Wells and Bennett has been very responsive and supportive in a less than ideal experience I’ve been having while renting a property out in a HOA association. Things that have gone wrong with the property have been out of their control, but they’ve done their best to improve things and have served as a liaison to an unreasonable property management company and HOA association.

Agreed to terms on a ski lease, paid $10k deposit, was waiting for them to send us the lease to sign, and they pulled the rug out from under us. They said that we never told them how many people we had on the lease, but we did. We had to scramble to find a last minute ski lease. They should never had taken such a large deposit if the terms of our oral agreement weren't solid. Seems like this isn't too uncommon here. They also kept all of our application fees - about $300 we haven't gotten back.

Unethical business practice.I reserved a unit of there's through VRBO. It clearly stated the cancellation policy was free less a $160 partner fee.I cancelled within the allotted time frame but was charged $228 not $160. When I inquired as to why, they stated (Tahoe Rentals) that is VRBO's policy not ours. They continued on that I agreed to this when I signed the rental agreement.This is very deceptive, as it is true that I signed the agreement and I should have read the fine print. But, I was under the impression that this was through VRBO, as I did book it through them, and it was obvious and clear that the cancellation would be $160.Tahoe Rentals was uncompromising.Renter beware, read the fine print with Tahoe Rentals as they are NOT transparent.

Attempt Insurance Fraud! We celebrated my 67th birthday! Rented a boat and enjoy a great stay! In the end, the rental office we learned had put insurance on the property in my name and reached out to me to me to fill a fraudulent claim! Plus they gave me a very back review; this has never been my experience and I travel across the country three or four times a year! The is their last email to me after I called them... tahoerentals.com We're really sorry, We didn't mean for you to take offense. We are simply trying to figure out where/how these items came to light. These items were reported after your stay and not after the previous renters' and had to start somewhere with this process. We will not be filing any insurance claim. We don't intend this to come off as fraud as that is not the intention behind this at all. We do hope you enjoyed your stay and welcome you back anytime, Zach

We rented a home from them for almost three years. The minimal repair requests we made (leak in the wall/floor due to an ice dam, exterior holes needing to be patched and rodents living in the walls, etc) took forever to get a person to look at it and the contacts at W&B were never easy to deal with. We loved the home and made it clear to the owner of W&B (Jim Plumbridge) early in and throughout or time living there that we were interested in buying the home and/or renting long term. They told us they would not be renewing our lease past June 1 and gave some bs lie about the homeowner coming in for a bit (into a fully unfurnished house? Ok...). Neighbors said it was always empty and definitely had no one living there. They then listed it for rent at $600 more per month than we were paying a week or two after we moved out. It was also just listed for sale. They kicked out a local family wanting to stay in the community, buy the home, and/or was willing to pay more in rent. All of which was communicated to them. POS.

I wish I can give 0 star for their service. We were trying to book a property for ski lease in Tahoe posted on their website and they straightly rejected us and not willing to talk any further when our group size is exactly the same as what they posted for the property. Using their own words: "Please move on to another source to lease your winter home. We are going to pass on leasing to your group." And same story happened multiple times.Please have someone else to post your property since they do not want any business at all.

Negative 5 stars if possible - Wells and Bennett Realtors are unethical, lack professionalism, and have terrible customer service. Facts here, you can decide for yourself - my reservation was accepted and fees were charged. The following week this agency contacted me and said my reservation was cancelled because they got another longer booking (with this agency your booking is NOT SECURE, stay away from this agency). Nearly a month has passed and my fees have not been refunded. I've called and emailed several times - they cancelled me and still they have not refunded my fees. This agency will not refund your fees. Wells & Bennett Realtors Lake Tahoe is unethical and unprofessional.

I wish I read the terrible reviews this company received before I booked. Should have known better. We booked our trip in February to fly out to Lake Tahoe from CT. Unfortunately less than 60 days from the trip reservation wild fires caused hazardous air quality and I reached out almost two weeks prior to our reservation to discuss this. I was misguided by the staff at Wells and Bennet. We ended up cancelling our trip because the fires worsened and so did the air quality. My family and I did not want to travel with our 1 year old daughter and elderly mother out there. They were unwilling to accommodate and or refund any potion of money. Extremely unprofessional via both telephone and through messaging. I will never book with this company ever again. It was an unfortunate climate / weather related circumstance that caused us to cancel our trip and this company made the experience even worse. DO NOT BOOK with them. "Wildfires are common knowledge."

This company is not honest. They tried to charge me for carpet cleaning when the carpet was disgusting Before we got there. They said they were going to have the insurance company pay for it. The neighbor was also extremely noisy. When we tried to complain, our call was not returned. Won't do business with this company or stay at the condo again.

Discriminatory rental practices. Whoever runs the company broker email from wells and bennett realtors is rude and clearly has personal issues with any renter who is international and not a domestic. Beware.

Tahoe rentals - Wells & Bennett Realtors are deceitful and dishonest. They advertised a property with access to a private beach, pool and tennis courts. They also confirmed our access verbally. Upon arrival they informed us there was no access. They handled the issue by informing us that they should have already change the ad. They then proceeded to update the existing the advertisement after our phone call. They have yet to return our deposit. They were rude and disrespectful on the phone and denied our request for compensation.

This review is more for the owner of the condo than north tahoe rental. They have been pretty good. Rented #36. Kitchen totally lacking. Dark house can't see anything. Hot!!! No ceiling fans. we called lake tahoe rental and told them like every other inside cabinet was locked We got an email from LAKE TAHOE RENTAL to move blow up toys from front door. We did. Not problem. The owners have cameras at frone and back door. The owners were checking up on us. People in unit 35 were yelling at 3:30 am July 4th..and pissing on the build out side my son's room. No body came to help. My kids got yelled to be quite at 930 pklm july 5. 2560 lake forest rd #36 lake tahoe city Unbelievable.... I didn't confront the idiots next doors, one because there were a s*** load of them plus I'm on vacation and don't what to get into it. 3300 a week and you can't see playing cards

Leaving this update to say that we did end up renting a home with another company that was easy to work with and aside from our season being cut short due to covid we had a wonderful experience. I stand by my original review.

Tl;Dr If you rent from this company, they will charge you a fee when they cancel your reservation, and then if you complain about it, they would rather just ban you from renting from them again rather than trying to resolve the issue. Absolutely the worst customer service response I have ever had in my life.BEWARE: If this owner has to cancel your reservation, they will try to keep YOUR MONEY.I rented a property managed by this company through VRBO. The company subsequently cancelled my booking due to the regional stay-at-home order, and is charging ME a cancellation fee. When I contacted them to discuss any possible options they gave none. They said they are a small business that is struggling during this time (COVID-19)... and I get it... but here's the deal: I invested in you. I assumed the risk to invest in YOUR business during this time. During a time when many people are not traveling, I chose to do so, and support your business.This company could have used this opportunity to say, "Well, our hands are tied by the county, so we are going to have to cancel reservations. But we are going to do the right thing and give people their money back." Instead, they chose to try and scrape up some money by swindling their own customers. I would have had no hard feelings about this cancellation, and would have happily rented from them again. But charging the RENTER a fee when the OWNER has to cancel the rental (regardless of whether or not it's the Owner's "fault") is beyond ridiculous. Wells & Bennett had the opportunity here to do the right thing, and they didn't. I called to give them the opportunity again, and again they did not. So I would ask them; what's my incentive to rent from you again? What's to stop you from doing this again? Either Wells & Bennett thinks that they have an endless customer base and that they can throw people like me to the curb, or they place absolutely no value on customer service. In either scenario, I can't see why I or anyone else should ever give their money to such a callous and deceitful business.After complaining about this, rather than attempting to resolve my issue, they responded by adding me to their "do not rent" list.

They will Charge you after they cancel on you.... who does this? Airbnb doesn't. Take your business somewhere else! Not ethical!
