If I could give SUB ZERO rating here I would. After meeting me and looking at photos of the color of hair I wanted highlighted, Cindy Wright told me it was no problem and could definitely give me the results what I wanted. She kept me waiting over 1 hr for my appt that was set and for the next 4 HOURS (should have been a 2 hr process), proceeded to I feel, almost destroy my long hair! Her station table was not clean, the hair on the floor from a previous client was not swept up, she use a brush previously that was set out on a back tray and did not look like it was sanitized. Kept me under a hair dryer-heater that was much too hot and my scalp was burning and took her time to turn on fans in the room to cool down after I HAD TO ASK HER TO TURN THEM ON to prevent me from getting over heated. She seemed to have no concern for my comfort. Her BLEACH JOB FOR THE HIGHLIGHTS turned out BLOTCHY - uneven lift and when she tried to lowlight-color correct, she did NOT wash -rinse the residual color out. She use some spray that left my hair sticky and used a damp cloth and pulled hard on my hair to get the residual color off. ANY hair especially bleached is more fragile and prone to break when wet and she was tugging on it hard. Cindy also reacted very nasty, angry when I pointed out that she bleached an area of my head I asked her not to and that it was blotchy. I was very explicit as to where I wanted the highlights but she blamed ME with what i felt was an intimidating attitude that I felt very uncomfortable with. I could hardly wait to get out of there. She did NOT use any heat protector or extra conditioner that is done when bleaching hair especially before dry blowing. Since my hair is naturally curly, unless it's totally dry, used with product, it tends to frizz. She started suddenly to snip into my top layer with a scissors saying she was trying to cut away some of the damaged hair on top. I told her to stop since it would make my top layer look frayed and I didn't approve of any cutting of my hair ESPECIALLY when she was doing a "razor" method (which you do NOT do on fine, naturally curly hair!) I was sent home with frizzy, sticky, stiff hair. My hair was a colored mess. I had to go to another colorist to correct what i call botch job and condition my hair more. Thank goodness I had a good home conditioner that helped, but my hair has endured considerable damage and my scalp remained red and tender for a couple days. I not only did NOT get the highlights in the color that she said she could do, but felt traumatized, incurred damaged hair in the process and further extra costs to try and fix what she did. It was a nightmare for me!

I've been getting my hair cut by Cindy, the owner for about 20 years! I followed her from salon to salon but I love Coif Salon AND Cindy! She always gives me the best cuts and the salon is the cutest! A refurbished Craftsman style house with a beautiful courtyard out front.

I love this salon. Everyone feels like family here even though I have been going to Jackie for years. She gives the BEST blow outs, colors my hair and give me fun, colorful extensions. She also cuts my daughters hair. Her rates are very reasonable. I adore the other hair dressers as well as the owner, Cindi. Everyone is so kind and accommodating. I highly recommend.

I was referred to Coif by a friend and initially I had a great experience there. My stylist was Jackie, who I like a lot and would definitely recommend. That being said, I just had the most unpleasant experience with the owner of the salon, who was beyond rude to me. I walked in, to cancel an appointment, and found the salon was closed due to renovations. There were large EMPTY cardboard boxes everywhere. I made my way carefully to the desk where the owner was on the phone. I hadn't said a word, but was faced with "The Hand", to make sure I didn't interrupt her. I then stepped back a little (as I was taken aback a little!) and felt something snagged on the back of my jacket, it was the corner of one of the boxes. I turned around to extricate myself and when I turned back she was angrily waving her hand at me. When she was off the phone I asked her why she was doing that, and she told me it was because I was going through her boxes!!!!! I tried explaining to her that was not what was happening, I had absolutely no interest at all in her business, but she interrupted me abruptly with "What do you want?!" WTF??!!! This is how she speaks and interacts with her customers? Really? Needless to say, I told her in no uncertain terms what she could do with her boxes! Cancelled my appointment and I will never go back. I will also encourage the person who initially recommended me to find another hair salon. Unbelievable.

Lia is a godsend. She's taken me super blonde, red, and everything in between. I get so many compliments on my color from strangers! Patient with my chatter and super personable...I cannot recommend her enough. I don't review things on yelp often (this is literally my first ever review), but after my amazing color today, I felt inspired. :)

Great place to get your hair done! Request Jessica she is the best hairdresser. I have been going to her for years. She does great cuts and Highlights. Also super cute street it's on and easy to grab brunch or lunch at Aroma cafe next door.

Love this charming neighborhood salon! It does need a little updating inside. The paint and decor are dated. They should hire a designer.

My review is related to the Keratin treatment that I got . The salon itself is lovely and warm, all of the ladies seem very nice. Few of my friends recommend me to get this done since I keep complaining of how bad my hair got ruined after bleaching it. Right after the treatment my hair looked fabulous, like Japanese hair;) straight, flawless and glowy. They told me to allow 48 hours with no heavy sweat or washing my hair. So I did. Unfortunately the affect didn't last longer then 3 days, I ended up washing it only after 4 days and now its completely back to normal (dry, wild and freezy ) as if I haven't gotten anything done. All my friends say that the strong affect should last for at lease a week and afterwards for couple of month. I would not pay over 200$ for this treatment. I don't know which materials they use but unfortunately it doesn't last

Lia is amazing with hair color and extensions. Let's just say I had a bit of a snafu with hair color and she REALLY helped me out. I'm awestruck at what she was able to do. She is also super friendly and easy to talk to. I would definitely recommend her!
