my son. it’s a very clean and welcoming environment . They are VERY invested in the well being of your child. From speech , potty training, fine motor skills and much more . They spoil my son (obviously all the children too)! HLA is very hands on with me as a parent, they provided me with all the tools to help my son with his developmental delays. They want to see your child blossom into greatness. I 1000% recommend Higher Learning Academy for All your child care needs!

Where do i begin. I brought my my kids here for 1DAY. There are many other reviews in the *do not recommend* section. Make sure to read all of them. First thing you will notice is very messy, i put that aside because the administration treated me with tons of respect showed me the class room as they were in the middle of cleaning. Fast forward to first and only day, as i was dropping off my kids the first thing you will notice is too many kids, so little staff. Super unorganized. I was dropping my kids off and i notice a teacher grabbing onto 2 kids by their wrist a little aggressive. * notice there is past reviews on hitting kids** i saw that after i took them out. Walking into the 2 year old room, I'm putting my sons water bottle in their designated area, there was a sippy cup with MOLD. Now it's pick up time, it's my first day and they advertise they are open until 6. I am still Learning my route to the school and i get there at 6:04. Mind you at 6:00 i was already getting a call by the 5 year old teacher WHICH SHE IS EXTREMELY RUDE. I DONT KNOW HOW SHE IS STILL WORKING THERE. the 3 days i have visited she's always ALWAYS scolding her kids. Do you not like working with kids? Find a new job if you're going to be taking it out ON CHILDREN. I heard her yell at kids. When i showed up 4 minutes late, i apologized and she kept repeating "we close at 6 i will be charging you a late fee." Okay, that's no problem, it was my fault for being a bit late and i apologize, but it's my kids first day. That is how the closing teacher talking to a NEW parent? Do i trust you with my kids? ABSOLUTELY NOT. My sons co-teacher proceeded to tell me that my son did awesome! And in the middle, the rude teacher(i don't remember her name) blurts out "well i don't know how your daughters day was because her teacher leaves at 5:30" nobody informed me my daughters teacher would be leaving at 5:30. She then proceeded to tell me to change my work schedule. Okay, don't advertise to be open until 6 if you're going to be bothered when a parent shows up at 6. Also, please tell her to learn when to stop running her mouth, you will get into problems one day if you continue talking to parents like that. i really had to hold my tongue and keep it respectful because i didn't want any problems with my kids new school on their first day, especially if there's a chance she would be left alone with my kids. My kids got home and my son came home with his shorts smelling like URINE and had a mild diaper rash. I asked my daughter what she ate, she has been in a previous daycare before, she is very intellegent. she tells me EVERYTHING to what she did, what she eats, if her brother got time outs, etc. she tells me EVERYTHING. I ask her what did you eat at school? She says cereal. Okay, what about lunch? "Cereal mommy, twice " they came home STARVING. I asked her if she wrote her name, no. Color? No. Sing the ABCs? no. What did you do? I played on the play ground and took a nap. ALL DAY??? Next day i immediately told administration about the rude teacher, she apologized and said it was unacceptable, i told her about my son smelling like urine, all she could do was apologize. I told her my daughter only ate cereal, she said it wasn't a cereal day. I saw cereal when i dropped them off right at breakfast time. All they could do was apologize because they know their care is not up to standards. I'll give you advice, find teachers who love kids, want to see kids succeed, keep a clean and ORGANIZED space for them, and not scolding their kids. ONE DAY. My kids were there for ONE DAY.Do not take your kids here, don't let them fool you with they are under the San Diego board of education, they all are. They get a visit once a year, that is when they will try to organize their things but on an every day basis this place is a MESS.

I worked here. It was always chaotic. And they hit children! And we raised $5,000 to rebuild the playground and it’s still the same way. It’s sad that they used the kids for this fundraiser and they didn’t even benefit from it.

My daughter has been going there since she was two and by the time she entered kindergarten, she was ahead of her class with reading and writing skills. The staff is friendly and always puts the child's needs first. I truly enjoy this school. If you are looking for an affordable and safe place for your chid, I truly recommend this place!
