Where to start, Maggie's Red Kitty is a gem tucked behind Mexicali's Cantina. It is a small, woman owned business. Maggie has excellent taste. The majority of the clothing is made in the USA, linen is everywhere and the clothes are as creative and as eclectic as you want them to be - check out the hand painted clothing. Styles range from jeans (unique ones) outfits for special occasions and - just life! Maggie is very supportive of other small business owners. She carries several small business jewelry lines, incredible purses made from scrap leather pieces that would otherwise go to a landfill, and some truly fabulous painted purses and totes out of South America, these also are made with recycled materials. Maggie also supports other designers by hosting pop up's. The customer service is excellent with staff checking (without smothering you) asking if you need something changed out, providing advice on the outfit you have tried on and they will politely tell you if something just doesn't suit you and come up with an alternative idea. The shop has a great vibe and with every visit I find something new. Of the clothing that I wear on the daily, ~80%+ came to me via Maggie's. If she had a lingerie line, likely the % would be even higher. I am soooo happy that I stumbled upon this little gem!

First of all, I've known about this place for ages so it's a best kept secret and I can't believe I'm sharing but I feel quite strongly about supporting small business and slow fashion companies, so spreading the WORD on this sparkling GEM of a shop! Now, the low down: The shop itself is super cute and has a very boho chic vibe with something for everyone, and I mean everyone. And if that's not enough, Maggie and the girls are extremely friendly and accommodating.. come for a look see and end up staying and chatting with one of the lovely eclectic ladies that works here. It's not just about the clothes, it's about connecting and supporting and really this place creates an environment where you will feel welcome and taken care of. The shop has tons of hand painted one of a kind pieces as well as crocheted sweaters and jewelry made by local female artisans (these are my favorite things) and that makes It more than just a store...it's a community! SO... stop in and say hello !!

What can I say I found the perfect female owned boutique while I was waiting for my table at Mexicali. gorgeous clothing, handmade jewelry. if you’re looking for Linen/ Bohemian style clothing this is the place to go. they even have a designer that creates her Totes out of recycled inner tubes and hand painted canvas they are to die for, straight from El Salvador. Maggie and Lisa, keep up the great work! this is my new favorite boutique. women power!

Maggie Parker and Lisa Finklestein are the new owners of the business at the Jana Boutique in Studio City. They do not own the Jana Fashions Inc. name, nor do they claim to own the name. However they did work for Jana collectively for over 25 years. Jana personally groomed these ladies to run the boutique as Jana would. Hence the customers know Maggie and Lisa by first name. It is a whole new business entirely. The Jana sign on the outside of the store and the girls are all that remains from the old business. So head over to Maggie and Lisa's Shop at the old Jana boutique!
