This Bank has been closed, the lobby access, drive up window etc due to staff problems, for over 2 months. Drive to Truckee to access this Bank and it’s closed too! On most occasions the ATM at both branches is down as well! What is going on? How are customers supposed to do banking ?

We truly wanted to bank with bank of the west. We went in the day before to ask about setting up a business account and they let us know that we could come in the next day at 10am so we set the appointment. We arrived 15 minutes early. They told us the gentlemen who'd be opening our account was coming from Truckee and there was traffic. 25 minutes past the 10am appointment, after waiting for 40 minutes we asked to use the restroom. They informed us we needed to go to the bridge tender across the street. We left and went to Bank of America to open up our million+ business account. I'm disappointed in their customer service. The account employee knew we were coming and being 25 minutes plus late is unacceptable. We weren't even acknowledged past when we walked in to apologize for the inconvenience of waiting. We arrived at Bank of America and were promptly helped and the account opening process started immediately. I'd recommend Bank of America over Bank of the West if you live in the Tahoe City area.

Being Neighbors is More than Just Geography! Bank of the West in Tahoe City is running a local business campaign. Have your business featured for the week in the Tahoe City branch. What a fantastic way to support your friends & neighbors.

Bad storm today, the Truckee branch had no power. The TC office was so helpful. While they had system problems, due to the storm, they were helpful and compassionate, and helped us complete our tasks. I highly recommend this bank. They go beyond the call of duty,to ensure we were satisfied. Love this bank. They actually care. Great staff goods to know they are there

Free checking, convenient location for me, and I like that they have a drive-thru (even though I forget they have it because N Lake doesn't have drive-thru anything), but my business banking is with Plumas and I really like those guys, too. But how many banks actually offer free checking these days? These guys do - as long as I don't overdraft.

This has got to be the nicest Bank of the West I have ever seen. Not only are the facilities exceptionally nice but the staff is really friendly and polite.

My wife and I searched (high and low) to find the most accommodating and personable banking facility in the North Tahoe/Truckee area. Our options were Bank of America, Wells Fargo, US Bank, and local institutions such as Plumas Bank, El Dorado Savings and Bank of the West. WE picked Bank of the West, Tahoe City. Why? All smiles, low or no fees, convenience (location(s), services. Yes, there is online banking and ATM services anywhere - but to be able to walk in and be met with a smile and a first-name greeting - we give 5 to BoftheW.
