I started at Orange Theory Stockton back in early May because, frankly, I needed a life change—and not just switching from whole milk to almond milk. I’m talking real, sweat-dripping, can’t-catch-your-breath type of change. And let me tell you, Orange Theory has been exactly that.
The coaches are like your personal cheer squad and drill sergeant rolled into one. Rina? She’s basically a human megaphone but in the best way possible—energetic, loud, and always keeping the energy up like you’re at a workout rave. Megan, on the other hand, is fast-paced and somehow always knows when I’m slacking. I’ll be on the treadmill thinking, “Oh yeah, I’m crushing this,” and she’ll be like, “Hey, maybe run instead of power-walking through the mall?” And honestly, I need that. Every. Single. Time.
Giovanni and Tati? Also amazing. They motivate you in ways that make you want to work harder, and they somehow never lose their patience even when I’m over there looking like a confused noodle. Steven’s also great, just in case you run into him—everyone’s got their unique style, but they all push you to be better.
And let’s not forget about the front desk crew. Nick and the rest of the team are like the best hype squad. They treat you like family from the minute you walk in—so much so that I half expect them to be at my next family BBQ.
Megan’s workouts, though, are something else. The playlists? Chef’s kiss. She’ll have you believing you’re training for a movie montage, all while gently reminding you that maybe you should *actually* be doing a squat instead of whatever you’re attempting.
I go four days a week now, and I’m planning on upping that because—get this—I actually look forward to it. Me! The guy who used to avoid mirrors like they were cursed. Now I look in the mirror and think, “Who’s this guy? He looks good!” And it’s all thanks to the splat points and the insane energy at this place.
So, if you’re thinking about joining, do it. Just remember to stretch because Rina might yell at you to hustle, and Megan’s going to make sure you’re doing it right!

Everyone at OTFStockton is friendly and helpful! I have worked out my entire life and I have never got the results I have since joining OTFStockton. I love the science behind the zones. Thanks to the heart monitor, I know how much I need to push myself to get those splat points each time I’m in the studio.

Orangetheory gives me a great workout every time and the coaches are fantastic. It also helps keep you motivated while changing things up just enough to prevent boredom. The only reason I docked 1 star is due to the unrealistic wait list for the morning classes. There are often 20-30 people on the wait list weeks in advance only for them to all disappear and then you all of the sudden get in late the night before or the morning of. I have visited over 30 Orangetheory studios and this is the only one I have encountered that has this issue. Thankfully my work is somewhat flexible but it does make it hard to plan your day if you don’t know whether you will get in or not.

The group atmosphere. Planned workout routine, I just show up and get to work. Heart rate monitor and zones. The positive environment. The fun orange glow and loud music. Coach keeps me on track and motivated!

I have tried working out at home many times, and although we have a full gym in our house, including all the dumbbells, bands, balls, steps, a rower, a weight bench, etc. I could never break away from my stay-at-home mom/wife duties long enough to really get a good workout in. We spent a fortune on equipment but it had a huge flaw, I could never get over. For me, the house is where I'm putting in my "work" hours. Home is the last place that I want to add a workout to. When I step through that door I don't need one more thing on my list. My husband, on the other hand, could come home and workout nightly without a problem. I always compared myself and beat myself up mentally for not being like him. Then one day it hit me. Home is his escape. For him, It feels good to come home and relieve his stress with a workout in his safe space. For me, home was not the same. Once I accepted this fact about myself, I understood what had been stopping me and that realization was like receiving the golden ticket. I was ready! This meant ditching the guilt of purchasing expensive home equipment that was collecting dust. Even saying that, still hurts me a little but this was the best decision I could have made. Going outside of the house, really allows me to take that time for myself because I deserve it! I'm so glad I chose to try a FREE first workout at OTF. Coming in felt like, I found my special place. This is a place I can go, guilt free, away from my family. I'm among the most friendly, supportive and healthy people. In this space, I can work on myself, take my day out on the machines/weights and go back to my family refreshed and healthier. I'm finding my way back to the me, I was before losing myself in caring for everyone else. I have even become competitive with myself through the use of the app, to compare my daily results with previous workouts. The app is also a great place to shop for new merch and book classes ahead of time so I find myself using it even when I'm not in the studio. I look forward to all the themed workout days and it's nice that I have made some new friends along the way. I also love that OTF incorporates "benchmark" days so I can compare my progress over time. That is another thing I would never get in my home workouts and it's really unique to OTF. The staff is so friendly, informative and supportive. The studio is immaculate! The coaches will take time with you to correct your form and even have you go down in weights or speed to make sure you are able to finish the workout comfortably so you don't get injured. You track your heart rate live so you can see when you need to push yourself more or when you need to cooldown. Overall joining OTF has changed my life. It's sounds so cringe to say but I remember who I was, how sad I was, how unhealthy and I just want to give that old version of myself a hug and bring her here. This is my safe space.

Love that I don't have to think about what exercises to do and that I am focused on competing with myself. All the coaches have been great and the front desk staff is super helpful!
