Stanford Golf Course is a well-maintained, classic course known for its natural challenges and beautiful setting near Palo Alto. The course has a traditional layout, with the front nine being somewhat straightforward, while the back nine offers better views and more challenging holes with risk-reward shots. The fairways are manicured, and the greens roll true and fast, providing an enjoyable experience for golfers of all skill levels. The thick fescue grass in the rough makes accuracy important, as balls can be lost or difficult to recover. The course is friendly for walking and offers a solid challenge for good players, especially on longer par 4s and par 5s. The pace of play is generally good, and the course is clean and professionally maintained. It operates in an old-school style, which adds to its charm. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the pro shop is well equipped, though some feel it could have more items. There are also good practice areas, including a grass driving range with a water station and clubs cleaning, along with a small putting area. Additional amenities include a tasty restaurant and bar, ample parking, and a golf cart with GPS for yardages and course layout. While it is mostly reserved for alumni, Stanford employees, and members, visitors with invitations find it a rewarding and fun course to play. Overall, Stanford Golf Course offers a great golfing experience with a mix of natural beauty and traditional challenge.

Great course. Greens were recently plugged so putting was a little slow. Love the layout!

They run this place old school, but that’s what makes it great. Amazing course and worth the alumni association fee. Wish the pro shop had more items.Of course they have some great practice areas also. The fairway rough is very thick and lost several balls which was deemed findable.Classic layout and natural challenges.
