My '02 CR-V needed transmission work. The owner was honest about the wait time . But I preferred the original transmission to be rebuilt over a different one being installed. The car runs great! After 6 months and the service is a great value

Amazing experience dealing with O’s transmissions. Very knowledgeable diagnosed my truck in less than 5 mins. Once I brought my truck in for repair, granted I did wait a while but I understood as he serves first to come. Once he got my truck on the lift I was out within 15mins and the price was great! Will definitely recommend this shop!

Couldn't be happier with how my car turned out, transmission feels brand new. Super nice people and incredibly good prices and lead times. I will be recommending this place to anyone that needs transmission work.

Car Pros Honda in El Monte sold me a really bad car, and I don't know anything about cars, so they took advantage of the situation. One year and an half after buy the car, the transmission broke, and to replace it was around 5 k. Then someone recommended me Os Transmissions, I talked with Osvaldo and besides being so nice and efficient, he's cheaper than others mechanics, and he could be able to fix my transmission even cheaper than the original price he has given me. Until now my car goes really good. I really recommend Os Transmissions if you want to put your car in good hands.

First and foremost I want to say that Waldo, owner operator of the business seems to be a nice guy. On the surface, he is a soft spoken accommodating individual. That being said his approach to running his business leaves alot to be desired. To begin, I brought my Jag in for a complete rebuild. Price was right and it is an old model with a Ford engine and trans in it, nothing complicated nor European about it so I went ahead with the rebuild. At first there were scheduling issues because he had a backlog of cars to work on. I thought, he must be okay to have that much work. After getting my car in and completed i started having new issues with my trans. Returned it to him, and he was responsive about it which was cool. After a few visits back and forth he finally got it right, for a while. Started having new issues and went back to him and he was accommodating, on the surface. Claimed he had a backlog and that he would contact me when he was clear and should be a couple of days. Week went by and nothing. Contacted him again, claimed he was still backlogged and he would contact me. This went on a couple more times and till this day I have yet to get my car done right. At this point my car is past his guarantee and if I want to get repaired I'll have to pay. As much as I like Waldo as a person I don't trust him as a mechanic. His pricing is below most other trans shops but there's a reason why. I believe he's cutting corners to minimize his cost of doing business which results in poor quality work. And it seems more likely that his backlog maybe a condition of the poor workmanship. Sorry.Waldo, but I waited forever for you.

Fair WARNING to all! My first experience at this shop came when my transmission started to slip in my WRX, so the owner Waldo diagnosed it with a clogged valve body. He said all it needed was a cleaning and it'd be fine. 4 months later I'm back with the same problem only this time he said the transmission would need a rebuild. Fine. He tells me it'd be ready it 2 weeks max. Perfect I thought, bc I started school in a couple of weeks so I'd need my car back ASAP. Fast forward to 2 weeks later and my car is still sitting in the same spot he had moved it to on the street. I asked for an update and he said he hadn't started bc the battery was dead. Okay? I had a brand new battery back to him within the hour. Fast forward to a month later and again I'm asking for updates. He tells me he hasn't had time to work on it yet bc he's been trying to get cars out to make room for mine. Okay?... I'll cut him some slack. Another 2 weeks later and he's still giving me the run around as to when he'd get started on the car. Throughout this time, I've been driving by and popping in at the shop and seeing cars come in and out of his shop... but mine was still on the sidewalk covered in bird p**** 3 months later and I'm finally fed up with the excuses so I tell him that he would need to have my car ready by next week bc I have written proof of the due date and legal measures can be taken. Funny how I had my car back that following week. But wait, the bs wasn't over. After washing the car the following day I noticed that my hood was crushed and dented to the point where the paint cracked and fell off. On top of that, all the bird p*** that was on it ate through the paint and etched the whole car, even after I had asked him to clean it off before that happened. I immediately called him and asked what was up with this and he tried to make an excuse as to how he doesn't know if that even happened at his shop. I reminded him that I had taken pictures of the car the day it was dropped off. He then admitted to trying to squeeze several cars into the shop & offered to go 50/50 with the cost to repair it. WHAT??!!! After all the bs he put me through, he still wanted to get away with this too?!.......Super long story short he ended up paying for the damage (as he should) and I ended up selling the car just as the transmission started to go out again... 8 months later

The way I came into contact with OS Transmission Repair (Waldo) was because of all the places that I checked out and would not bring my 4x4 Dodge truck to. My truck drives and shifts as it did when it was new. Sorry, I did not mention that I purchased the truck new in 1997, it's 20 years old. I found Waldo, Fair, reasonably priced, honest, and also did extra work at no extra charge. I wanted a new positive battery cable installed that I purchased from Dodge, at the time I didn't know what a nightmare it was to install, he installed at no extra charge! Before reinstalling the rebuilt transmission Waldo called me to tell me that the freeze plug that is between the trans and the motor block was bad and recommended replacing it. I asked how much more that would be, His answer was under $10 dollars, just for the cost of the freeze plug!!! I have owned a business in Temple City now for over 43 years. Waldo at O S Transmission is well worth checking into before wasting your hard earned money somewhere else.
