About Angel Island State Park
Angel Island State Park is a top day trip in the San Francisco Bay Area. It is a completely car-free island with no permanent inhabitants, making it ideal for biking and hiking. There's a lot of history in this place, and it's big. Visitors can walk most of it or use a shuttle bus that takes you around. Doing the loop around the island gives breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views of the entire Bay Area, including the Golden Gate Bridge, the San Francisco skyline, and Alcatraz. The hiking trails are mostly straightforward, with a few narrow sections. Hiking to the top of Mount Livermore offers spectacular, sweeping views. The highlight is the incredible 360-degree panoramic view, with amazing views around every corner. The history is captivating, with stops at the historic Angel Island Immigration Station and remnants of old military forts. The trails are well-maintained, and local wildlife, including deer, can be spotted. The ferry from Tiburon takes only about 10 minutes, and the views are beautiful. Ferry options are available from Tiburon, SF, and Alcatraz Tours. It is recommended to pack food, drinks, and sunscreen. Even in summer, it gets very foggy, windy, and cold, so pack warm jackets and layers. The best clear weather months are February, March, April, and September/October. This is a perfect outdoor adventure for families, friends, and visitors. It is an absolute must-do Bay Area hike and a hidden gem.
Plan for about 4.5 hrs. to walk the paved perimeter road, plus sightseeing. Lots of places to sit and watch and catch your breath if needed. Easy walking once you get up to the perimeter road. Watch for wildlife scat because there's a lot of it. Pro tip, hold on to your hat. It gets breezy. Have fun..

There's a lot of history in this place it's big you can walk most of it or use a shuttle bus that takes you around unless you're going to power walk the shuttle bus is probably your best bet.

Wonderful place to visit we did the tram ride it's a very beautiful place well worth it
