Came here on a Friday night and secured a reservation through Yelp a few hours in advance. We were seated next to the window, which offered a beautiful view of Lake Tahoe. We started with the fried ahi poke roll, which was more like a spring roll. I thought the fish would be raw, as poke usually is, but I can understand that since the roll is fried...it would make more sense for it to be cooked. We then had the crab cakes, which were very flavorful. The accompanying sauce complemented the protein very well. For the main, we shared the cioppino, which was a generous portion. We thought the broth was on the salty side, but the seafood was cooked perfectly tender. Service was friendly and on point. Highly enjoyed the upscale resort ambiance.

The food and views at Jake's are 10/10. One of my favorite places to eat without a doubt!

Sorry, Jake's... we have been coming here for years for lunch, dinner, Thanksgiving... and the food + drinks have fallen off a cliff. Margarita with pre-made mix from Costco... ribs lathered in teriyaki sauce, again, likely from Costco (p.s. nothing against Costco). At the moment, if you are planning to go to Jake's, lower your expectations and standards. Bar tenders: please try the drinks. Owners: your name and nostalgia keeps people coming back, but the current food / drink quality is far below standard. Service was good. 1 star for service. Again... apologies... we have been there for so many years... hopefully this review spurs action and improvement. Thank you.

We had a GREAT experience at this restaurant. Our waitress was fantastic, she was knowledgeable about ingredients in food and made sure many people in our party had gluten free dinners. Every dinner, drink and dessert we ordered in our party of 8 was amazing.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free

Management is clearly crap. They advertised a huge sushi event and special menu. They only had two chefs, both not sushi chefs, for at least 100 people. Their staff was tremendous, hauling ass everywhere, super understanding. We had to leave because it took more than an hour to get an order off. Clearly understaffed, with an excellent staff. Do better management.

Love having dinner here! Drinks and dishes are equally phenomenal. Packed with fresh flavor and attention to detail. Note that happy hour is only the bar area.

The food was great . The short ribs were absolutely divine. The service was extremely slow which made sense because of the packed restaurant. The ambiance was fantastic, it really feels like you're eating a good home cooked meal. In all Jake's On The Lake was fabulous.

Had a nice dinner right in front of a nice window spot with bay views. Dinners were traditional American but well done. Had the clam linguine with sausages to give it nice flavor. My partner had a salmon dish that was also quite nice. Calamari for an app. Add a few glasses of wine making an excellent way to finish a day on the slopes

Beautiful location for a cozy meal. Food was good. The udon noodle was a little sweet but the ahi burger was amazing.

The food is just OK, nothing special; I would say a bit pricey for the quality. The service and atmosphere are excellent, though. Our waitress, Nina, was super lovely, 5+ for her work. Our order: 2x clam chowder, MARY'S chicken with mashed potatoes (to share), coconut tres leches (to share), 2x tea, and the total was around $100 (not including tips) Recommendations/what to improve: tea selection, maybe consider offering some good brands of tea, ex, Palais des thes; Mighty Leaf Tea, Taylors of Harrogate

The service & the view were great, but the food was very mediocre. For lunch, I had the fried artichoke hearts & the fish tacos.

We just had the worst and most expensive meal at Jake's on the Lake. My daughter ordered the Brussels sprout and I ordered the crab cake appetizer. The Brussels sprouts were practically raw and not roasted, the crab cakes had no spices and the cajun rémoulade was like a mayonnaise- not Cajun at all. Both our entrees which were over $50 each had tasteless fish that had def been thawed. My cod was rubbery not flaky and it was like they dumped a can of mango on my plate, the mango looked more like scrambled eggs. My daughter couldn't finish her salmon because it was overcooked and the "carmelized" cauliflower was raw.. not carmelized at all. It's a beautiful spot on Lake Tahoe and we enjoyed sitting at the bar with the gorgeous view of the lake but I will never eat dinner there again. The service at the table was fine except the hostess at the front desk said she couldn't text me when the table was ready because I opted out of giving them my cellphone number when I made the reservation - I offered to give it to her now but she repeated I "opted out".., not very helpful so she had to call me at the bar 20 ft from the entrance.. just come and tell me personally that my table is ready .. beautiful restaraunt, awful at a very expensive price - 170 bucks

Udon soup was awesome, however, tacos lacked flavor. Don't get me wrong they were good just not the best I've ever had.The pomegranate margarita was delicious but so was the Spicy Bloody Mary however the smallest Mary I've ever seen ?
