If I could give negative stars!!This place is exactly what all the reviews say. Every day it’s something, I tried to be polite but the management and supervisors aren’t qualified. I called the abuse coordinator and I’m still waiting on a reply. They can’t be this busy or have that much abuse to investigate??? Someone tell Ms. Rita to call me. I have witnessed the patients smoking in the hallway like they couldn’t wait to get the the patio and no one said anything, I’ve witnessed patients walking around in their own feces. All the nurse did was tell her “you need to stay in your room” but no one actually showed up to clean her. Patients scream for assistance all day long. I feel so bad for the people that have no one to check on them. AND I CANT BLAME THE NURSES, they are all trying their best and are in the same position. Understaffed and no one gives them a correct answer. No supervisors show their face when asked, the administration is always busy. ?

Bay Crest Care Center in Torrance Ca. is a living nightmare. My family member has been there since 5/2021.Every review you read about residents laying in urine soaked and poop filled diapers for hours and hours is true. There are no regular daily routine hygiene protocols put in place. Residents who are unable to brush their own teeth will NOT have them brushed daily. Most times not even brushed once a week. The residents are allowed 2 showers a week. And most weeks there will be an excuse why they will not have their shower on their shower day. All the reviews you read about lazy staff memebers are again true. They do not answer call lights for hours. When they finally answer the call light they will say “ill be right back” and never go back. The place is filthy. The walls in the residence rooms are crawling with ants daily. The bed linens are rarely changed. The residents look dirty with filthy sheets and blankets. The facility recently planted a mobil garden in the inside entrance of the building. It looked nice the first couple of weeks but now it just looks sad and unkept like the rest of the facility. The meals are a joke. A sample menu for a day might be oatmeal and pancakes for breakfast, chicken nuggets and fries for lunch with a hot dog and macaroni for dinner. No quality nutritional food is being served at this place. Its all processed junk food. I have seen the kitchen through the open windows. Its dirty. The turn over staff rate is over whelming. All of them from the Admins to the nursing assistants. I researched Bay Crest online today and found so many formal complaints from allegations of sexual abuse to comfort measures not being followed on hospice patients to state inspectors finding residents laying in urine and feces for hours and these formal complaints were all from the recent months of 2023. Dont send your family member here if you can avoid it. It really is as BAD as all the bad reviews say it is. And the few reviews that say good things about this place???? They must have it confused with some other facility.

Like ALL senior skilled nursing facilities, Bay Crest struggles with staffing issues. A shinning light is the Recreation Director, Mayesha Smith. She stepped up to act as "Care and Transportation Coordinator" when we needed her. Thank you Mayesha!

I cannot say enough great things about Bay Crest Care Center which took care of my dad from 11/12/22 through 12/14/22. The staff were all caring, attentive and compassionate as if my dad was their own. The staff would attend to his every need with patience and love. I highly recommend this nursing facility for any of your loved ones and saw many other facilities that were less than par. Thank you Bay Crest Care Center staff for all of your love and compassion to my father.

If I could leave 0 stars for this crooked care center I forsure would. Its amazing this old run down building hasn't been shut down because it is far from what its suppose to be. My aunt/godmother got transfered here after a stint at a gardena care center & the parking lot is just ridiculous, so small you have to revert to finding a parking spot in the local area. They had her in a small room with 2 other people, no air conditioning so the sun is beaming thru the window on her & because the building is so old and isnt kept up with the wiring is bad every outlet I tried to use didnt work at all so she was left with a dead phone. Besides all of that mostly all the nurses are careless. I'd reccomend that everyone look into this place if they find out a loved one is being transferred here & reach out to whoever they need to to get out of seeing your loved ones end up at a crooked unorganized facility like this one!

This facility has some of the worst people working there! Most of them are lazy and don't do their job. The food is horrible. Its old and very out dated my sister was there for 2mo they kept running out of supplies like diapers and clean lien. they have their patient sitting in THEIR OWN soil for hours. my sister would push her nurse button most time come a hour later or more later. The night staff put on double diapers so they will not have to come back and change the patient the entire night, They go somewhere and sleep their entire shift just lazy. They ran out of her medication and she did not have it for three days. There were only 4 day time nurses that were good and did their job the rest was just horrible and rude. The one case worker that was hired a month after my sister was there was also helpful. Don't TAKE YOUR LOVE ONE TO THIS PLACE Hershey NEED TO SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN OR DO SOME HOUSE CLAENING.

Don't. Send your family ever there I think it's the worst facility To work for and be a resident. Why no air conditioning they rather sweat the staff to death instead of focusing On making it a better place so they want to stay there.Staff is rude and tired they quit right away or don't show up to work the next day they are constantly short-staffed by the department. And Nursing so they hire a registry to fill positions. All the pictures you see of the facility would be nice as the ones posted are old versions. What is the facility? Looked like when they cared about everyone. They come around bossing in people's departments and Constantly being made up. Positions so they can tell people what to do maybe instead of corporate hiding all the issues to avoid a lawsuit they should show support to their employees by taking care of the staff and want respect from others in charge clean go to see a facility. For this where the patio is ugly and there are no dining chairs furniture is gone no curtains are in the windows to make it decent, it just looks so worn out that nothing matches sucks for families not And the residents I had no choice to put a star rating when you know you don't want ratethem

Very bad behavior of nurses qualification doctors have habit of giving over the amount of medication to patients the staff behavior here half the time is not very well the nurses behave very unkindly compared to the other ones that have very sweet attitudes there's some that have very vulgar disrespectful attitudes of disclosure not treating patients right making patients wait it's very long periods of time problems with how they adjust to behaving to some of the patients this needs to be corrective otherwise I will report this to the health department and the mayor of California and the governor as well

My mom who is of sound mind and lives in her own home was placed here from UCLA Harbor hospital after she broke her femur, within 5days of her being in this facility we had to call the Torrance police for a wellness check! No one would answer the phones in a 24/7 facility and because my mom wasn't getting the proper care I felt unease about her safety! I also had to call for an ambulance to take her to the hospital for urine retention that she had for 3 days, she asked the facility to do it but they wouldn't until they heard from the doctor, she called me in tears and I called for the ambulance to pick her up as I drove 1.5 hours to meet her at hospital! We tried getting her placed somewhere else but the other facilities either were full or had covid, so we had to keep her here for 6wks. My family all took turns being with her through the morning till early evening and had witness so much mistreatment of my mom and other patients!! Like sitting in dirty diapers for 2-4hours, not getting showered , patients falling out of bed, incorrect medication dosage, CNA being rough with patients, absolutely incompetents with catheter bag, mom never saw a doctor even though they said he came by? They even tried to blame my mom for not being cooperative!! We called ombudsmen, public health and police, all said our complaints were valid! I just heard back from public health that this place is being fined! The report is also going to the State Department for further investigation. There were so many more issues that we finally took mom home to continue her treatment were she would be taken care of properly! Shout out to the PT employees who were awesome, especially Reza! CNA Jose, Jackie, Veronica and Maria for going out of their way to help us when they were there, LVN Tohra and LVN Andrew, all of you that I mentioned were very compassionate about helping the patients and are truly a testament to your profession!! My mom had been in another nursing facility when she broke her hip years before and received great treatment, which is why we were in shock of this place !!! Please don't place your family members here and if you have to drop in at all hours to see how things are going!! I pray for the safety of all the patients who have no family looking out for them while in this facility

I stayed at Baycrest for a while and some of the staff was polite but I admit there were a few staff members who were rude and disrespectful. They weren't prepared to handle the pandemic WHATSOEVER. I got covid from that facility and was transferred out to quarantine. When I got back after quarantining, I was placed with a patient that had covid and once they found this out they placed me on the other side of the building to where they had covid free patients. When they tested my neighbor they found out she had covid, they moved her to the other side of the building where the patients that has covid.

The nursing staff is neglectful with a few exceptions... ESPECIALLY the night nurses... the response to a call light and to a patient needs is horrible... to be left on a bed pan or in a soiled diaper is disgusting and disrespectful... I have witnessed both... I had to call my healthnet provider to get partial treatment... I will be going home to continue my wait for my bones to heal in an external fixation until my orthopedic doctor appointment to see if my bones are healed or if I will need an operation. I will never recommend this place to anyone. Friend or foe..... the cleaning staff is wonderful and some of the day nurses are good... a few of the night nurses are good . I have been here for 5 days and I haven't been offered a toothbrush or a bath.... a bed pan has been in my room since last night at 11 pm it's now 5:30in the morning . I put them underneath me and take them from under me.... horrible conditions....lazy nurses
