Get a second opinion if they tell you your dog needs something. Brought my dog in first time so they can take a look at his teeth and because his breath was smelling bad. They said his teeth are fine and they didn't even suggest a cleaning when I brought it up, they said I could schedule one but it's not necessary. About 6 months later I bring my dog back for the same reasons and out of nowhere they say I need to remove ALL of his front teeth on the left side around 8 in total on the front. They said he had infections and he's in pain. Listen, my dog's teeth are not perfect by any means, but the only one in pain was me from smelling his breath that's why I brought him in the first time. How could he have went from not needing a cleaning to 8 extractions because of an infection so quickly?? Keep in mind they did not even take his temperature or anything but simply look at my dog's mouth. My dog was eating, playing, going to the bathroom, all normally.. this place will try to scare you so I suggest you go elsewhere to someplace that actually cares about animals, when I got a second opinion my dog only needed 1 extraction and the REAL veterinarian didn't even mention any bogus infection.

The staff at this establishment are incredibly caring and friendly towards our dogs. Although the office can get quite busy, they are very efficient and also accept walk-ins at 8 am.

Be careful use your own judgment. Some of the vets there want to run up your bill and then put your animal down. My dog wasn't doing good and the vet wanted to charge me more money and put her down I said no FN way and brought her home and the next day she's eating and looking 100% better. Trust your instincts they are running a business and first and foremost they need to bring in money and it seems fixing your dog is second priority

Dreaded this post, but I hope it brings some light to this situation for improvement. My husband, 2 dogs and cat moved to Temecula in 2023. One of my dogs is elderly and the other (German shepherd), was just 6. We had our last vet for over 10 years. First visit was with my elderly dog, and I felt it went well. Then I took my shepherd in because her groomer noticed she had swollen lymph nodes. Turned out, she had terminal lymphoma. The news was devastating but we turned down chemo and kept her on a steroid. Keep in mind, both dogs see a DIFFERENT vet. This is important because you are obviously experiencing a lot with each of these dogs separately. I had to take my senior dog in for a separate matter, and he got a completely different vet! Now we're on vet #3. This also wasn't an urgent appointment, so I could have waited to see his normal vet. They were asking ME what meds he was on.... The meds THEIR office prescribed? My boy is 13 and for the first 10 years of his life he had the same vet and LOVED the vet. This assistant decided to muzzle my boy because my dog was uncomfortable and gives off little snarls. I am not against muzzling. I much prefer safety, but this muzzle was too small and constricting, and the anxiousness displayed by the tech and vet was making him so nervous and uncomfortable. Unnecessary. Once my shepherd was unable to go on, we had a mobile vet come for her euthanasia. (BEST EVER) This was back in October 2023. Did Butterfield ever call to check in on her to see how she was doing or want to follow up on her medication? Nope. Meanwhile, we've since moved on to a new vet and guess what? My older boy let out a little snarl and this vet understood right away that he was just letting him know it was uncomfortable. No muzzle needed. I honestly could go on, but if you think this service is what you get from a vet... you're wrong. There are better vets out there.

I've been a client at Butterfield for over a decade. In that time I've spent 20k plus with them in order to make sure my 4-legged's got the care they've needed-cancer treatment, surgery, and just routine (and we've had fantastic experiences over the years. Shout out to Dr. Fox). I work full time and am a single mom and took a day off in order to bring my bestest dog in. We were 15 minutes late. Totally my bad! My dog who is lame suddenly decided the leg didn't hurt and ran all over 2.5 acres until I could catch him. But I should have done better and tried to work that into my calculations. When we got there, the waiting room was full at Butterfield so I assume their time and money weren't compromised but they wouldn't see us. I worked for a vet in Thousand Oaks for 5 years and they would never have done that. Customer loyalty doesn't count to Butterfield probably because of all the change in vets and ownership. I'm going to a new clinic. And they can say goodbye to the revenue of 4 cats and 2 dogs.

Scheduled a surgery two months ago. Received confirmation via email and even spoke to the Vet who stated they would see my dog and will perform the surgery We received a call the day before the surgery and they stated the vet is on vacation, they can't do the surgery. They offered a surgery date for late July. They said "sorry you scheduled your surgery so long ago, it was bound to happen". AT THE TIME THIS WAS THE EARLIEST AVAILABLE DATE!! F this and this place. Horrible they would send confirmations and cancel for a "vacation". Terrible service, horrible excuse. This is not the first time we've been screwed by them, but easily this is the worst. There was no apology and a very non chalant attitude as if it was our fault. Terrible business practice. Go anywhere else.

Was visiting from out of town when my elderly dog started showing signs that something was terribly wrong. I didn't want her to suffer so I scheduled an appointment to bring her in to Butterfield. We'd never been there before but they treated us kindly and with much compassion. I was dreading the experience but I'm so thankful to have trusted Butterfield with such a sentimental and heartwrenching moment. We never felt rushed and gave us as much time as we needed to say goodbye to our fur baby. We have zero complaints. They far exceeded our expectations in simple customer service.

I just want to say Thanks to Butterfield animal Hospital ! They literally saved my Pomeranian. Right away from the staff up front were so sweet , to the vet assistants and the vet knew right away what was wrong. She couldn't breathe all night and when I called those emergency places they were horrible. Not to mention I had a horrible experience at the VCA in Murrieta when I had to take him at night. They were even kind of mean. Fortunately this time I was able to just stay up with her until butterfield aanimal hospital opened and I called right when they opened and couldn't believe they told me I could come right over . They took her back as I cried and they assured me they will take care of her I waited and then the vet talked to me about her issues They kept her for the day bc it was Friday & she knew how I was so afraid of emergency vets over the weekend . They put her on oxygen , gave her medicine as I waited at home When I picked her up at 3 after checking in on her all day , she was back to her fiesty self. I had prayed all day !So I thank God for guiding me to bring her to the right place. Thanks to who the person was that recommended them on my other post! She is on medicine for life and if you have a little dog with breathing issues , this medicine she is on removes the excess fluids and the other one builds their little heart. She used to do that reverse cough thing and this took that away too! Here she is being suspicious of me recording her this morning! Back to her normal self

Dr. Drelich is great. He really took the time to educate us, thoroughly answered our questions, and showed great care for our pets.

I just had to get online this morning to post this review about Butterfield Veterinary and our experiences with them for the last sixteen years. We first became aware of them in 2007. We had just moved to Southern California after retiring and were in need of a vet to care for our Llasa Corky. He was ten years old at the time and was having some issue among them arthritis in his hind quarter. They suggested that a new product that had just out on the market Adequin might help. It was a game changer that made his life comfortable for his remaining years. Fast forward to today and this office continues to care for current Llasa, Preston who is ten years old. We rescued him when he was then three. It was pretty much a no brainer when it came to who was going to care for our new family member. He recently had some dental work done. We were concerned because of his age about the effects of the anesthetic post surgery. They assured us if there were any issues following the cleaning to contact them immediately. It was this type of assurance that keeps us returning to them. Over the years we have talked with other pet owners who had also been coming to Butterfield for years. Listening to their experiences mirrored ours. We're so thankful for the consistency and their professionalism. As long as we're pet owners this will be our go to. A special thanks to our veterinarian Dr. Rivenbaugh, staff member Kelly and the entire remaining staff. It's their caring and thoughtfulness that makes this place so special.

Wouldn't recommend this place at all. Our experience was a nightmare. Lab results were consistently delayed, the vet lacked expertise, and they suggested rare and extreme conditions without basis. Paid $365 for a test with no results ever shared back to us. Difficulties getting them to cooperate for us to order the prescribed diet from Chewy; seems they prioritize in-house sales. The final straw came when our suffering, sick cat was denied care by Dr. Rivenburgh to be seen for his appointment scheduled a week in advance because of a 15-min delay approved by the clinics front desk. This blatant disregard for our pet's well-being, coupled with a lack of helpful resolutions and condescending communication from Erin and Katy, has left us profoundly disappointed. Despite their front desk approval, Katy and Erin refused to find a way to see him due to a 15-min delay from our sick cat vomiting just before I was leaving my house for the appointment. Again, in which I had communicated to them in advance and the front desk approved The frustration and inhumanity displayed by Dr. Rivenburgh, Erin and Katy were beyond measure. Our attempts to reason and show proof of approval were met with indifference. These individuals should prioritize the well-being of sick pets and honor the commitments made to clients by their staff. Save your money and more importantly faith, go elsewhere. There are undoubtedly better options in Temecula. The ruthless exercise of control over our pet's health by these individuals should never be tolerated. I am still comprehending how individuals can behave like that to a vulnerable cat and owner.

Happy they got me in last minute here, but didn't know that it was an extra $30 charge for non appointment. The vet was nice & I liked they allowed me to go back with my baby. I think I'm going to make this the regular vet. They are located in Marco's pizza shopping center.

Came in to be seen by Dr.Scholl after being in an emergency room with our dog. She treated us very nice. Was very patient and performed a thorough exam. Picked the right medication for his arthritis and it has helped our dog immensely. Without having to be on drowsy medication. Dr. Scholl was very patient and gentle with our sweet boy. Didn't charge us for any extra fees. Straightforward and friendly. Thank you Doc and Happy Thanksgiving.

Was recommended by a friend and they were able to get me in quickly. The staff were very good at being nice and making me feel comfortable. The biggest drawback was that they take your dog to the back without you. This has not been a positive experience in the past. Thankfully he came out happy so in the future I would come here again.
