[Review #746] 2023-032 My son's Chinese school uses Chase for their banking needs; I'm currently serving as the Treasurer. When school's in session, I'm usually taking care of their banking needs at the branches up on the hill. Since school's not in session this summer, this Chase branch is nearest to me. Formerly Washington Mutual, this location is off Torrance Blvd. near old town Torrance. I'm not a customer of Chase due to conflict from my college days, & don't have faith in this institution to serve our financial needs. I came on a Saturday morning to deposit next school year's tuition checks & find myself uncomfortably waiting awhile (I've seen people loitering nearby in the past when I'm waiting for the signal light) at an exposed ATM. The machine needed time to read/process the checks, unlike the olden days when one has to write a deposit slip & slip an envelope for the deposit. While this method improves accuracy, reading & showing visually the check's pic & allowing edits for the reader is incorrect or the writing is illegible. For safety of their patrons, I hope this branch will consider building an ATM enclosure to protect their customers' well-bring.

Been here several times. Generally friendly but Phoebe in particular has a chip on her shoulder. What's up with that. Very sorry you feel I don't bring in your elite club. I guess I'll just have to rough it. Didn't make the grade

Chase lied to us about the terms on our CDs. They forced us into auto renewals when they said we could cancel at any time. They forced us to go into the branch in person to discuss the CDs. They are trying to close us $400 to close they told us we could exit. We haven't even made that much interest off all of our accounts with them over the past 5+ years. They are a bunch of thieves and you should never work with them. Find a local credit union.

The current assistant manager at this branch is now limiting the amount of U.S. half dollar customer rolls for deposit. She is the first and only to do so. She offered me "one last deposit opportunity" to deposit some half dollar boxes but declined once I filed a complaint. I tried my best to de escalate the back and forth but got nowhere with her. She is declining to accept any of my half dollar boxes moving forward. I won't hold my breath for a resolution by corporate, so I don't believe I will be returning to this Chase branch.

I have had a chase account since I was a teenager, back then it was called Great Western. I contacted this branch some weeks ago with a question on home loans. I left my name and number and was told someone would get back to me, about 1 hour later I got an email for the loan department saying that she was the person to speak with and basically ask me when a good time was to talk, I told her anytime and that was that. I never heard back from her or not even an email. I'm thinking if I was sitting on a couple million, I would have gotten a call back right away and would be well into what I called for. But because I don't have a lot my call never got returned. Moving on to another branch. Morale of the story never judge a book by its cover!!!!!

I'm absolutely fine with Chase on the whole. Never have issues with bill payments, Zelle, every day banking stuff and I even like my Amazon Chase credit card. I've been with them for decades if you count from before they took over WA Mutual. The bummer is that I had a nice time the last time I came here to get a big cash withdrawal for the movers I was using. My teller was quite friendly and even had useful information on the benefits of upgrading my checking account. That experience alone was why I drove to this location instead of driving to dreaded Hawthorne Blvd. What a let down! I came in to do a large wire transfer to my mother's account. I was okay with the teller informing me that the "banking" side would have to take care of it. I sat down and waited. My issue was with the rude, cold and dismissive banker who helped me. Nancy asked just what she had to, no warmth, eye contact or thank you for banking with them and gave me a very abrupt and insincere farewell once she was done. Kind of sucked the wind out of my sails for a while. Then I got over it and felt glad that at least I enjoy my job.

Shut down my account from another bank because they were no-bueno and decided to open one up in here. I went directly to another branch but was told that they're doing appointments only and that I had to go online to do that. (I'm guessing it's a pandemic precaution thing.) I didn't mind it at all. I had plenty of time to do all that. So, I went online to do just that. Although there's a closer branch to home, for some odd reason, I was being directed to a branch (this one) a few miles further. I learned later that only certain branches are doing new accounts and the rest are for either ATM or teller services only. (I'm attributing this to the pandemic as well.) This worked for me since I was going to be doing errands headed this area anyway. I was a few minutes late. I noticed an unknown number poppin' out on my phone and I knew it was the bank calling. I didn't bother answering since I was already at the parking lot. (I thought that was cool, though.) I dealt with worker Sielantonio. Since I did my research beforehand, I knew exactly what kind of account I wanted. I won't bother going into details but the whole transaction was easy. Everything simply went smoothly. (On a funny note, he guessed what bank I took my money out from and revealed he, too, had problems there when he used to bank with them.) People like walking away from a business transaction in ease. That's exactly how I felt here. Here's hoping that kinda feeling remains.

I had to wait to be serviced, I had to print out my bank statement for my proof of address for the DMV that day, and everybody was busy although it was slow make up kind of being passed from one person to another. But it probably was just slightly hectic although it was basically empty they were on calls, they were nice about everything.

This was an excellent experience. Several Chase bankers checked on me as I was seated and shortly Susana P., a Vice President for private clients assisted me with my questions and need for a notarized document. She notarized my document and asked me if I needed additional assistance with other things like setting up Apple wallet and making some copies for me. She also answered my credit card questions and enrolled me in a different checking account to save me money and even rolled back a couple charges! She went above and beyond the call of duty and I will do all of my banking there because she is a gem. No wonder she received the national achievement award! Thank you Susana.

I recently opened a new chase account about two months ago because I just purchased a new home and it would be easier if I had the same bank as my boyfriend so we could send money between accounts easily. Ever since I've opened this accounts it's been HELL. I've had several banks and Chase makes Bank of America look amazing which if you've ever had BofA you know how far off from amazing they are. I started a new job and until direct deposit (which takes a couple checks) takes place I have to deposit my check. The first time I deposited it, it took me 2 WEEKS to receive my money. I was moving and and had many expenses that had to be put on hold. I called in to lost prevention and they were able to take off the hold before the clerk told me it would and noted that it's a payroll check so it shouldn't hold. WRONG second time I came here to deposit my check and the cashier told me she couldn't do anything about the hold, and rudely asked why didn't I have direct deposit as if I didn't know that was an option, so I had her give me my check back I went to another chase in Santa Ana and they were able to have ALL my money deposited in my account by the next day. They said my hold should be finished since it will now be my third check again WRONG they wanted to hold my check again for 2 more weeks I asked if she could do anything about it and she said no. I went to another chase and they were able to release the hold and I had my money that day. I believe this place doesn't want to go above and beyond to help a customer. How could the same position in other chase banks release the hold but this location can't??? I left 2 stars because the location is close to my job whenever I need to pull out cash quickly and because there usually isn't a line here when I come in at lunch time. However, I will be closing my chase account since they can't get their s*** together.
