This is solely my experience and I feel scammed.
On my way to downtown Los Angeles from Torrance. I was following my google maps directions which lead me to an express lane for the 110 freeway. I entered for approximately 10 feet and was able to turn out into a metro parking lot. This was enough for them to charge me and after trying to tell them that I only entered and left they refused to waive the entire charge. Instead having mentioned that if I don't pay them the DMV will hold my license. I even have my trip on google maps for that day proving I entered and left also I recreated the route on google maps and it has me trying to take that same way again. This is the Harbor Gateway Transit Center entrance near Home Depot. If you are near there be careful. Now they have more signs at the entrance but still it can be confusing. I thought there were express lanes and normal lanes since gps was taking me there. Mind you I have "avoid toll roads", checked on my settings. This doesn't qualify as that and should be addressed. I feel cheated here

They sent me a $4.85 toll charge violation. I was positive I never drove on a toll road but still paid it cuz I didnt have time to deal with it. Now, 5 months later, I just got a refund on my Credit card. Totally surprised. Looks like they realised they made a mistake and made it right. Props to them for that.

Quintisha (may have mis spelled) She is the greatest.! So helpful. Knows what she is doing.!! I came in ready to remove my card off of auto pay and consider closing my account. Felt as if I was being over charged. She explained everything. Broke it down with ease and addressed my concerns. I am grateful. So pleasant from the moment I got to the counter. Thanks again.

Jasmine helped me out so much today her and whoever the supervisor/manager thank you so much for helping me. I had a huge mistake that I made. Not realizing my account was deactivated. I really don't pay attention to things and I have a lot of fines/penalties on multiple vehicles, when I walked in, I had all my transponders in a plastic bag trying to figure out a way that I was going to get to and from work moving forward they were able to work with me and have created a customer for life I still had to pay the penalties, but a payment arrangement was worked out and that is so much better having good customer service and people makes all the difference in the world thank you Jasmine for taking the time calling managers, etc. and getting me back on fast track :-) happy new year cheers to a bright 2024 ; )

Michelle that answers the phones is worse than a mall cop. This worker completely misgendered my client and would not take a payment because she felt he wasn't who he said he was. Completely unprofessional. Needs to understand the meaning of her role as a customer service worker. Your job is to assist not judge or hinder someone's day because you are biter about your job.

Beware of Hidden Fees at Metroexpress! I'm utterly disappointed and frustrated with Metroexpress. I've been a loyal customer with an active transponder, always ensuring it's functional whenever I use the express lanes. Imagine my shock when I tried to pay for my license and registration, only to find out that I've been slapped with over $800 in fees from Metroexpress! There was no prior communication or warning about these charges. It's unacceptable how they can impose such exorbitant fees without proper notification. This experience has completely eroded my trust in their services. I strongly advise others to be wary of hidden fees and poor communication practices at Metroexpress. #UnfairCharges #DisappointedCustomer

We've submitted evidence that a car we no longer own incurred toll charges we're not liable for. The Metro Express Lane 'system keeps asking for transponder info, trip info that cannot be had when the car is less a transponder. After the car dealer weighed in with even more proof that the car was traded in before charges were incurred, the Metro Express system responded they needed to know who the "new owner" is. What a disaster, we've spent more than 3 times the toll costs proving we're not liable only to be asked for more evidence. Unhelpful, illogical, operation

Three times this year while entering the fast pass lane on the 110, my transponder has failed to be read. It was read at other places along the route, but I still received a notice for toll evasion and have had to pay an extra $4 processing fee each time. If my transponder is clearly visible when I drive through and it doesn't get read, that's not my problem. But they aren't going to take the extra time to determine it was a mistake on their end by checking that it was read 3-5 other times while in that lane, and I'm not going to waste more time than I am writing this review to dispute a $4 charge. And they know this. Well played, Metro Express Lanes, well played.

Have not used their service for years, but they continued to charge a monthly fee. I paid for my lost transponder back in April and associated fees, and they are still charging me a monthly fee. Bad customer service.

Stopped having the commute where I could use this and tried to cancel the annual fee, which renews annually automatically. Can't do it online, have to call. The operator tried to talk me out of it. Said I have to return the transponder at my expense. I did so. Keep getting emails saying I need to log in. Can't, because my account has been suspended. So another call to confirm. This is a scummy business.

Went in to exchange an old and defective transponder. My transaction was quick and painless. The issues come from the staff having to explain the same thing over and over to the other customers. The representative I talked to had spent the previous 15 minutes, explaining the same thing to their previous customer over and over again. Payment methods, how much the auto refill is, if you have a card on file you can come here to pay, etc.. She must have explained everything 5 times and the person said they would have to come back when they had some money. Give they a break, they are doing the best they can.

Be aware of the fine print. Even if you don't use the transponder, you're still charged a monthly fee. I didn't know this until I received a bill in the mail after they had exhausted my unused funds. Imagine my surprise after three years of not using, thinking I still had a reserve, and then to receive a bill stating I owed them money! After a month, they deactivate you and threaten to turn your account over to a collection agency if you don't pay and return the transponder. Another money grab. Good riddance!
