Horrible looking establishment the two girls just sitting behind the front desk need some help when obviously they don't care at all for the animals but all the cages are cloudy and smells horrible the reptiles need help most of their bugs are dead and in bad conditions their humidity is not monitored at all everything from the pay 2.00 to feed the turtles are dusty and not cleaned at all the place needs new management for sure

You can tell this is an older establishment, but they have been serving the community since 1994 and I can't help but to give them props for encouraging RESPONSIBLE REPTILE OWNERSHIP. THEY WILL NOT SELL YOU TURTLES UNLESS SHOWN PROOF OF A PROPER SET UP. I know there are so many places out there that will do anything to make a quick buck, but in having this policy, you can see that they truly do care about the welfare of the animals and their futures. Huge props for that and I was happy to see it. They also had pre-built bioactive enclosures in varying sizes too and some reptiles I don't usually see at shops, such as their Chinese Water Dragon up close (not for sale though, shop pet) and HUGE Leachianus geckos (the shop's breeders). A nice variety of geckos too and they have spiders and feeders. You can also feed their aquatic turtles for $2 and take a look at their tortoise in shop. I'm happy it's not just a shop of only beardies and leopard geckos (though I love them too). Fun short stop to take a look at some cold blooded cuties.

place is in horrible condition, everything is dirty and every tank is cloudy. every lizard is sitting there looking like it's dying. looks like 50 mealworms are dumped in a bowl and not changed for a week and molting. the place smells bad and there's dirt and dust where it shouldn't be. most of the reptiles don't have the right lighting if they have any at all. employees were laughing behind the counter and nobody approached us, this place needs help and so do the reptiles.

I was very excited to check out a reptile store by me, and I am really sad to say this was not the best. I saw a bearded dragon with thousands of bugs in its enclosure, even visibly walking all over his body. Animals were sitting in feces, had greens that were going bad in their enclosures and many looked sick. The chameleons were in sad conditions and some were sitting in ways indicating illness, and overall I just saw more unhealthy and unhappy reptiles than happy ones. I hate to give a bad review but Reptile Island needs to know that their store is sad, and they need to do better! I was so shocked that I didnt approach anyone when I was in there, but please clean your enclosures and do some research on the animals you are selling!

The chick that helped us was chill. Fun place to visit. We bought a feeder rat as our new office pet. Rumer had to wait in the whip.

Pretty great experience overall. Staff is helpful and nice. They seem to be knowledgeable of their products, feeders, and pets. Prices of some stuff can be higher than other places, but I find that heat bulbs are cheaper here compared to Petco or PetSmart. I recommend this reptile island for your exotic pet needs!

Highly recommended for its big selection of pets & feeders as well as the friendly and helpful staff. Good reptile shops are hard to find - yes I'm mid aged and have been involved in exotic pets for a very long time, especially with my mom being a retired science teacher. Anyhow, I go out of my way to come to this place instead of the one which is closer to my house. I'm not sure why anyone would give it less than 4 or 5 stars. It's not going to be like Petco lol! I really like the tall guy who helps out when we have questions or need assistance. They are a pleasant staff and not pushy or conceited. It's a nice place. Good prices. The animals are not overcrowded and are well maintained. Hoping to get more pets there!! If you need hard to find feeding supplies this is definitely the place for you.

Came here today to buy a few blue tomato caterpillars for my boys (two years old and six years old) and I could not believe they have millipedes!!!! I bought a texas gold millipede and the gal who helped us was SO knowledgeable, kind, attentive, and very accomodating with the *five* kids we came in with (all under 9 years old). That meant a lot. Millipedes are SO hard to find and I am so happy with ours! The store is surprisingly fresh for being a reptile store, some can get really stinky, almost unbearable, but this was probably the most mild shop I've ever been to. The frog selection was WILD, truly some crazy looking little guy's, I've never seen such an array. All of the monitors, tegus, snakes, and lizards I saw looked happy, healthy, and alert. Seriously all of them. Reptile stores are all over LA/OC but I will absolutely be coming back here! Thank you guys so much. Really appreciate the millipede gal today :)

We boarded our bearded dragon for $10 a day. She came back happy and healthy, I would certainly drop her off again. It reminded us of the reptile store we got her from originally. They seemed to tske very good care of their animals. The only thing that isn't so great is the parking lot. It's not paved too well.

If they sell you something and it dies before you can get it home, your out of luck. They will offer no refund or exchange. They would rather lose business then fix a simple mistake...buy at your own risk.. good luck.
