We came here on a Sunday around 9:30am, found parking in front of the restaurant, and were seated right away. Excellent service - our servers were very friendly and attentive. The restaurant in itself is really cute and if you have time you should check out all their photos and information about Summerland - very interesting! Their portions are very generous, we took some leftovers home. I ordered a Croissant Omelette and it was okay, the bread was a little soggy. The fruit was fresh and the potatoes were tasty. My husband got the omelet with Brie and spinach and I think I liked that better, very tasty!

We went to breakfast the other morning and I'm sorry to say but the food was ok. The Rigoberto's Rancheros tasted like the beans came out of a can and the potatoes were frozen and out of a bag. The Belgian Waffles were covered in fresh fruit but not much to talk about after that. Overall the food was bland. The highlight of the place was the service. The staff was attentive and was very friendly.

We were returning from vacation in Paso Robles and hadn't found a lunch option in Santa Barbara. So we drove through and my wife found Summerland Beach Cafe. It's a cute, quirky old house with tight hallways and multiple rooms. It's really a fun older house that must have an interesting history and some hidden spaces. We were seated with a window toward the south and our view could barely make out the ocean in the distance. They have breakfast and lunch options. Breakfast is served all day. I ordered the Mary Lambert Please sandwich which is a warm turkey and cheese sandwich with a side salad and my wife had a veggie sandwich with fruit. We were pleasantly surprised how good our food was. Service was really good and attentive. My only complaint was the prices seemed a bit too high for the food value and preparation. I could make the food at home and I have minimal skills. I understand the area is expensive so prices are higher. I definitely want to return to try the breakfast items.

Cute little cafe. It isn't by the water but you can see the ocean from the patio over the highway. The portions were good and the staff was friendly. I would stop here again for brunch on the way to Santa Barbara from LA! Also, they are dog friendly (:

The service was good and I was impressed by the variety of choices on the GF menu. I had a hard time making a decision, but eventually went with Mom's Mahi w/macaroni salad. It was delicious and perfect if you're wanting something on the lighter, healthier side. I look forward to trying the other gluten free options in the future. We were seated outside, which is the front of the restaurant facing in the direction of the ocean, but the ocean was not visible. That was a little bit of a bummer, but the restaurant still had a pleasant, beachy vibe.

My friend and I ordered the Eggs Benedict. The waitress asked us if ham was ok. I figured they were out of the bacon so we said yes. Well they charged us each $2 extra for the ham. I would have preferred the bacon. If I had said no would I have gotten bacon or would she have suggested I order something else. I will never know but she expertly up-selled us and I feel taken advantage of. On top of that the hollandaise sauce was very thin and hardly any of it. A different server brought our bill and took it so we didn't want to complain to him.

My family of various ages has been coming to Summerland for at least 30 years! We love the 'homeyness' , and feeling welcome each time we visit. The meals that we have enjoyed here throughout the years, are always straight on, and so enjoyable. The atmosphere inside is from late 1800s or 1900s ~I forgot exactly when this building was built but it's a keepsake! I am fond of their omelettes, their club sandwich,, and their Burger Madness Day, which is typically Tuesday (I believe). If it's warm enough it's pretty sitting outside with the lovely views of the ocean and the atmosphere is so refreshing! Do try Summerlin beach café if you have not... It is worth the drive! Afterwords, it's fun to walk on a lovely beach across the freeway from Summerland

The food was delicious. There was no wait when we arrived and we sat inside. We enjoyed the Belgian waffles, fluffy pancakes, eggs, crispy bacon, organic coffee, and yummy potatoes. The service was good and our waitress was friendly. The restrooms were clean. This is a great place to eat breakfast. I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area.
