Of all the gym chains UFC is my favorite. I can't stand the business structure of LA fitness and their scammy feel from sales. UFC gyms are nice and always feel like home.

Not sure how a person can give a review without actually being a member of this UFC location but I'm about to!When I first walked in and up to the front desk, not even for a second did I feel welcomed by the staff. I asked for Benny the manager since we had exchanged texts earlier (TBH - it could have been a bot and not actually him). I was interested in checking out their facility since I was looking for somewhere that offered cardio/HIIT classes since I am already a member at a powerlifting gym. The only guy at the front desk approached me asking how could I be helped. I asked for Benny but he "stepped out" and said he could help me. The front desk staff were talking amongst themselves and I realized after I left that one of them actually trains at the powerlifting gym I go to (too small of a world - LOL). So Alfonso the Senior Sales Manager has me scan a QR code to sign in and I tell him that I am not there to work out today but would like the free pass that I signed up for. Of course, I wanted a tour of the gym as well. I mentioned that I already had friends that are members and I follow the gym's IG account so I am familiar with the DUT workouts which was what I was specifically interested in. Alfonso starts to go on about how I should have a coach and that I need accountability. SIR. I do not need a lecture on what I need. And all the while, his eyes are traveling up and down checking me out. Oh my bad, what color are my eyes??? Like yeah, I am NOT a skinny little thing but do not need to feel UNCOMFORTABLE while being given a tour. Oh did I mention I had my 11 year old son with me??? I kept my composure only because I had my son with me because lord knows I would have said something to Alfonso. A woman my age should not have to go through something like that in the presence of my child. So I left as quickly as I could and with no free pass. This facility lost a potential customer because the vibe I got was all kinds gross. I'm sure it's no big deal for them since they are a commercial gym. They'll find their next cash cow tomorrow. Disappointing though because UFC is a big industry and this type of treatment is an embarrassment to their business. SO GLAD I dodged a bullet not signing up today after reading all of the nightmare Yelp reviews from past members about cancelling their memberships.1 star rating only because I can't post this review without it

Probably the most snake and the grass gym I've ever been do not give them your card number they will take money out of your account everyone week. Horrible run place and scam artist. Fuck UFC gym scam artists.

This gym has a great friendly culture. Lots of equipment, lots of classes, friendly staff. Great hours. Only area of improvement is sometimes a bunch of treadmills are out or the sauna isnt always working. One of the better overall gyms

This gym is top notch. The friendliest team members! Skilled and friendly coaches to push you beyond your limits! The best workout classes in Southbay by far! Their classes will give you results in 2 weeks or less!!Great for families, my kids love the classes offered to the youth club also!Highly recommend!!

This is a review for the 11am brazillian jiu jitsu class as well as the general manager of the Torrance location, Benny, who told me this class was beginner-friendly. I wasn't planning on writing this review until I shared my experience with several experienced jiu-jitsu friends who urged me to complain that this class was not safe or well-taught. I went on Monday, using the free pass the gym offers to newcomers. I show up without a uniform which Benny said would be fine, and the instructor also said was ok. When I got there I said this was my first ever BJJ class, which is why I didn't have any of the Gi. Class starts off fine with stretching and then pairing up. The instructor doesn't give me any tips and our first (and second, and third) move are throws. I wasn't really prepared to throw or be thrown to the ground but I didn't want to rock the boat so I give it a try. I wasn't told how to fall safely until after my third or fourth throw, and even then I think the advice I was given wasn't very good because it starts to hurt my wrist. We just repeat the throws, alternating between my partner and I. Lots of terminology is used that I don't know and wasn't explained. Towards the end of the class they do "rolling" and the teacher had me watch for the first five minutes. The next five minutes I pair up with the other woman in the class and we roll. It was actually going pretty well because she gave me lots of pointers and I had a ton of respect for how strong she is, which surprised me. However at one point the coach called out to her to SUGGEST she do a choke hold. And she did. And then the coach laughed. At no point was I taught about tapping out, or when to do it, so she got a pretty firm choke on my neck that has been causing me pain for days after - pretty bad sore throat. The rest of my body is also sore, especially where I fell on my back. This was my first ever BJJ class, and I left with at least one injury, caused directly by the coach suggesting another student do a choke hold. This class was not only not beginner friendly, it's unsafe. I shared my experience with Benny the general manager who said he was sorry....and that was it. A poor experience all around.

I've been coming here off and on since 2014. Generally they keep a great atmosphere with pumping music like a Dance / Night Club. If you want that pumped up atmosphere, with the drill instructor shouting at you, music blaring, and mostly very fit, muscular people everywhere, this is YOUR gym. The strengths of this gym is getting you energized to work out. You definitely won't be bored exercising here. Other gyms like Lifetime Fitness ($230/mon) is focused more on quiet, relaxed, almost resort-like exercise with a spa and entertaining kids "school" activities. Planet Fitness is more of "don't judge, exercise at your own pace at a cheap price" kind of gym, but quiet. YMCA is a more of a "all ages, family focused gym for kids or elderly". UFC target customers, speaking from experience, are mostly people who truly want to get fit and muscled. The children at the Kids Gym are just as tough and hardcore mentality for exercise. It's not a "let's have some fun and mess around and laugh" kind of gym. It's a "get fit or get out" kind of mentality. If you love to exercise, especially martial arts and fighting/sparring, this is your ultimate gym.

Awesome gym but man, the music is the absolute worst. Edm remixes of the most random songs ever. Its so hard to get in the zone if you don't have headphones. Ufc if you're reading this please fix that music. Awesome gym though, clean bathrooms/lockers too.

There’s a trainer name Alexander who took advantage of a minor and had them sign up for training a it took $900 out of the account . They know a 15 year old isn’t supposed to sign papers for a signature for a card that they don’t own !!!!

Half the dumbbells are missing. No longer provide cleaning rags or anything to clean with. Got offered 249, 299, lastly 349 to renew; sales administration has no idea what they are doing. Trainer I worked with was awesome though.

Don’t sign up here, they’ll lie about the membership you buy plus when you cancel they’ll take money out of your account when you closed it for monthly fee that you don’t have. Make sure you don’t sign up and plus the sell manager is the one you wanna deal with

Gym is full of money-hungry dirtbags. I terminated my membership after weird charges were starting to be made. The staff there doesn’t care about making customers feel welcomed either. They charged my card 3 times after I terminated the membership & they are STILL trying to charge my card after continuously letting them know that I terminated my membership with them. This gym has NO MORALS.

There are no classes on Wrestling (hence taking off stars) or Muay Thai, two excellent foundational skills in MMA.⚠️But they have Bjj and boxing (kickboxing). ⚠️If there were wrestling, it'd be a top-tier gym in the area, without a doubt, for the hobbyist or experienced MMA practitioner‼A big bonus is the bodybuilder-style weights and workout equipment that this gym offers. ?You can pack on muscle here and have a good time boxing and doing BJJ here, so that's a plus for MMA fans who want to get in shape, feel like a badass, and be strong‼️??We need some takedowns??

Awful customer service! I was member for about 7 years and due to a problem with my health insurance coverage had to do some adjustments in my membership this April. I tried to join back but a membership specialist called Mo was so rude to me scolding over the adjustment I had to do and talking over me, yelling at me. It's so sad that a bad customer service makes business lose clients.
