I'm preparing my CocoPuff to travel to Hawaii by having all her vaccinations and proper blood test for rabies and the staff helped a great deal. The staff is so good with Coco, they're gentle and caring. I would certainly recommend you bring your pet to California Dog & Cat Hospital.

Everyone is extremely caring. They never try to overcharge you.
Doctor honestly will recommend certain tests but not just do Unnecessary tests. And he gives a senior discount. And a discount for paying cash. Doctor John and Dr Kim are good doctors. They communicate well and treats your animal with such kindness. His staff are very nice to you and very compassionate and very knowledgeable.

I have been taking my dogs here since I was a teen. And now 15 years later I come back with and issue I'm having with one of my cats. The staff here although new welcomed me and was very helpful and caring with the problem I was having. Thanks guys.... P.s it was nice to see my doctor was still here. He is awesome, helped me with all 5 of my dogs many many years ago......

Unlike other vet, we didn’t have to leave our puppy for a couple days. We’re able to get him the same day. The crop turned out fantastic for our Cane Corso. Would definitely drive 3 hours again to get our new pup’s ears done.

Dr. Kim is a master when it comes to cropping ears! So happy I didn't have to travel too far! The front staff is very friendly! Definitely recommend this place! Quick healing and no issues! My dobermans ears look so good and I didn't have to post them for too long. Worth every penny!

Great communication from start to finish! I came from Modesto to bring my toy poodle here to have his teeth cleaned and they did a wonderful job...they communicated with me by phone when they came across a cyst that I didn't realize had gotten so big. They gave me the option to have it removed, which I did. I appreciated them asking and being transparent with the cost. There were no hidden costs involved which was very nice! The veterinarian and the staff were very professional. The aftercare was explained very well. I really appreciated the text after the procedure was completed letting me know it went great! There is a deposit required when you schedule a dental cleaning but I can understand why. Their prices are VERY reasonable. I was VERY pleased...especially with their communication. Definitely 5 stars!

I arrived early for my dog's appointment to find that the neighborhood was rougher than expected. There was road construction in front of the business blocking what appeared to be the one and only spot for street parking. As I headed down the side street of auto shops and junkyards mixed in with rundown late 20th century homes I began to brood. I found a spot to park and waited a few minutes until it was closer to my appointment time. Just as I exited my car, I saw a huge, loose German Shepherd walking near the back of my car. I stood and watched as he sauntered westward down Worth Street causing the myriad of dogs along the way, chained in yards and in cages and running loose in yards, to explode in barking, growling, jumping aggression towards him. Think of the Fresh Fish scene in Shawshank redemption. The shepherd was completely unphased. I waited for him to reach California before taking my 15lb dog out of the car. We walked very quickly down the middle of the street to our own chorus of maniacal barking and rushed inside the California Cat and Dog Hospital. When the door closed behind me, I attempted a deep breath of relief but the smell of ammonia, and other unknown and unpleasant odors, began immediately burning my nostrils. My disillusionment was growing rapidly as I walked up to the front counter and gave my name an appointment time. I looked to my left and saw a bulletin board with a photo of Dr. Kim that had a quote from him saying "Every pet that comes into the clinic is my pet!" and I immediately started to feel better. After a few minutes, his son Dr. John brought us back and I explained why we were there and what we needed. I noticed immediately that he was very kind and attentive. He actually physically examined my dog and listened to her chest and back with his stethoscope. He walked us through our options and was instead of presenting us with an estimate listing every fee, he advised us the approximate cost and was willing to be flexible with blood tests and some exams that weren't absolutely necessary at the moment because he understands they can be costly. We decided to to everything he advised regardless of cost and he was able to take our pup in and take care of her. When she started to come out of anesthesia, the staff called us and we were able to get there right away to pick her up. We were very surprised at the affordable cost, even with all the of things that were done. We also asked for pain medication for her and were given a little to take home at no extra cost. We could not have been happier with the care we received at California Dog & Cat Hospital! This place is so great that it was suggested we keep it to ourselves, but there can be no gatekeeping, especially with care like this so I had to write this review. I realize it is lengthy and possibly overly descriptive, but I think it was important because if you are willing to endure the location and the smells, you will be rewarded with gentle, affordable care for your fur babies. P.S. I logged in to write this on Feb 12 and they have updated/notified yelp that they will be closed (Lunar New Year). Most businesses can't even be bothered to put in their correct regular hours on the site so it's just another reminder of the thoughtfulness of the doctors here. I am so happy we found this place.

First time here and it was a great experience. Will definitely be coming back. My previous vet no longer does teeth cleaning, in searching for other vets, the prices for most were ridiculous. The price quoted over the phone at Calif Dog & Cat Hospital were very reasonable and Jenna was great about answering all my questions so I scheduled an appointment. My dog, Sadie has dental issues and I knew she needed cleaning as well as some extractions. The procedure went well, she was given pain meds to be given at home and very through instructions for her care. I also brought my daughters dog, Rookie, as he had a broken molar, which we were told by the prior vet needed to be removed. Dr. John was kind and caring during the initial exam for both dogs. He did not feel the molar would need to be removed as it was not causing any harm or discomfort to Rookie and Dr. John, said he did not want to do any unnecessary surgery if it was not needed, but he would evaluate when Rookie was sedated for the teeth cleaning. Ultimately, the tooth did not need to be removed, which made Rookie very happy. I received a text after both dogs were done with the dental procedures saying everything went great and to pick them up later in the day. The staff was great, very evident they all care about their patients. Thank you for the excellent care!

dr. john and staff have always been very helpful. I love going there they've always help me with coby who has a lot of medical problems you don't find good vets anymore in this area or any area. Thank you Dr. john and your staff for your excellent care for Kobe and Buster, Cooper and Benny. I appreciate you guys very much.
