I can't say enough great things about Malaga Bank! Their customer service and response time is unmatched compared to my previous bank (BofA.) Phaedra Pruett was able to resolve my accounting issues quickly and professionally. She was also very personable and even asked me about my day which really turned my morning around. It's the little things and I can tell Malaga Bank genuinely cares about their clients.

I've been doing business with MB for about 8 years now and let me tell you A-1 service. Between 2 sometimes 3 branches I've not encountered anything other than positive experiences especially the Torrance branch on Crenshaw. They've helped out in numerous occasions in a suburb manner, anyone looking for a small but professional bank with a great sense of customer understanding will not be disappointed.

Such an accommodating bank, both Phaedra and Jessica are extremely helpful and accommodating. Love the feeling of a small bank where everyone knows your name. I highly recommend this specific location over the other ones especially Malaga cove.

When started my business, I opened my Business account at Malaga Bank And it's been one of the best decisions I've made since starting my company. When I came in, I met Phaedra Pruett and she helped me get things started. Now I'm not sure if everyone knows, but there are a lot of differences between a personal checking account and a business account, but thankfully I had such a knowledgeable and helpful banker like Phaedra to walk me through everything that I needed to make sure that everything was being done the correct way. Since then she has been so helpful, almost as if any issue I was going through, she was going through herself. When businesses say "WE CARE ABOUT OUR CUSTOMERS" nine out of 10 times, I don't believe it, but in this case, Phaedra is my 1 out of 10. So if you're looking to open any type of account and you want to be treated as a person and not an account number, you need to go see Phaedra at Malaga Bank.

This branch is awesome! I can't believe the people giving these negative reviews. Everyone that works here has been here a long time and is super helpful and they know all their customers. Saying they didn't help the property owner during Covid? Where is that in a banks job description? Their job is to keep your money safe and make good financial decisions. I love this branch!

This bank does not make any sense at all. I received a call before to deposit money so I can avoid an overdraft fee. When I called Phaedra gives me the third degree asking so many unnecessary questions to confirm I'm who I say I am. And yet they called me leaving my first and last name to confirm it's me....OK. Then she tells me to go out of my way to scramble for money in the middle of a pandemic just to cover an item then on top of that get charged for an overdraft fee that they don't even cover. I told her that makes no sense whatsoever to get charged and she argues and says it does. That actually doesn't make any sense because they are not even covering the item that been overdraft. What a damn dingbat. I told the d*** broad to then let it get overdrafted. The hell do I look like going out of my way to cover cost and on top of that get charged ridiculous fees.

As a 25+ year customer, I am incredibly saddened and disappointed with Malaga Bank. They were the local bank where I grew up and we lived across the street from Eric Allan, the bank's founder, and attended school with his kids. Eric would probably be rolling in his grave if he knew what was happening. In Spring of 2020, the mainstream media and government sent the Public into a panic over a "virus," which even according to mainstream sources has OVER a 99% survival rate. Nonetheless, our liberties, religious freedoms, and jobs were taken away, we were separated from friends and family, and "self-isolated" indefinitely. "Essential" businesses which remained open treated us like lepers. Unfortunately, this Malaga Bank was no exception. I swung by his branch to quickly use the ATM machine. No such luck! A cleaning lady was sterilizing(!) the machine with spray & UV light, and told me i'd have to wait 10 minutes to use it. (Yikes, what's in that stuff?!) So, I went inside to make a withdrawl and am greeted by an unmasked staff, who frantically put masks on. "You have to have a mask!" screamed Ana, in sheer terror. "Oh.." I mumbled, slinking back to my car, realizing I don't have one with me. And I'm going to have to cancel my immediate plan, go home and get mine. Now according to both History.com and M. Jacobs' book on the 1918 San Francisco flu epidemic: "the gauze masks city officials claimed were 99% proof against influenza were in reality hardly effective at all." They serve little other purpose than dehumanizing us. I had also checked the front door for mask requirements. Didn't see one. Ironically, there was a sign for: No Sunglasses, No Hats, etc. What's next for us? Will we all jump off a cliff when the governor says go? Cashless currency? (since the money may also have "cooties?!"). Yeeessh!! Well, gotta put my mask on & head back. It's sad to be a native Californian these days.

Do not do business with this institution. During this pandemic they have done nothing to support the governor in helping to relieve the strain on its property owners. This is greed in its true form. If I could give them a negative number I would.

I couldn't believe the negative reviews. I was thinking maybe they were about some other branch other than the one on Crenshaw in Torrance. I defy anyone to ever enter that branch without one of the employees greeting them in a positive friendly manner. One of the characteristics I love is that when the teller is busy one of the other employees always asks you to their desk to help you with your needs. A great place to take your banking business if you are tired of being greeted by apathetic indifference and would rather enjoy being met by friendly helpful staff.

This has become one of the most average to below average banks I have had to deal with. Unprofessional staff and rude bankers are at this location. This is your job and when you're on the clock it's time to be professional, not take things personally and provide excellent service. Malaga bank at the Cove on Via Tejon is probably one of the best out of the branches, you seriously couldn't even tell that the Crenshaw location is related or linked in anyway to the cove location! Mediocre to say the least!
