I am new to BOS and was impressed with their initial treatment of me that I gave them a box of See's candy and later a thank you card. Yesterday (04Jan2024) all this changed and out of the blue I receive a very harassing and threatening call from the Sonora branch manager (Ms. Melanie) that I forged a company check and she demanded $5k immediately. For one thing, calling me outside business hours and at home was not appropriate & unprofessional. Typically banks handle this via sending a letter via USPS mail for documentation purpose. I tried to get a straight answer and Ms Melanie was very impolite and not professional to say the least. I requested, in order to get an explanation, to come into the office and did so with my spouse. I met with Ms. Melanie and her supervisor, Ms. Gretchen, the same day as the call. Both immediately started accusing me of giving them a forged check and demanding $5k immediately. I never did receive an answer and/or justification as to why they accused me of forging a check & they subsequently called the Sonora police to further threaten and harass me. I spoke to the police officer and he mentioned the police report filed against me was baseless & I should call the BOS regional manager (Ms. Christine Reza) who never returned my call. The police agreed that I should file a civil lawsuit in this situation. Lesson learned--banks are not community leaders and often too overzealous--customers beware!!' See letter. Post review note (05Jan24): The BOS VP operations spoke to me and I agreed to remove with a stipulation that BOS retrain their staff to treat customers with more respect and dignity when related to delivering difficult information to customers when the situation is in a gray area and the benefit of the doubt should be taken rather than reacting hastily and damaging customer relation. I will remove the review next week to make sure bank keeps their promise to me. This is what I wrote to Yelp as justification to remove the review: The VP of BOS (Ms. Teresa) requested I remove the review as new information was discovered, by the bank, and I decided to remove the review in light of the discovery. I communicated to the bank VP that their employees need to be retrained on customer satisfaction as a stipulation for the removal of this review.

**Terrible Experience Dealing with Bank of Stockton**I cannot express how utterly disappointed I am with the Bank of Stockton. As the executor of my deceased uncle's trust, I had the unfortunate task of closing his account. Little did I know that this simple process would turn into a nightmare of epic proportions. From the very beginning, Bank of Stockton refused to acknowledge the validity of my trust paperwork. They insisted that I needed an attorney to proceed, adding unnecessary complications to an already emotionally distressing situation. Reluctantly, I hired an attorney, hoping that this would speed up the process. To my absolute frustration, it took seven visits to the bank and three additional visits to the attorney just to get them to acknowledge the legitimacy of my paperwork. The countless phone calls made between the beginning and the end of this ordeal only added insult to injury. The inefficiency and lack of professionalism displayed by Bank of Stockton during this entire process were simply appalling. What baffles me even more is the stark contrast in service when compared to other banks. I decided to reach out to Chase, and within three days, they efficiently processed the necessary paperwork and released the funds without any hassle whatsoever. This stark contrast highlights the sheer incompetence and lack of empathy displayed by Bank of Stockton.I am deeply dissatisfied with the Bank of Stockton's handling of my situation. Dealing with the loss of a loved one is hard enough without having to endure the unnecessary stress caused by the incompetence of a financial institution. I strongly advise anyone considering banking with Bank of Stockton to think twice. The lack of professionalism, efficiency, and compassion demonstrated during my ordeal is utterly unacceptable. Save yourself the headache and choose a bank that values its customers and their time.

Terrible bank, I have a loan with BOS, I try to add my external bank account to BOS internet banking. I have tried countless times and they all fail. I contacted customer service and got the answer that the system is faulty. I have to call every month to talk about it and everything is still the same. Then, I got their recommendation by filling out their form by email, I live in San Jose. I filled out the application and then they asked me to call them back, and they said they didn't accept the application. Finally, now every month I have to pay 16$ for payment by phone. I feel frustrated because I lose money and time every month, and THIS IS NOT MY Fault.

I've had the worst banking experience of my life here. I came in to sign up for a simple checking account. After handing the teller my I.D. the teller told me they'd be up promptly to assist me. After waiting for about 5 minutes the teller who I was told would be assisting me proceeded to help the customers that came in after me with a loan. After waiting another 10 minutes she excused herself from the other customers, walked up to me and began telling me about my checking options. I could not believe what I was seeing. After choosing which account I would like she went back to helping the other customers, leaving me to sit there another 15 minutes. Another bank teller, seeing that I had been sitting there for a while comes up to help me, at which point the original teller shoo's her away telling her "she's got this" leaving me to sit there waiting again. I was quite frustrated at this point. After waiting another 20 minutes I am finally helped by the teller, I guess she had finished up with her "more important" clients. I will not be coming back to this bank in my lifetime, and I will warn anyone I know looking for a bank to stay away from this place. They do not care about you, or your experience. The Bank of Stockton is truly, banking at its worst.

After being treated so poorly by the Brentwood branch, the manager of the Tracy Branch made it right! They showed professionalism and respect to me and my husband. Thank you Anthony, Maria, and Pam!

I banked with Bank Of Stockton for three years without a problem. When I closed out my account to move to a closer bank, they charged me $8. I guess they just couldn’t resist hitting me with one last fee as I was on my way out. It left me with a bad experience and I doubt I’ll be doing business with them again.

This is the worst Bank to do business with for Auto Loans! I recently paid off a car loan with this poor excuse of a bank. I paid it off early because the customer service with Bank of Stockton is so horrible I wanted to severe any and all relationship and business with this pathetic organization. For 3 years I dealt with a lack of responsiveness, knowledge and professionalism regarding simple questions pertaining to the auto loan. if you want specific answers on early payoff, they don't have it. If you want specific answers on amoritization, they don't have a clue. The online banking system is archaic and limited to say the least. The people providing customer service very rarely respond in a timely fashion and when they do, they are rude and unprofessional. This organization is so bad I only wish they go bankrupt and fold. Upon closing of the loan, I waited for the title for 2 months, only to find out someone (In Their Office And Without Permission) arbitrarily changed the mailing address to an apartment I lived in 2016...without putting the apartment number on the address. Subsequently, I've had to spend hours with DMV attempting to resolve this issue and it is still unresolved! I am being asked to pay a change of address fee when the address on ALL OF THE LOAN DOCUMENTS have the correct address and Bank of Stockton took it upon themselves to change the mailing address...for ZERO reason and without permission! To date, I am still awaiting a response from their loan department! If you are in the market for an auto loan, I caution you to stay away from this bank!
