Great course. Greens were recently plugged so putting was a little slow. Love the layout!

They run this place old school, but that’s what makes it great. Amazing course and worth the alumni association fee. Wish the pro shop had more items.Of course they have some great practice areas also. The fairway rough is very thick and lost several balls which was deemed findable.Classic layout and natural challenges.

Played 2/4/24 @ 11:10 AM2 HCPOverall: Solid collegiate track winding through the edge of Palo Alto. Probably overpriced for guests but amazing deal for students.Greens: Excellent, roll true and fastDesign: front 9 is a bit pedestrian in my opinion, but the back 9 made up for it with some great views and challenging risk reward shots. Very walkable. Challenging enough for good players but playable for all skill levels.Staff: GreatNo driving range, you have to use the campus practice facility.Would definitely go back!

I finally was able to play this course. My friend's spouse works for Stanford and he invited us to play as guests. This is not a public course and I noticed that players are either alumni, Stanford employees, or members. I'm grateful to my golf buddy for inviting us. I want to rate this course on the conditions of the golf course and the challenges any golfers face on each hole. Depending on your handicaps, it can be hard as well as rewarding. My group played on the white tees and we had a lot of par 4 covering more than 400 yards. Par 5s are more than 500 yards and Par 3s are 120-160 yards. The fairway is well-maintained and manicured. If you can see your ball on the fairway, it will be easy to take your 2nd or 3rd shot to the green. However, if you go inside the green side bunker, taking out takes a lot of skill as the majority are very deep. The greens are very fast and I had a lot of 3 putts. Watch out for your chips as the ball can run past the hole and you'll see yourself putting another 10-20 ft. We enjoyed the course and had a lot of fun playing. We paid $160 including the cart. The pace of the play was good. We're done within 4 hours. The golf cart also has a GPS that tells you the yardage and the hole layout. I will come back here again if I get invited again.

To the man who was patrolling the entrance on April 29th at noon: I came to Stanford as a prospective CS MBA student after a successful career as a tech executive in Mexico. When you ask someone what country they're from, your response should never be "I'm sorry to hear that," as if you knew me enough to make such a terrible joke. Over 1800 students that attend Stanford are Latino, and I'm sure you would never make that sort of racist comment to them if they were of white heritage. It's a shame you were the first person I encountered, but thankfully, today was admissions weekend, and I saw the brilliant minds who will soon run that campus coming from all walks of life. I understand your comment reflects an insecurity you have and a complete ignorance of Mexican culture. I look forward to submitting my application and adding to the Latino student body, so you'll have to see my face every weekend. I, on the other hand, am very inclusive and invite you to come visit our beautiful PGA golf courses so you can see that Mexico is a beautiful country with a lot of heart and one hell of a handicap.
