Perfect location. A little "girly" with all the flower wall paper and bed spreads. Price was high during summer.

This is the dustiest, dingiest hotel I have EVER stayed in. Stayed in 2021 and decided to try again this summer...no change. Will never be back at any savings of cost to stay in this area. Owner is sweet, but room unbelievably terrible.

TV didn't work, dust and tree leaves under the bed, no enhanced cleaning, no central heating/ac, squeaky beds/doors/faucets, were not provided with clean towels or a clean room the following day because this location doesn't clean due to the pandemic, empty soap container, no tissue, warped/sunken mattresses, no iron/ironing board, no blow dryer, hair and spider in the tub, spiderwebs throughout the room, dirty/stained walls (brown, dry blood), no amenities, almost out of instant coffee in the lobby and had to scrape the sugar and creamer, city closes early, nice country decor, beach is 2-3 mins away.Read less

If you don't mind not having an updated room for 40 years look, mold on shower door, dirty floor, toiletries consisted of gum sized bath soap, and a greasy 2 ounce bottle of shampoo, paint peeling from bathroom ceiling, different textured blankets and colors, not sure if bedding was clean, odd old smell, then stay there. I spent $200 for one night and I could have slept in my car and gotten a good nights sleep. For free too.

Place is absolutely disgusting. Never thought id see some shit like this. The place reeks of old. Smells like a funeral home. Spiders galore in the bathroom.

Don't even consider staying there. The electrical is a mess. The TV didn't work. The place had a high pitched buzz intermittently all night. If you enjoy hearing freeway traffic all night in addition to the totally disappointing room, then have fun.

If you like an eclectic decor and cheap stay and don"t mind build up dust under beds and other places than this may be a fit for you. There is a Jacuzzi tub, refrigerator and microwave. Convenient location and friendly host.

Good but terrible. Was told I could stay paying weekly for extended period of time. I told them I need at least 2 weeks notice to vacate due to not having a permanent residence yet and also I had moved all my belongings here from the place I moved from. The lady that runs this place told me a week in advance I needed to vacate the room despite my request. I put up.with a broken toilet for 3 weeks before finally her son was in town and saw how messed up it was. Then I was blamed for putting things down the toilet and breaking it even though It was already broken when I got here and told them right away. There was a crazy lady staying here long term that was also crazy. Freeway noise sucks but it was a nice large room and convenient for temporary stay even though it is very poorly run

Wonderful place with lots of character, spirit, and detail!! We absolutely loved it (a mom, an elder and a youth traveling to UCSB). The proprietress, Mei, is a spirited Taiwanese auntie who seems to do most of the work (and landscaping) herself. She serves tea in the lobby and often gives little treats, if she has them. The value is exceptional. The tubs are wonderful. Large refrigerator. Wifi worked good. The rooms are comfortable. There is a beautiful park and beach in easy walking distance. You have to cross a freeway on-ramp to get there (btw being so close to the 101 freeway is super convenient if you need to get places fast, as we did) so if you have frail elders or disabled people or small children walking on their own, it might be better to drive down. But there is good visibility, so it is pretty safe. The park has play equipment and bbq pits and the beach is beautiful. There is a small trail or an easy pathway leading down to it, and both are great. Swimming is not recommended (offshore oil drilling is a major feature of life in this area, unfortunately, and spills have been too common), but walking the beach, searching for driftwood treasures (there are tons of driftwood), watching birds, etc. is awesome. There are also lots of nearby antique stores and a great burger shop in walking distance, that has veggie options and a good fish sandwich and really good fries. We came in spring, when everything was starting to bloom, including Mei’s garden. Absolutely lovely! This place is certainly not for everyone. It is clean but not 100% spotless. Which I prefer, because I think it adds to the character, and makes it feel more homey. Plus the chemicals used to make places spotless, I would rather do without. So if you need spotless, by all means pay $300 a night for that in the other Santa Barbara hotels. Same goes if you do not appreciate homey artistry and detail, expect perfect everything to military/corporate standards, or have an aversion to strong Asian women. I have a Ray Charles song for you. :)For the creative souls who will love this little treasure of a spot, and the artistry of an innkeeper who puts heart and soul into her work, I’m with you. The writers, the traveling artists and thinkers, the bohemian intellectuals, the little families, the healers and people seeking peace for the heart, this is where you want to go. Just don’t crowd me out - I need to come back!

This place is really odd. I called and the lady gave me several different prices over the phone for the same room. I drove there at 10am and there was a doorbell camera and locked office door. After several rings no one would come to the office door. It wasn't 10pm, it was 10am.Right on the freeway. Not great

We had a pleasant experience. It was quite, easy parking and affordable compared to Santa Barbra which is only 2 miles up the road. Think of it as a B&B without the breakfast. My wife needed a iron and board along with a hair dryer which the lady kindly provided. The bed was really firm. But we had full blown cable with HBO and all the trimmings. We’ll come back.
