Dr. Cassidy took great care of our last dog, who was diabetic. She monitored his progress and responded almost daily to his blood sugar readings which I emailed to her daily. When we got our latest dog, we returned to Dr. Cassidy for the same great care, which she has provided him. We recommend her without reservation and with the highest praise.

I found this veterinary practice after searching for vets who offer the PureVax rabies vaccine, which doesn't contain toxic adjuvants. I called a few near me in Manhattan Beach and none of them offer PureVax even though it's clearly superior. When I found this practice, I was very excited and went ahead and made an appointment for my two cats. Today was our appointment and I had a great first time experience with Dr. Cassidy. I've had my cats for about 18 months and they didn't finish the full kitten vaccination schedule, so we were behind. She didn't guilt me on it but made sure we made a plan to get them. She also didn't make me feel judged for my decision to let my cats be indoor-outdoor (for their mental health). I know it's more dangerous, but cats' mental/emotional health suffers when they're stuck indoors, and I believe mental health is equally if not more important than physical. Her main concern was that they get the necessary vaccines to not catch viruses. (Btw my cats are always indoors before sundown to avoid run-ins with coyotes, raccoons, etc.) She was gentle, thorough and took the perfect amount of time with our visit. She was open to my questions, gave me the information I needed, and never make me feel uncomfortable asking which some medical professionals do, as if I'm questioning their expertise. Overall I loved my experience and am excited that I found a great general veterinary practice. Highly recommended!

Excellent clinic, wonderful and caring doctors and techs. I searched the nearest vet after my pup got stung by a bee, and they helped me straight away. I brought in my pup within the next hour and they took such great care of him AND me. The two techs who helped us were patient and professional with my dog, Dr Elliot was compassionate and acted quickly. The vet tech Joyce was so calm and collected which was just what I needed because I was so worried about my dog. She took kind and gentle care of him, and he was on the mend and back in my arms in no time. It was affordable, fast, and above all friendly and welcoming. Definitely will be our regular vet now! Thanks Country Hills!

I have been bringing my beloved dogs - at this point 5! - since 1988 and would never consider going anywhere else. The entire staff is caring, knowledgeable, professional and I've never had a dog that was fearful of going there - they enter the office as if they're going to a party! They now are at a different location, but it doesn't matter that my commute increased by 50% - wherever they are, I will drive the distance to have that outstanding care!

Front staff generally seems unhappy and short with you -- almost like why are you here kind of thing. Dr Tong and staff are great with the dogs.

My sister took our cat Squeaky to a vet in the city of Pico Rivera on 7/21/23 because he was sneezing a lot. While I understand and thank them for finding out that he's got kidney issues, (he is 15 1/2 years old), I do not appreciate that they told us that the sneezing was probably caused by his kidney disease. I forgot why, but he had to be sedated. Someone there asked my sister if she wanted the tartar to be removed from his teeth. Tartar? Really?! They should've recommended extractions! I'm not a vet, but I feel that they over medicated him during this visit. He came back dizzy and had COMPLETELY lost his appetite and the sneezing worsened. After he came home, he just quit eating. He didn't eat a thing for a couple of days. We tried everything: Kitten food, Gerber's baby food, nothing. I called the Pico Rivera place and let them know about his complete lack of appetite. They recommended 2 more medications: one to increase his appetite, and one for pain. They never explained to me why they gave him a pain killer. I'll accept blame for this because I was so upset that I didn't even ask. I had a migraine when I went to pick up his meds. By now, Squeaky' right nostril was completely blocked with mucus that had gotten hard because he wouldn't let me clean him. I called this place later and asked if they could email Squeaky's Medical Records to me. They said that they could and took down my email. I'm still waiting. This place infuriates me! Desperate, I got in touch with Dr. Jennifer Cassidy at Country Hills Animal Clinic. She used to be our next door neighbor and knew Squeaky well. I don't want to sound negative, but at this point, I was asking advice on what to do if a cat dies at home. We have no experience with this. He's our first cat and he wasn't eating at all! I explained what was going on with the lil guy and sent her a list of all the medications that were prescribed. She guided me carefully, advising me in which meds to continue and which ones to stop. She saw him a few days later. The first thing that she said is that he needed quite a few extractions. She figured out that his acute sneezing was caused by the germs that were in his infected teeth. They had traveled through his sinuses. She cleaned up his nostrils and told me what to do to improve his health. She gave me clear and concise instructions. Something that the other place did not! She even gave my sister 4 different cans of kidney-care food so we could see which one he liked. Squeaky started eating better right after his visit with her, thank God! He was just at the clinic yesterday (8/1). He had to have 7 teeth removed!! I'm administering pain medication every 12 hours for the next 2 days. He has a follow up with her in 2 weeks. Our family is SUPER happy with his care at Country Hills. Dr. Cassidy even allowed my sister to be in the examination room with Squeaky!! This meant a lot to us. The other place just took his crate and gave him back when they were done. Needless to say, we are not taking Squeaky anywhere else. He got the best care here! Thank you Jennifer and Staff!!!

I've been taking my dogs to Country Hills Animal Hospital for years, a testament in itself to my absolute satisfaction with the care they receive there. The staff are invariably friendly, knowledgeable, and very caring. They treat my pets like their own. Dr. Cassidy is an excellent veterinarian and runs an excellent clinic.

This clinic is more into how much they can bill rather than providing medical care to your pet. Here is comparison to their professional vet services versus the vet I ultimately had perform my dog's sx. -Country Hills estimate for dental sx 9 yr old Chiweenie Horrific plaque/some lost teeth $3500 to $4500 also required: completed lab work up: blood, urine, fecal and 4 vaccines scheduled one week apart two weeks prior to sx date. All authorized and paid for. My new vet: Pre sx blood work cost 1/3 what Country Hills charges. New vet sx costs less than 1/3 of Country Hills -Country Hills I requested owner perform the sx but she was too busy so her associate Dr. Tong told me in conversation that my questions needed to be directed to Dr. Cassidy as Dr. Tong was "only doing the sx to help out Dr. Cassidy. Dr. Cassidy never called once, she deferred to Dr. Tong. New vet performed exam and sx. -Country Hills "DECLINED" to perform the sx two days before the date we had waited for citing the concerns I expressed to dr. Tong: Those were: 1. Did not authorize a 3 hr sx. She expressed it could take that long if a tooth or teeth broke off while being pulled and she had to "surgically remove the remain pieces." My response to her: Anesthesia most dangerous part of sx no autho for 3 hr sx. concerned about elderly dog's heart given pre sx anxiety. 2. Explained I wanted to wait in the waiting room and read my book during the period after drop off until my dog ready for sx as I knew dog would know I was there. FEARFUL of people and other dogs. Shelter rescue; for his adult life only knows and trust one person 70 yr old widow: me. County Hills DISALLOWED me to wait in waiting room for the hour or two before the sx was to start. was told I could wait outside in my car! At this point I thought to myself these vets have been nothing but disrespectful to the fact that they expect me to pay them MORE than I receive in Soc Security for a month for a 3 hr surgery and I am restricted to waiting in my car. I asked for refund for the expensive lab work since I was informed it was required for them to perform the surgery. I was told that was not an "option." No refund ever received. This has a happy ending. I am grateful for the poor service and disrespect by County Hills vets because I consulted with yet another vet by referral from a dog owner and friend, and I have found the Holy Grail of vets in the South Bay. More experience, more professional, reasonable prices (1/3 for the same services as quoted by Country Hills) My dog has had successful surgery and the vet and the office staff were top notch. The only focus they had from start to finish was on MY DOG and the service he needed. They even recommended antibiotics prior to sx date; something I expected from Country Hills but they failed to even discuss or recommend. I admit I selfishly do not want to discuss the name of the vet because they are always busy; but I WILL be writing a very positive review of their professionalism and the sx. provided. PLEASE KEEP SEEKING A VET WHO CARES MORE ABOUT THE ANIMALS THAN THE MONEY TO BE MADE. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY MARKETING TACTICS USED TO FOOL PET OWNERS INTO OVER PAYING. (i.e. Country Hills advertises they are AAHA certified, the last certification posted in waiting room 2017)Post note: It should be illegal to charge for an exam, vet take pictures of your dogs' mouth and then after that prepare an estimate for services that has a $1,000 spread between low and high price. What business service do you know that can do that?!) This office will blame the pet owner, over retrospect of their own "shortcomings/failures"

You have successfully defended the integrity if a death house for dogs. Thank you for admitting you abandoned Daisy at a crucial health period. Sugar coat the facts and even throw Dr. Elliot under the bus. Somebody, please stop the alleged doctor Cassidy coffin caravan for animals, pets, loved ones left for this team to dole off because the Mother of Daisy was intuitive and smarter than the vet to realize it was more than a bulged disc. This Cassidy slammed the door and provided the nails for Daisy's coffin. Daisy could not bresthe her airway blocked. CHAH will say it happened after to save their soul. Simple truth they didnt like being second guesse ny Daisy's Mother. She begged and pleaded, i personally appeared and never did Dr. Cassidy respond; instead she cowered behind closed doors. Insult to vets everywhere! Again, Daisy is in heven's protection, never to feel the abandonment encountered at COUNTRY HILLS ANIMAL HOSPITAL!! if they only cared....

Staff showed zero compassion for my loved one as she cried out in extreme pain in their reception area. This place claims to be an emergency animal care facility; however, APPOINTMENTS are required for your pet emergency. They told me to leave with my family pet while in anguish and go to a urgent care pet facility. Hell has openings for the office staff at Country Hills ALLEGED Animal Clinic.
