When mom/pop places like these lack quality, then so called places like chipotle and alike come in with some consistency and put these places out of business. Tried this place first time and quality of food was way below average. Those who give this place 5 stars for food have never tried real Mexican food. Other than chips and salsa food had no flavor. Would’ve been better off getting frozen burrito from gas station. Owners need to put some effort in quality not just warm up and serve. Average service

If you want a drink the place is ok. If you are looking for Mexican food, do not go here. I admire the effort, and the service is ok, but food is absolutely not.First Mexican restaurant we have visited that doesn't serve coffee either.

Dropped by here with a few friends on a Monday eve at 830pm- It was pack and for good reason. I ordered a michalada to start. It was delicious!! I will definitely come back for these on my next trip to reno.I had the carnitas platter with pinto beans and rice. My friend had the chicken chimichanga with beans and rice. Both plates didn't stand a chance to see a Togo box.

We recently moved to the area and was recommended this spot by a few people who raved about the food. We will not be going back, the burrito was small and packed with 75% beans and 25% meat. I could barely get it down it was so dry, my girlfriends order was also wrong and bland. The bartender would ask if we wanted our check, we would reply yes and he would leave to make drinks. This went on for twenty minutes! Definitely not worth it!

I had high hopes to try Casa Baeza based on a recommendation from a neighbor. The food was bland and below average compared with other local Mexican restaurants. The staff was friendly and service was prompt. I ordered a beef enchilada and chile relleno combination. The enchilda was fairly flavorless and bland. Despite having lots of red sauce there was no spice whatsoever. The chile relleno had a bit to mech batter and was soggy and also very bland. The beans were a tad undercooked and overall the food was a bit tepid. I considered taking a covid test when I got to home see if I had lost my sense of tase, but I had some snacks and they tasted normal and fine. Maybe the restaurant was having an off night but I won't return to try them again.

We ate at Casa Baeza last night and were sad to discover that the menu is much smaller than what is online. We specifically went for the fish platter and the fajitas. Neither of those items is on the menu anymore. We could have gotten up and left once we realized the menu was not the same, however we were tired and hungry and so we decided to give it a chance. While the service was excellent, what we did have to eat was rather ordinary. And to be honest the food came out awfully quickly to have been prepared specially for us. The stuffed chili relleno was stuffed with nothing. And it would have been nice to have had a choice between pinto beans and black beans, but we were not offered any choice.

Great vibes and decent food. I’ve had better Mexican food before but it was still enjoyable. Respectable prices and friendly staff, though the salsa was very runny and the food took quite a while to be cooked. Really cool water pitchers too!

This place is cute. The waitress was super sweet, attentive, and let us have a table 5 minutes to close (we were starving after being stuck in slow snow traffic for hours and everything else was closed). The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere and the food was pretty good. I had a chicken taco salad and my boyfriend had the giant taco with al pastor. Both were fresh and hot, but lacked in spice. Their house made habanero is the best habanero I've had though! Decent pricing. The rice and beans were cold with my boyfriends food.

We were at NorthStar skiing and ordered takeout from Casa Baeza. Well priced and delicious. I highly recommend and will be back on our next ski trip.

Man what a shame. We have been going here for years! Our first night back after a year or so and the food has changed :( and not for the better. My cheese enchilada wasn’t melted really and was hard. The beans were whole pinto beans and very dry. Our once very loved and fave place to go in truckee, no more.

Overall great experience at this restaurant. The food is good and the atmosphere is fun. Typically the margaritas are great but once in a while they use too much Madori (not sure why that’s necessary in margaritas) but please stop using so much (or any) Madori in the margaritas…especially the canned margaritas.

Random stop on a Tuesday to find $1.50 tacos at 930pm. In and out in 20min. 10/10 recommend

The menu has all the stuff most would be looking for. And one thing I think many wouldn't expect. Everytime I'm in Truckee, I make sure to stop by here to eat. And I usually try and take a friend as well. The staff are genuinely friendly and attentive. And the food is delicious. It's tucked along a side road, so can be difficult to find. But I promise it'll absolutely be worth it!

I consistently go to Casa Baeza for their drinks, atmosphere, & proficient staff. When I eat, the food is often exemplary. Cesar understands what it means to be part of Truckee's community. An endless supply of local faces supports the cause.
