Apparently Sunnyvale Municipal can only afford to hire young marshalls that go out of their way to look to pick fights with golfers. The moderately kept greens are not worth the bored, aggro employees

Too noisy. Close to 237 and Air Force base.

The course is conveniently located in Sunnyvale, close to 85, but the staff is no good. When I called the pro shop to book a tee time, Jake refused to help stating that all tee time must be booked via the website. This is the only course that would not allow to book a tee time from the pro shop.....

I really like this course. It's a good goto course. Fairways are wide, the greens are well maintained. There are several holes with water hazards, but nothing crazy (no shots off the tee over water). My favorite hole is hole 18, slight dog leg left, greens next to water, but the sun hits the greens and water a certain way that makes you feel good, regardless of how well you played. They take care of the carts (look new) and the staff is friendly. There is no driving range here, but they have a putting green. I haven't eaten in the restaurant yet, so i can't comment on that. Every time i've golfed here, the people we are teamed up with are friendly. I have yet to run into a mean golfer here (i have at other places). There is a snack shack at the turn, and they serve the typical golf snacks. They did serve Spam Masubi the Saturday i played, but it's a bit pricey and it wasn't very big (looks like someone smashed it or sat on it). So if they have it again, don't expect and L&L style Masubi. Overall i'll come here (or Moffett) when i have time to play a full round. Note: I'm still new to golf and have a high handicap, so if you are looking for something challenging, you might want to look elsewhere.

Good course. Dinged two stars. 1 for course condition and 1 for price. Price is cheaper for the bay but it is expensive compared to what you get from Spring Valley (basically same price but better maintained). As for the course condition, lots of wet/muddy spots. Considering there wasn't rain in the past few weeks, the drainage is not great here. Other than that, the course played good just like any muni. Some tight fairways but overall a good experience for anyone that hasn't played here before. Pace of play was great on a saturday morning (4.5 hrs).

Worst golf experience in over a decade, every single home backed up at least 10 minutes, 4 groups bunched up on one hole going into hole 7, called the Marshall, they never cane after saying they would in 3 hours and fifteen minutes was able to play 10 holes. Terrible, not sure why they overbook to that extent.

I had no clue this golf course was even here until I saw it on a map. We were searching for last minute tee time, and were able to snag one for a Sunday morning.First impression was that this course is good value. The greens were well kept, although hard ones to read. The holes were tight and had lots of dog legs, which make this a great course for practicing hitting a variety of shots. Not a hard course at all but lots of hazards so being accurate is important. The bunkers were hard pack and basically flat, not the best but easy to get out of. The pace of play was cool, under 5 hours weekend round on a public course, finished just in time for the 49ers game. The snack shack sold spam musubis, and other snacks and drinks. Prices were very reasonable. Weekend rates were $59 per round, $17/per for a golf cart. Reasonable rates for weekends in the Bay Area. Definitely would consider playing here again, as it's close and convenient, and in great shape for a public course.

Always good here. Good staff. Snack shack was open and the person working there was the friendliest ever. Grass needs a little work in areas, but greens were in great shape.

Love Karaoke nights on Fridays 6:30-10 at their Macara Bar/ Restaurant with KJ Anthony Nash and BarTender Jasmine. We had so much fun and good sound system. We plan to celebrate our birthdays there next.

Course is in decent shape. We booked one of the last twilight tee times as a foursome. One of us is new to golf and has no clubs so he was going to share with us. Guy in the pro shop said he had to rent clubs from them to be able to play. I’d understand this if our tee time was during a busy time to keep pace of play quick. However we are the last group out. I asked for a justification and all I got was “it’s the rules”. This rule is not posted on the course website and the cost to rent clubs is not posted either. Instead of having to pay $24 for a twilight round, our buddy now had to pay an extra $40 to rent clubs. Bonus is that the pro shop closes before sundown so we had to stop early to return the rental clubs. Our friend had to unexpectedly pay over 2.5x the expected cost only to be able to get through 6 holes so we could return the clubs before the pro shop closed. All due to a hidden rule that we had no way of knowing prior to our tee time. He basically paid the cost of a weekend greens fee to play 6 holes on a Thursday evening. Go spend your money on a less greedy course that won’t spring large hidden fees like this on you.

My go-to course in the bay. Very affordable pricing, decent course quality, and perfect for mid-high handicappers like myself. Only thing missing is a range to practice before your tee time.

Refreshments and food are back! The staff at the restaurant/snack shack, Gabby, Eric, and Jocelyn, were incredibly courteous and friendly. Eric even immediately set us up with ice to keep our beverages cool on the course! Fairways were decent up until you entered the rough, and the greens were simple and in good condition. I had a great day overall and want to return to eat, drink, and have fun.

Want to give no star. You have to wait at least 10 min on each hole. There is a reason why its cheap. 6 hrs and 30min rounding. Marshalls are not present.

5 stars for the price. Relatively wide open so a little boring but nice greens for the price.
