Don’t look any further!! One of the best experiences I’ve EVER had! There is not enough stars to show my gratitude for such a well ran company. From booking to transportation to the safety briefing to our guide, Seaweed, the entire experience has left me longing for more! 👏👏👏

If you are an occasional white water rafter - you know that guide who sits in the back is who really will make it or break it - experience of going down the river. We went down the Truckee river up to level III with Kai - this man knows the drill!
Guides are different breed of people - don’t expect them to support your Taylor Swift talks - they will talk rivers, rock climbing, mountain biking in the summer, skiing, snowboarding and who knows what else in the winter.
Overall we enjoyed the trip. 7 mi of beautiful weather in August, river is on the calmer side, still some kicks here and there but this is why you need your guide who knows what to do - it may be calm, but it’s tricky! Kai saw where we needed to speed up or lay low.
Looking forward to come back late spring/early summer to do it again when there’s a little more volume.
Also colors are starting to turn on the hills! I enjoyed how passionate guides about local nature.
Didn’t get any pictures as pricing seems to be on the higher end.
Thank you!

Excellent team building event. The guide was very knowledgeable regarding the area and skilled in navigating the current. He was able to navigate the water in a way that maximized our experience. Great guide (Kai)!! I will definitely do this again presenting the chance.

Five stars for the professionalism, quality, friendliness, equipment, experience, everything pretty much.
ZERO starts for the overpriced, aggressive-sale-tactics, fraudulently-charged photos! Explanation below.
You cannot bring your phone or camera onto the boat, they could drop into the water or at least get very wet. So, they're nice enough to have a "photographer" follow the tour along the river and take your photos. Nice piece of service offering, right? Problem is, the price and the sales tactics around that service are both outrageous, and even worse, that whole charge is a fraud.
Would you pay $75 extra on top of the $400 tour cost (for a family of four), or 19% extra, for photos of your experience? If you think this is a fair price, great. Maybe I would, too. But it just would have been nice if they had mentioned that on their website next to the text "Action Photography in the biggest rapids." Yes, you're looking at a clearly fraudulent hidden cost.
Of course, you don't HAVE to pay that photos fee of you don't want your photos, even though you were promised those photos on the company's website.
Still, it appears that most people do pay. The reason? Aggressive sales tactics. Here's how it works:
They load you onto the bus with a bunch of strangers, riding towards the river. With everyone crowded on the bus, the "photographer" gets up and tells you about the "special deal": Commit to buying the photos now (sight unseen) and you'll get a significant discount! Fifty something dollars instead of $75. Wow, what an amazing deal! Then, he immediately starts passing around this piece of paper for you to sign... Well, everyone else is signing. Peer pressure, anyone? Well, I have to sign too, no? It must be worth it!
Here are a few alternatives for how that would be done without the aggressive sales tactics, just to make the point clear:
1. Charge the photos fee at registration
2. Charge the photos fee at check-in
3. Charge the photos fee at checkout
4. Charge the photos fee at checkout, after customer gets to see if the photos are worth anything.
And, once again, the fee should be ZERO given the misleading statement on the website "Action Photography in the biggest rapids.".
To the Tahoe Whitewater folks: you guys are really nice and professional, and the experience was great. You seem to run a tight ship. I hope the business is going well. You should reconsider this terrible policy. Best of luck.

Greetings, Broseidon here. Self-Proclaimed leader of the Bro Squad. I don’t think you can choose who your guide is but if you are fortunate enough to find yourself on Brosephanie’s (Simone’s) vessel-consider yourself to be one of the luckiest mortals on the waters of Mount Olympus. Her tact, skill, and charm are second to none. She prioritizes safety while also supporting a fun and exciting environment. Tahoe White Water Tours rule!

We had such a great time on the half day trip on the Truckee River. Going from beginner to a few class III rapids, there’s a bit for everyone.
Our guide James was funny, informative, and ensured we had a great time.
Highly recommend this company. I wouldn’t recommend children under 12 do this ride as the latter rapids are challenging and can be dangerous (many kids who were on the river that day freaked out after one of them and had to pull off the river). Just one opinion!
In any case, use this company and do this or the full day truckee river ride!

Tahoe Whitewater Tours is fabulous. Yesterday, we ran the Truckee River from Boca to Floriston with a mix of experienced and first-time paddlers. TWT's team catered to both providing excellent instruction, safety measures, and raft control while adding fun interaction with other rafts. Of eight boats, not one person ended up in the river involuntarily while the other tour company in front of us had multiple dumps. Guides also share local history, wildlife information, and environmental science throughout the trip (thank you Austin!). I'm looking forward to running one of the Carson and American with this team one day. PS. Definitely get the photo package from their partner BaseCamp Photos - Chris not only captures every boat's run through one of the rapids with a series of shots, but also the safety and set up, surrounding scenery, and flora and fauna (there was a river otter!).

I recently had the pleasure of embarking on a river rafting adventure with Tahoe Whitewater Tours, and it was an unforgettable experience! From start to finish, the trip was perfectly organized, thrilling, and enjoyable, thanks in large part to our incredible guide, Madison.
We were a diverse group of adventurers, most of whom spoke Spanish instead of English. Madison impressed us with her ability to communicate seamlessly in Spanish, ensuring everyone felt included and understood. Her linguistic skills were only the beginning of what made her such a standout guide.
Madison’s expertise on the river was evident as she navigated us through the rapids with ease and confidence. She provided clear instructions and ensured everyone’s safety while making the experience exciting and fun. Her enthusiasm was infectious, and she went above and beyond to create an environment that was muy divertido!
The scenery along the river was breathtaking, and Madison knew all the best spots to pause and take it all in, giving us plenty of opportunities for photos and moments of reflection. Her passion for the outdoors and commitment to providing a memorable experience was palpable.
I highly recommend Tahoe Whitewater Tours to anyone looking for a thrilling adventure on the water. Whether you’re a seasoned rafter or a first-timer, Madison and the rest of the team will make sure you have a fantastic time. Thank you, Madison, for making this trip an unforgettable experience! We can’t wait to return for another ride down the river.

Wonderful! The team of people running this company looks out for each other and their guests incredibly well. I’m so grateful for their thoughtfulness and priority to ensure a safe, fun time for families. It was our (me, my younger sister, and my younger brother, ages 13 year old to 22 year old) first time whitewater rafting. It sets in motion for many more to come! We want to give a special shoutout to our guide Nate. We rode class I to class III rapids and Nate was an excellent guide. The guides are prepared for spins, falls, bumps, and splashes no matter how big or small. You’ll learn about the history of the river and get to see so many surprising, epic sights. There are moments to catch a breath in midst of the fun. There’s an option to buy photos taken by a professional - TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY. It’s an additional about $70, yet worth the great shots that are taken.

This was so relaxing and exciting all at once. We took our boys ages 3, 8, and 10 and we all had the best time!! We were able to raft down the river with ease, hop off when we wanted and the towards the end got a short glimpse of what wild river rafting is all about. Staff were super friendly and we were out in the river for about 2.5-3hrs. The experience is worth every penny!
