The reason I have a good respect for Hertz is 100% because of how well Rafael treated my son and I. Our car was in the shop and Rafael (from location: 18409 Hawthorne Blvd, Torrence, CA 90504) understood our concerns and really worked with us to make our experience outstanding. Very small rental, very small selection of cars. If you're looking for a sedan go elsewhere, as all they have are suvs. I reserved a sedan.It was not available. I ended up returning the car and going with a different rental company. Also almost no staffing at that location in the car I did get was not clean.
I had the car for a total of ninety minutes before I returned it. I was in a hurry to get to an appointment or I would not have taken the vehicle. They said they could get me a sedan, but then one of the people called around and said none of their early locations had them. The manager said he would try. But there were no guarantees, and i had a very limited time window in which to exchange the car and pick up a sedan. Also, their collision waiver policy is by calendar day, rather than twenty four hour period so the day you return the car, even if it's in the morning you get charged for that day which is a rip-off and one of the reasons I changed to Enterprise who uses a 24 hour charging period for the waivers. I was not told about the calendar day period prior to renting. Or I would not have rented there. Other rental companies use a rolling 24 hour period for the optional liability coverage. So as long as you return it within the 24 hour time period when you rented it, you don't get assessed. An extra charge, which is twenty five dollars a day plus tax. They refused to waive this charge. So I will be dealing with the corporate office. Thoroughly unacceptable experience dealing with hertz. Can't recommend them at least not this location. Forcing, bring the customer to take an SUV Because that's all they have is not acceptable. Especially when the customer made it clear ahead of time.They don't drive suvs. And then insisting that the SUV they put you in is the same size as your little Honda. Civic, it's just a taller vehicle ....unbelievable.

I made a reservaition before two days of the day I picked up the car, and when I went to the locaition to pick up the car ,the worker their we don't have a car for you, after I told him I will call Hertz and AAA, since I am a member with Triple A, he went to the room and cme back and said we found a car for you he gave me a key not an automatic Key, and said their the grey Nissan, without even going with me checking the car the Milage the scraches the fillth inside and outside the car, went by myself took a video and couldn't say anything more since I had to drive to Riverside to my client , I called next day ,they told me I have to go to the locaition and discuse it with them, I wouldn't go since the way the worker treated me , went to another locaition in San Pedro and asked him to change the car, he said he will call me tomorrow ,no one called me ,I paid full amout for a fillthy car smells and very dirty from the outside as well as the inside with a key 100 years old not an automatic key opener or atomatic seats, everytime I rent a car from Hertz probloms, disrespect Ignorent ,and since my Insurance with AAA that's who they recomends .I am very unsatisfied with the way they treated me and the Lies , very bad company ,I'll be putting this bad review all over the websites and over the social media, if they don't compensating me for my dispointment and money wasted on a company who they Hire very unqualified employees, No Manners no respect no smile on their faces .very bad .

They are Ok, my complaint is if you rent a Car at 4pm for example, they will set your return back time at 12pm instead of giving you the 24 hour period you are supposed to get which cuts off what you pay for, yet they want full pay. Unfair Business practices of which is not good. Hertz has a good reputation with me. I’m just more disappointed with the unfair return time. The Manager was Ok, at first I felt he was rude until I talked to him more. He seemed to be better.

Can’t say I had a good or bad experience I called and we were talking about what kind of car I might be interested in. I guess we got disconnected and the lady didn’t bother to call back so I called back one more time and the guy kept saying I can’t hear you I can’t hear you, I guess they were having some phone line troubles so that’s as far as it went . I was trying to see what kind of end of the month specials they had if any, but oh well The day must go on. Can’t say their bad salesman maybe just watch the phones better. He was saying he couldn’t hear me before I actually started speaking, so I don’t know maybe they were just busy.

I had a disappointing experience at this Hertz Torrance Hawthorne location & would advise potential renters to avoid this location. The customer service was notably poor, with frequent unavailability of cars and a disregard for Gold member benefits & privileges.
To make matters worse, the staff/Manager was rude & accusatory, questioning why I was trying to run their business. The agent unexpectedly required my Canadian passport, which was unusual. Canadian renters should be prepared to show their Canadian passports & even provide details of their home insurance, despite most credit cards covering collision damage waivers. I ultimately had to go to the LAX airport location, which was more expensive, or consider the Hertz location in Redondo Beach as an alternative. This experience was in stark contrast to the positive treatment I've received from Hertz as a Gold+ member in the past. While this incident was disappointing, I hope it doesn't overshadow the generally positive service I’ve experienced with Hertz over the years. This horrible experience is specific to the Torrance Hawthorne HLE location only.

The customer service here was wonderful. Super kind service, quick rental paperwork and MUCH easier than LAX for my local hire. Highly recommend.

? my representative miss Bonnie and Mr. Jamal at your Torrance Location and the team representatives are all to the highest caliber very intelligent found solutions made adjustments very friendly very patient willing to hear you out completely it is truly One of the Best representatives I have had the pleasure of speaking with. there are many agents they are all a wonderful team I just need to mention that because it is a great team! But I would like to see miss Bonnie and all my representative from my visit conversation and in person to be recognized. Tried calling on 2/17 for a rental car, spent 5 mins going through the directory and waiting for someone to pick up. The line just kept ringing. Never heard of a location that doesn't answer the phones?
