I made it to 40 without learning anything about makeup and I've always been too intimidated to go into a Sephora. Today I braved it and asked for help to find a foundation. A really kind employee (Aaron I think?) helped me today. They were super patient and kind with me, gave me tips on how to apply, and tried different things until we were both satisfied. I'm grateful for all the help and will be back.

If I could give less than one star, I would. I realize it's Christmas Eve, and that's why I'm buying last-minute gifts for my daughters from my son who's been sick. I went into your store, and was greeted by a very friendly cashier to ring up my $200 gift card purchases. She kindly informed me they were out of Christmas gift cards so I said birthday cards would be fine. She said,"but I can give you samples," which I thought that was super sweet. When I asked for the samples, the manager of the store came over and was extremely rude. He told her those were not samples to be given out except to match skin tone. When I asked if he had any other samples, he said," listen babe, it's the day before Christmas. What do you expect!" I have never been spoken to more rudely by any retailer that I've ever been to. And I shop A LOT! With as much money as my daughters and I spend with your company each year, I should be leaving with a smile on my face and looking forward to my next return. I would never imagine a manager of your company could speak to a returning customer so deplorably! I'm posting his picture so that everyone who views yelp will recognize him, walk the other way, and hopefully out of your store. I'm actually disgusted. It is the day before Christmas, isn't this when we're supposed to have joy? With online shopping made so easy today, from every company, and Alta being so close, service like this should not be tolerated!!!

Like other comments have mentioned, most of the staff is so rude!! Especially one of the male employees. I was making a return for a expensive foundation that I have purchased many times before. When I bought this particular one, I was still finishing up my old one and bought it as I was almost out. When I went to use it I noticed there were what I can describe as "tiny silicone beads" within the foundation that were hard and didn't blend in. I took it in right away a little before 30 days with my receipt. I didn't even know the return policy changed from 60 to 30 days as that's how long I've liked all my products and haven't had to return anything. Upon just walking up to the register I felt unwelcome and uneasy. I was very vulnerable as I didn't have a full face of makeup on and was in sweats and a tee but I felt VERY judged just walking up. Maybe just in my head, who knows. Anyways, I explained I'd like to exchange the foundation for a different one as I think the one I have is defective. He simply says, "you're using the wrong primer sweetheart" in a very condescending tone. How does he know the primer I use? He hasn't asked. I attempted to show him the silicone pieces in the foundation and he proceeds to tell me to try a different primer again. I was so in shock and gaslit that I actually left thinking it was user error on my part and that I was crazy! Came back 2 days later and he was the cashier again. Again the same uneasy feeling in my stomach like I was being judged. I explained to him again, he looked at my receipt and told me I was 2 days late to be within the 30 day window... I was furious. I wasn't even trying to return the product. Just wanted a different one as this one was clearly defective! Wasting money sucks. Also I don't think he's a manager (I sure hope not) but he was micromanaging every other employee at the cash wrap and you could tell they were annoyed. So cringe.

Super rude !!! They care to close early and that's it! I came from Malibu and got here on time 5 minutes before they close but they closed the door on us. Didn't look at us but heard us knocking. Don't recommend coming here unless you want rude service.

A lovely employee named blake helped my friend and I out the other day. She was so helpful and gave us the sweetest compliments and the best advice we have ever been given at any Sephora. Highly recommend going to Blake whenever you have questions about skin, makeup, or hair.

Blake was amazing! I came in looking to buy a gift card but also get some light -medium coverage foundation since I'm not feeling the current one. I asked a floor rep if someone could help me find the right shade and after a short wait (less than 5 minutes, very reasonable) Blake came to assist me. All I can say is WOW she was so kind and was very quick to find my shade and was sure to find a brand within my budget that covered all bases (price, skin type, coverage type). Was very gentle on tester application and walked me through how to apply, helpful advice, even showed me a sunscreen and offered a sample to take home (so kind!!). Blake was very knowledgeable, friendly, understood what I was looking for and I genuinely felt like she was helping me just to help. There was no push for a certain product, and all in all she provided me a very welcoming first proper introduction to foundation. I walked in looking like Adam Sandler (shorts and all) and left still looking like Adam Sandler (hahah) but with the tools and products necessary to look my best!!! The experience left me feeling beautiful inside and out, and the product recommended and her advice left me looking SO FAB thanks so much Blake!!! Ana

Same as the other posts. This store has two rude employees for sure and the rest seem as they just don't care. Most of them were standing around taking among themselves. I was looking for a TESTER because they were all messed up for these items I wanted and the tall, long dark-haired gay man came out all frazzled and told me so rudely to "stop those aren't testers! See the plastic !" Yes I saw the plastic I was Moving them around to find the tester which of there were zero. The prev couple had been there before me messing it all up and taking off plastic!!!! U need to be kinder and professional. You simply are not but guess that's why you're there ! Also tip, do not call customers "honey". It's rude & so classless. The 2nd rude clerk was the check out older woman who looked like she wanted to be anywhere but there. Didn't even say hi or thank you. Shoulder length brown hair. I mean if you don't want to work with public go get a trash hauling job. Jeez

I bought a bottle of Amazing Grace Lotion and put it away until I needed it. When I started using it I noticed the smell was "off". At first I thought it was me but when I went to Sephora I checked their display and decided it was my product. Next time I took my bottle to exchange thinking it would be no problem to exchange -not return. Joke was on me. I did not have a receipt, they could find my purchase but it was past 30 days. Sephora's solution - give it away or toss, I reached out to Philosphy, a few emails and pictures and they are replacing my purchase with a recommendation to buy their product from them. I definitely will as it could of been an expensive lesson to learn.

Unfortunately, my chance to do the survey expired so I am here doing my review…..Let me first start off saying I never take the time to write reviews for the most part… good or bad, but after my experience at Sephora a couple weeks ago I felt it was necessary. On March 9, 2023 I went to Ulta in Camarillo to buy make-up for my wedding the following day. Keep in mind I’m a 34 year old girl from the Midwest who never really does makeup aside from a little bronzer, blush, and mascara so I was needing ALL the help I could get. I anticipated walking in the store and having one of the MANY associates guide me to the right shades/products needed to help me do my makeup the following day. I stood in Ulta over 30 minutes (the store was crickets- literally NO ONE there aside from the workers) and not a single one stopped to ask if I needed help. Clearly by my face it was obvious I needed help….. so I left.A couple hours later I decided to drive to TO to the Sephora. I walked in, stared at some makeup for a little bit (the store was busy) and here comes an angel by the name of Berkeley. I told her my predicament and she went full force on making sure I was set for my Wedding day. She took her time to show me many products, and when and how to use them along with being VERY patient with me. So thank you Berkeley if you happen to see this! Also, BIG shout out to Blake as well! He was soooo kind on helping me pick out a perfect perfume as well! We smelled maybe 15 - 20 perfumes until we could get a perfect one for me…. Even getting out some device that marks them down in my account for future reference and giving me options for other scents I may not have tried! I ended up buying 2!!! I left that store spending $376.45…… and I would have spent more if I needed to. Ulta lost out and Sephora came in for the win. Thank you again Berkeley and Blake for providing EXCELLENT customer service to this Midwest gal who needed all the help she could get. True stars!

Went here yesterday for a full face makeup from one of their so called professionals. That I evened up washing off as soon as I got home and redid my makeup myself! This was the WORST makeup session I've EVER had and I've had many sessions with previous Sephoras in the past. This person made me look like a 80's hooker! Nothing was blended, I had streaks going down my neck and the foundation didn't even match my tone. The eye liner was like a 5 year old drew it on and my blush was the same color as the eye shadow she put on (no where close to the photo I showed her). This girl has absolutely NO business doing makeup! Especially because all she did was talk about her boyfriend and how her clients spend so much money in the store. If anyone has ever gotten their makeup done by this girl and liked it, they're BLIND! Also I called the store to complain and get a refund and all they did was give me a 1-800 number to call and hope I'll get my $80 back. This place is trash!

Good Sephora! the staff was really helpful and good at guidance for new makeup shoppers. they were reasonably honest about what was good and what was bad, and didn't try to make us just buy a bunch of things. Ava was cool and helpful.

I wish I could rate this location as a zero. Upon walking in the store smelled of sulfur (rotten eggs). I was greeted by an associate who wasn't making eye contact with anyone, very superficial. Why have him there? Next, I walked through the entire store and none of the many sales associates asked if I needed help. No one said anything and there were at least 7-8 of them standing around. Once I found the line I was searching for, I was stunned to see they had almost zero stock available. The testers were dry and unusable. Just a horrible experience. If you are looking for an unwelcoming place with no stock then visit this location.
