Banfield San Jose off Meridean - I adopted an unfixed dog (chihuahua) from an elderly family member that was no longer able to keep her for health reasons. Decided to take her to Banfield in San Jose off Meridean in September 2023 to get her spayed, shots updated and to have her teeth cleaned. The front desk person told me that I better get the highest “wellness” package they offered since Chiquita needed so much, the total was $111.00 per month, I was told this would “reduce the out of pocket charges for all the services that she’d need”. After the vet looked at Chiquita, I was told that she had a heart murmur and a cardiologist would need to check her to determine how bad it was before we could schedule the other procedures. The cardiologist is only there once a month, we booked an appointment for the first available time which was a month out from then. The cardiologist cost an additional $500 and determined that Chiquita’s heart murmur is a 3/5, I was told that a veterinarian would call me to go over the options to move forward at 5:00 pm a few days later. I waited for the call but never heard back from a veterinarian, I called them and then I was told that “ I was supposed to call the veterinarian that day”… hadn’t been told that prior. I was in the middle of moving from San Jose to Lathrop at that time, life was extremely busy.Fast forward to now… I called Banfield requesting to downgrade the wellness plan for Chiquita since she can’t have the procedures that would require Anesthesia with her heart condition, but was told that I’d have to pay them an additional $500 for services ytd. before they’d could lower the monthly plan.Banfield charges are inflated, they are the “McDonald’s” to veterinarian services.I do not recommend and will not renew either of my dogs wellness plans, complete rip off with horrible communication.

It’s been a overall good experience for my family and our two dogs Dexter and Enzo. A pair of Queensland Healers. I appreciate the patience that the staff has because Enzo is very scared to go to the Vet and he is not the easiest to take care of because of this. I know that it’s hard but they never make us feel uncomfortable or self conscious over the “misbehavior “ of my pup. These things don’t go unnoticed.

Difficult to communicate with vet directly. Wouldn't make space during business hours for a dying dog who was on their insurance. Dog died from UTI while following treatment plan with them. Couldn't even help us make her passing comfortable. Offered an appointment a few weeks out ..

Extremely DissatisfiedI am writing to express my extreme disappointment and frustration with the level of care and service provided by your hospital over the past 2-3 months. My family and I have been visiting your facility with hopes of resolving our beloved pet's health issues, but instead, we have been met with exorbitant charges and a complete lack of improvement in our pet's condition. This unfortunate experience has taken a toll on our mental well-being, as we are all going through a state of depression due to your hospital's inadequate treatment.Our pet has been suffering from a persistent skin infection, and despite numerous visits and payments, there has been no discernible improvement in their health. It is disheartening to witness the continued deterioration of our pet's condition while being charged excessively for your services. We entrusted your hospital with the well-being of our cherished family member, but it seems that your staff fails to recognize the significance of treating pets as patients or family.I implore you to consider every pet that comes through your doors as a valued member of someone's family. It is only through this mindset that you can adequately understand the emotional and financial investment that pet owners make when seeking medical treatment. If you are unable or unwilling to provide the necessary care and attention, I kindly request that you inform dog owners beforehand, so they can seek alternative hospitals that genuinely prioritize the well-being of pets.I hope that you take this feedback seriously and reflect upon the impact your hospital's actions have on both pets and their owners. We trusted Banfield Hospital Tracy to provide competent and compassionate care, but unfortunately, you have failed to meet our expectations. It is my sincere hope that you will reevaluate your practices and make the necessary improvements to prevent other pet owners from enduring the same distressing experience.

Besides the fact that you're not allowed to go in w/ your pet the service here was A M A Z I N G and VERY welcoming. From the moment we walked up to the ending the staff make you feel so welcomed. The staff kept us updated through the whole visit. The DR came out to let us know how the visit went and recommendation, which I thought was VERY professional. While checking out ROSIE assisted us and man her customer service is a 10/10. She made us feel very comfortable, answered all our questions and lastly helped us get the best plan financially! Which is very nice because our first visit at another location they did not recommend us much it was more of a IN OUT appointment. ROSIE you are amazing and if you see this baby precious says thank you very much! :) Definitely looking forward to our next appointment in a couple weeks!

Absolute disgusting service. They fraudulently changed the billing to my ex-husband, but kept my name as responsible party on the account. They then sent me to collections after their mistake, and only apologized when called. I spoke with the manager Jules and she could care less about what happened. Front desk admitted they made the error, they will not honor The debt, only apologized for the money and credit hit. Do not use these people!!!

If I could give it no stars I would. The ONLY nice thing I have to say is Chelsea who answers the phone is lovely. Other than that Ive had subpar experiences with this facility. My Puppy was STOLEN from me yesterday and I tried to call and either put on hold or cancel my wellness plan since I don't have a dog right now. I was promptly told NO and you owe $500 if you want to cancel. WTF.. aren't I going through enough pain without rubbing salt in the wound, apparently not. I have filed a claim with the BBB and BTW their listing on BBB is 1.2/5 that's atrocious.

Twice Banfield pet hospital gave our dog a parvo shot and she got an allergic reaction to it. We paid extra for them to give her an injection so she wouldn't have a reaction. 3 hours later she welted up and had a bad reaction. The dr already left Banfield so we had to take her to emergency in Modesto. Never take your dog to Banfield in tracy.

This is the second Banfield that I've taken my dog to and once again she had an allergic reaction to the shots that they gave her and the allergic reaction started when she was under there care and they still sent her home!! If it wasn't for my in laws my dog would be dead! They had to take her to another hospital because Banfield couldn't help them. This is complete bullshit!!! Never again will I take my dog to a Banfield because they are unprofessional and everyone on there staff should be fired!!! This is ridiculous!!!! And I am going to call and get my money back because they did not do there job and did not help her one bit!

My first visit to Banfield in several years and I couldn't be happier with the service and the caring of my dog. I was so stressed out and scared and blossom reassured me and also told me she would make sure my dog was warm and had her blanket and would keep a close eye on her. She even called me during her stay to tell me how she was doing and give me updates on what she was doing in her kennel. The staff are amazing from reception to the back office. I felt like my baby was very cared for and they were very kind and warm to me knowing I was very scared for her. They sent her home with a prescription and I just noticed her name is on the bag with a heart underneath her name. Definitely recommend very happy, I made this choice today!

Amazing pet hospital ! The most caring and professional in the East bay ! If you are looking for a great place to bring your pets who at the end of the day are family then this is the place ! The dr's come out with compassion and explain everything to you , the techs and front desk workers are all very helpful with any questions you might have and handle all pets very well . The wellness plans are amazing. There is a plan for everyone and they are great at explaining and working things out with you .
