I really wanted to give AAP a fair shake: a chance to prove they were just as good as the big boys (o'reilly's, AutoZone) and in some cases they even have better prices. However, when it comes to refunds and returns they are in the MINOR LEAGUES compared to the big boys. At AutoZone & O'Reilly's you can buy at one store and return at another anywhere in the country with NO PROBLEM. Theoretically, also you can do so at Advanced.In reality, however at this location when I tried to return an item they were allegedly having computer problems so they could not communicate with the other store where I purchased the item to give me an instant refund on my credit card. The ensuing details & drama of it is too lengthy for this review, but suffice to say, it was a long ordeal and lacked precision on their part.I almost got to the point where I was going to just file a dispute using my credit card company. One month after they said the check was on the way, i had to start the whole process over, with no actual sign they ever commenced anything a month ago. And they tell me the computer ?️ problem is still a problem 30 days later. Are they giving me the runaround or are they just that far SUB-PAR in terms of technology ⁉️But now they assure me the paper check is in the mail, or will be soon. I will update this if and when I get the paper check, or if and when I have to file a dispute or whatever the case may be. Don't get me wrong, all the people act and sound nice and polite but real action doesn't always follow the niceties. I'm not a lawyer, but if I was, the " billing hours" on this would be GETTING PRICEY just to resolve this by phone and live chat.VERY FRUSTRATING

This is in regards to their UPS “access point” and that is in quotes because I asked if I can drop off two packages all taped up with the label and was told yes. Only for another guy to tell me that they don’t have room for my packages. How do you not have room?? You’re a car parts store and you don’t have storage? And why tell me no problem and have me go back to the car and carry my packages to the store only to change your mind and say no?? What a joke.

Big change and store style from the Pep Boys space it uses now. Store is always very quiet and so far when Ive gone Im the only customer in there. Like many other stores there's usually just one employee to assist but as I said it's just me shopping. I hope the store stays around because their prices are as good if not better than anything found on Amazon and I can get it immediately, and that's for the general run of the mill things like Oil Filters, Oil, air filters and such that I have found for my 3 vehicles. I can't say its a 5 star experience because I wish they had catalogs or a self service monitor to find part numbers rather than muddle with the employee as they search through their system but overall its close to me and they have had selection and parts in stock always. I understand why other reviewers are frustrated due to that reason especially if you're not dealing with car repairs or maintenance as frequently and need the hands on assistance. Overall I hope they stay because otherwise it's across town for the next parts store. Maybe they just improve their service game to keep the customers they are receiving.

I came in for windshield wipers shortly before closing on a Sunday. Saul (I think?) greeted me right away and was happy to help me find the right wiper blades for my vehicle and budget. He indulged my many questions and offered some helpful tips on maintenance. Even though it was late, he didn’t hesitate to offer free installation as well — I didn’t even have to ask. 10/10 customer service

So rude worker . I just ask can you pls cehck online for 10w60 oil and let me know which location you have. Answer: no because i never seen before . Wth??!! On website is showing have but they are so rude and non professional! Not recommended

Was hung up on by store personal 3 times that I called.Went in person, no other customers.Guy behind the counter needed a part number to find what was needed........say what?I give you year, make, model and cylinder count and YOU give me your part number in YOUR inventory.Lazy people,, bet stores sales reflect this too.Then filmed my crew leaving, as one had found a headlight restore kit.But main reason to visit was the major part that was needed.Put restore kit on wiper blades.My crew doesn't need to take/ steal anything.Went to O'Reilly's down the street.Not going back for anything to your store for sure....

Customers' experience differs. I've only had positive experiences so I'll speak about it. I've frequented Advance Auto Parts twice on separate occasions. The first occasion was to buy black paint, and the gentleman who helped us was knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything. He even recommended brands and gave tips based on personal experience using the spray paint cans. The second time was to check my car's battery life. I knew it was pretty much done, but wanted to make sure. I ended up having to replace the battery. The associate that assisted me was newer but communicated clearly with me and even checked in with a more senior associate when he had questions, which I appreciate. We all start somewhere. He changed out the battery and kept me informed throughout the process. I'll be a returning customer to this AAP.

Atrocious customer service, bought wiper blades and the adapters did not fit my car. Tried to return but they refused to accept despite the boxes being unopened. Manager and employee was incredibly rude and did not care to help aside from saying there was nothing they could do. Much like the other reviews, avoid shopping here at all costs.

Avoid a customer service nightmare and shop somewhere else.Was looking to return an item (synthetic clay sponge) and the manager refused to accept it claiming it was used. I was like “what!?” I told her I never even opened the box whereas she opened so casually and said it looks used to her. So either you’re saying I’m lying or your store sold me a used product!She says a lot of people return used products. I was flabbergasted. In this age of online shopping and other parts stores everywhere, you would think they would try harder on customer service. Ive never been to a place that accuse customers of lying without basis. It’s unbelievable.Smell the damn sponge! If I used it would smell like soap or cleaner, but it smells brand new.

Bought a brand new off the shelf synthetic clay sponge and decided to return it after 1 days. The lady claiming to be the manager had the audacity to say it was used. I was like I bought it brand new and never opened it. She refused to be reason and kept saying it has been used.This place either sells used products or will tell customers they are liars.Never shop here.

This is the second time I have been to this location as a visitor to Sunnyvale. The first time I had less than friendly customer service, like the clerk wanted to be anywhere else but there. This time the clerk was on the phone having a casual conversation with someone. It doesn't even matter who she was talking to. She never acknowledged me. Never asked me to hold on. Never told the person on the phone they had a customer waiting. Even had the audacity to turn her back to me as she hid behind the cash register. I have been in customer service my whole life. This is not how you treat customers that you want to come back. Today's younger generation of of customer clerks leave a lot to be desired. I will never go back to this store.

Not going back to this store. Last week they convinced my son to by a coolant for a hybrid car. To say when I went to return it they said that they don't sell coolants for hybrid cars. And since my son had already open the coolant, they refused to accept it.

What a joke. I called because I found the part that I needed and the part number on their website but the incompetent human beings that are answer the phone could not help me. Stop by to buy air filter today. Three staffs inside and no guest present. Staffs keep doing whatever they are doing. Lined up for help but nobody pay attention to. Waited 10 minutes and grabbed myself. Horrible customer service. Store manager need to retrain staffs.
