In my 25 years of banking and financial history I have never experienced a more horrible bank. They pray on fees and customer service is nonexistent to them. Please leave USA. Stick with Wells Fargo, Chase, anyone else BUT BMO.

I actually walked in to close my bank accounts with BMO. However instead of closing it Annie helped educate me on my accounts and what I can do to resolve the issues I was having. Thanks to her I kept it open. Stellar employee! Thank you for helping me :)

Worst bank ever including worst staff and branch manager. Counted out $4300 on counter (in stacks of 100s) and teller just grabs it, doesn't count it and money disappears in a locked box. She says it was $4200. I ask to see it and she says she cannot. I asked for video of me counting out money and they would not provide. They just kept putting me off and I was out $100. The whole time I was trying to see the money or get resolution, the teller just kept saying "I knew I should've taken lunch".Then I made 3 purchases on July 6th. Before each one, I made sure I had the money in my account the the 3rd one was a ATM withdrawal so the money was DEFINITELY in my account. Something came through my account the next day and they charged FOUR $35 fees for the transactions. If there were any charges, it should've been just one as you cannot go back to the PREVIOUS day and charge me for those transactions when the was in my account. The branch manager is Diana and checked what balance I carry on my accounts before deciding whether to help me or not. Apparently, I do not carry large enough balances as she refused to resolve the issue. Oh but she did offer me a ledger and a pencil so I can go back to 1970 and track my balance. How about you just fix your app and technology instead of blaming the customer. This is theft and very bad business. Both Manhattan Beach and Torrance branch managers refused to help me. Ignacia has refused to help me several times. I was in Vegas trying to check into my room and they refused to release any of $22k check I had deposited even though I have been with them for 3 years and have had MANY large checks come through my account. She left me stranded in Vegas out of spite. A friend came through for me no thanks to her. When I was trying to resolve the 4 fees with both branch managers and Ignacia, they said they couldn't do anything and I had to call customer service. I have later found out they could have helped if they wanted to but obviously they know zero about customer service. When I did call customer service, that person was every bit as useless and unhelpful. She would not let speak to her manager Christy and Christy was supposed to call me back. Surprise, surprise Christy did not call me back. I got a survey and detailed all of this and begged them to track my phone number and call to see what I had to deal with. They did not but rather had Diana the Torrance branch manager call me and be completely useless again. I would love to see the training of Bank of the West employees. Avoid Bank of the West AT ALL COSTS!!!!

I have driven across town twice to come to this location during regular business hours, and it had been closed. Unacceptable.

Multiple failures at this bank. Inaccurate. Showed up today to make a deposit and the whole branch is closed. Given them multiple chances but enough is enough.

Can you believe a bank closes the branch 1-2 pm without any notification in the website or any other location for Lunch? I just drove from my home to the only branch in the south bay area, and they locked the door 12:59 and even didn't talk to me... Due to short staff problems... which is not my problem as a customer. That was not the first time I had issues with them. They have closed their larger branch few months ago, and called me to empty my safe box, because the new smaller location do not have room for safe box. No matter I am premium customer and paid for that service. They asked me you can get another box in the other branch which is 1 hour driving more from my home. Terrible customer service... I have closed my account and won't recommend to anyone, never ever.

The worst bank I have ever dealt with. By their MISTAKE they closed my two debit cards and, guess what, they felt may pain but could not do anything about it for SEVEN BUSINESS DAYS. I had been with them for 15 years and this is the best they can do. Getting a new bank tomorrow. DO NOT USE THEM -- they could care less about their clients.

Terrible service all around. Have to make an appointment to enter the building. Asking a question over the phone results in a long hold only to get a person who refers you to the 800 number and an even longer wait. A few years ago, I tried to use my HELOC to upgrade my home's electric panel and my electrician could not get access to the funds for more than 3 weeks. His bank, Chase, could not get Bank of the West to process my check without my verbal approval. So I sat on hold for 90 minutes only for someone to say the process takes longer that usual because the amount was so big. That amount was $4000. Then another time, I was trying to refinance my mortgage with another lender and needed Bank of the West to provide info for the other lender. This bank dragged their feet. Was supposed to be a 60-day escrow that went almost 4 months and cost me additional fees with the new lender. Now I'm trying to pay off my HELOC and my only option is to do it electronically, but in order to do it, I have to make multiple mobile deposits because their limit is only $10,000 per day with a monthly limit of $20,000. Other banks can do $75,000 monthly. Such a headache.

If I could give this bank a zero - I would! It is the absolute WORST banking experience you could have. They won't let you inside without an appt, claiming they don't have any when the entire bank is empty. They don't want to work, and are completely CLUELESS. I would absolutely never ever come here unless it's your last possible option.

It isn't enough for clients to wear masks, distance and execute transactions behind a fiberglass partition with a teller apparently. One drive thru line, one teller, one ridiculously long line. Avoid unless you really need to go to that particular branch and have lots of time on your hands.

I came here to pay off my parent’s mortgage. This branch is reallly horrible. Poor customer service and NOT COVID COMPLIANT. Didn’t see any sanitizer around and the banker Jenivave didn’t have her mask on half of the time.
