Please don't send your kid here, I'm protecting my identity to write this so that parents who actually CARE ABOUT THEIR CHILDREN can read an actual experience from a former student who's not gonna hide any truths... Please consider the following things before sending them here...I loved going to school here only because I grew up in this neighborhood with everyone. Certain things about this school may have changed because I went there 2010-2012 but there's problems in the community and school that I know for a FACT are still active.1.There's a huge sex trafficking problem in Spring Valley/Skyline/La Presa areas and everyone that grew up here, gets exposed to it. They call it a "lifestyle" and it's everywhere. Everyone had friends who did it, or even sisters or cousins or family in that life. If not, they had a cousin or brother from Skyline and they pimp. Like I said, it was everywhere all around us. Sadly, a lot of the girls I grew up with had no guidance and were easily tempted by fast money. I remember being shocked when I saw SO MANY of the girls in my school listed on the back page, the same ones I always assumed were lucky enough to have parents who could afford to have them come to school with a new outfit and accessories everyday... That was my first exposure lol. Bruh I was so naive. Also, it was extremely common for dudes to TRY to convince you they were interested in getting to know you, date you, etc for the sole purpose of eventually TRYING to manipulate you into "making money with them" AKA PIMP YOU. Y'all ain't slick.2. Skyline Piru has a huge presence at this school 1000%, there's a reason the school colors are RED and black. (and another reason for the prostitution problem in the community) Everyone here knows it's a blood school, they go here and so do all their nephews, cousins, brothers, etc. Crips know better than to go here (facts) Not one soul has or ever will say crackin or cuz there. Ever. Everyone knows.Luckily I grew up in the neighborhood with the right people so I know and saw how it was firsthand... Because they were the homies. But just know if your kid isn't "like them" or a "square" (aka a student who goes to all their classes and does their work, you know NORMAL) then they are an easy target. They will bang on them to intimidate them (ask where they are from) And from then on they will get messed with, and bully'd every time they see your kid.3. WEED IS SO EASY TO GET HERE AND EVERYONE SMOKES ON CAMPUS - AND YES I'm talking to YOU, BYRON. (The security guard or whatever)4. Just know if your kid goes here and is a "do gooder" or has a kind pure heart, DON'T send them here. Like I said, if you are a "square" or even attempt to go to class, pay attention, and do your work, you WILL get bullied and messed with. There's a reason for the low graduation rate here, myself along with so many of my classmates dropped out as it was super normal here. Even the teachers got bullied so they sort of just let the students do want they want. We literally ran the classroom. I felt so bad everytime we got a sub.I don't care if you live in spring valley and it's nearby, if you CARE about your child's innocence or don't want them exposed to this life, don't send them here. I'm serious. I was a sensitive child who had no choice but to grow up in a hostile environment, and had no choice but to adapt to my surroundings, force myself to stop feeling empathy, befriend dangerous people in order to protect myself from getting fucked with, but became a product of my environment in the process of doing so. I never did my work or went to class because I didn't want to be a "square" and get f***** with. Almost 30 years old now, and all the same girls I went to school with that used to be on backpage I follow on social media, and guess what - they are still doing that same thing living in the same gang ridden hood 2 bedroom traphouse (with room

This school the students need to focus more on the education, because I came here with my boyfriend and him looking like a gangster these boys try to jump him it's like we're not trying to start any problems here we were just trying to mind own business and pick up my little cousin.

Great School but times were very very different when I graduated in 1997. The school was old at that time bathrooms were old. No air conditioning in the math departments. The staff was great most have retired one I stay in contact with Chris Nelson a true legend at Mount Miguel. The old principal Steve Coover my family worked under him while Mr Coover was principal at La Presa Middle in the early 90's. Mr Cekander was a new math teacher in 97 and he is still there good guy! Just a lot of good good memories especially senior year before the freeway was built it was a different time.

This school still stands up to its name, Mount Mcghetto. The fact the principal thinks the school is doing better than in the in past is mind boggling. This 2018/19 school year there has already been 11+ fights. The school just resumed yesterday and already there was a fight with a kid who picked on a student who was sitting by herself. The fights that happen at this school represents the principal. He could give two poops what happens to the students. Staff is lazy. Teen drivers constantly peel out of parking lot near football-field where there is no adult supervision to ensure kids safety. Horrible school would not recommend. I give this school 0 stars
