“One of the best decisions I ever made was bringing my son to St. Abraam Preschool. He has been at this school since he was 8 months old. I find myself emotional knowing he is now 4 and leaving St. Abraam to go to TK. This preschool has helped me raise my son into the boy he is today. He is polite, smart, and has grown into such an amazing person. I am truly grateful to every teacher here. At the age of 4, he knows his ABCs, the organs of the body, the continents and so much more. It’s hard to say goodbye, but I thank you so much, St. Abraam, for everything.”

He had had a bad experience at another school before we decided to join L&B, and we were anxious when we first visited. Miss Jeong invited him to join her class on that first tour visit, and he was immediately comfortable with Miss Jeong and therefore so were we. Every single day he and we have experienced nothing but love, guidance, support, and challenges to help him grow and mature. Miss DeJahnae, thank you for your leadership of the center and also for your academic lessons, his skills have improved greatly thanks to your hard work. And I believe the culture of the center starts with you as the leader, and as a parent, the culture of your center is what I want for him. Stem, and Mr. Hunter, have made, I believe, a lifelong impression on him, that science and learning can be FUN and FASCINATING! “Both my kids have gone there. We moved far away (like 30 mins) so I tried sending my son to another local daycare that was almost twice as expensive and I can tell you nothing compares to North Torrance PreSchool. The staff there is incredible. The rooms are kept up. The equipment is kept up. You really can’t beat it. They know what they’re doing and we ended up going back to them and it’s totally worth the additional hour for dropping off and picking up our kid every day. We know he is safe and well taken care of. Go see it in person and tour with Ms Sandy. The website doesn’t do it justice.”

“This is a very small private tutor place/ after school program owned by a very passionated Taiwanese lady called Miss Luisa. She does not do advertising. So not many people know about it. People know it because they got referral. My son has been going there since 5 years old and he is 10 now. He really loves going to SBA even though there is no school. It is just like another family for him. He is not only learning knowledge there, but also learn how to be a good person. Besides doing homework there, my son always gets extra exercises from Ms. Luisa. My son is 4th grader, but he is already doing 5th/6th grade Math. He is at GATE program now and I don't need to worry about his academic work. Thanks to Ms. Luisa. If you are looking for a tutor place for your kids, I highly recommend SBA.”

“If I can protect my kids and delay some of the things school children are exposed to nowadays, I will try. This school still teaches values and faith. It's a great community of families, solid academics, wonderful faculty and caring administrators. We couldn't ask for more. The campus could definitely use some repaint and refreshing, but for the tuition costs vs the level of academics, it's a great deal. The academic grading scale in junior high is a bit high and academics are rigorous and some do struggle, but it's great preparation for high school. They also incorporate various opportunities for students to volunteer for both the school and community and provide activities to encourage leadership and mentoring skills. I would say "don't judge a book by it's cover". It's worth checking out.”

“My daughter has been at tutor time since she was an infant. She is now two. The other day we were she was sitting on my lap talking about love, respect, and feeling safe. I asked her who makes you feel safe, who gives you hugs when you are sad or having a hard time and she said Ms. Ari. She said she also makes my hair cute! Some parents might be upset they did not say “you mama.” Not me. I know she knows how much I love and care for her. This made my mommy soul smile. It makes me happy that she feels safe attending tutor time. Also, my daughter had a lump on her neck. Ms. Ari was doing her hair and brought it to my attention. She is fine and was checked out by her pediatrician. I bathe her daily and I did not see it. I did feel guilty for that but also very appreciative that her teacher was observant and let me know.”

“FLS has been such an awesome school for my kids (and to me as an alumni). I loved it so much as a student that I came back and did my student teaching hours here as I prepared to become a teacher and then as soon as I got pregnant, sending my kids here was the easiest choice I had to make. The new administration is so welcoming and very approachable. The office ladies are so helpful and always have a smile on their faces. My kids love their teachers, feel safe, are are getting the education they need to be life long learners. The teachers are helping to build their foundation of an awesome education. In my opinion, the FLS is an AMAZING school!!!”

“This is a long overdue review. First & foremost, I am 100% the kind of parent that does not trust her kids with anyone, even some family. I was skeptical about putting my daughter in any daycare. However, my hours changed at work & it would now require me to now seek a daycare for my daughter. As soon as we saw the facility, I was pleased (although I wasn't ready to admit it LOL). One thing about me is I'm very observant & skeptical. I was pretty much "looking" for a reason to not put my daughter in daycare lol As I was touring the facility, I wasn't solely weighing in on what the teachers & owner were telling me; I was weighing in on seeing how happy the children were, how engaged they were, & how everything was structured - playtime, lunch time, naptime, crafts, what they are learning, etc. My daughter just turned 2 at the time, & prior to that, she had been with me everyday, so this transition was really difficult for both of us. But, as parents, we need to do what we have to do. I decided to enroll her. As expected, she cried for the first few weeks upon drop off. But with how compassionate & attentive the staff was, she would be okay shortly after. The teachers & Ms Sheela would send me photos of her playing with the other kids, which was so helpful as I, too, was in this transition of my child being in a daycare. It gave me so much comfort & put my mind at ease. My daughter is now 3, & not only am i impressed with how well she talks, draws, & knows; but she is also writing letters & her name. Her motor skills are so impressive, & I'm always told by other moms & her doctors that she speaks so well. I did read some of the negative reviews, & although I can't speak for them - as a person who was "looking" for reasons to not put my child in daycare - FKLA has definitely earned my trust, as a mom. And THAT is quite difficult to do. I've even had my friends children start going here, because as moms, it's hard to trust your children with anyone. My friends love this facility & are also so grateful for FKLA. Bottom line - they have been patient, compassionate, kind, loving, & nourishing with my daughter. They have been patient, kind, & assuring the entire way with me, as a mom. It would be difficult to trust another facility again, after our experience here”

“I love hickory tree, my son has learned so much. The teachers are caring and come up with fun art projects and activities. Mrs Rosie and Ms Brenda are great and truly care about the kids. My child went in not really grasping vocabulary and now he's speaking very clearly and expresses his happiness with words. Overall a great school.”
