It was a great stay! Shoutout to Emily and Jay from the front desk and Chris from Valet. They went above and beyond to make me and my family have a great stay. They were so friendly and really made us feel at home.

This place was a complete mess. Didn’t check us in until 30 minutes past our check-in time and then we waited for bags while missing our dinner reservation. And nothing, not even a legit “I’m sorry.” Im fine paying the outrageous rate for outrageously good service. But this place was so frustrating. Don’t do it.

Lousy service, below average food = over priced. Attended a wedding on 1/19/24 that was amazing and the credit goes to the wedding planner not the hotel. The service was not up to par, food average at best which then made the food over priced. Example- sat at the bar to watch a football game Saturday 1/20 and one of the bartenders (Eric) rudely comes over and removes the menu's in front of us saying he needs them for when it gets busy. No mind you the people with us spent $10's of thousands of dollars on their wedding at the property and we had just started ordering food. We are not the only people who experienced it, however, the wedding planner (a non-Ritz employee) did an amazing job with the wedding set up and the one good service was housekeeping.

Facilities are nice but there is dog poop in and around the grounds. I understand that people bring their dogs with them but they should enforce a policy so they have to clean up after them. We went there with our family and had lunch at backyard BBQ and I had to constantly warn the kids to be careful since there were tracks of someone who stepped on it and walked all over the snow. I also personally saw a woman let her dog go right on the snow near the benches where people eat and just walked away without cleaning it up. Staff at the Ritz are always nice and friendly but this takes a way the ambiance of the Ritz Carlton

After calling to see if we could drive up for lunch when we got there we found out there is a $50 parking fee. This was not mentioned on the phone call. FIFTY DOLLARS to park for lunch.

We truly enjoyed our stay. The facility is great and the staff is very attentive and helpful, especially Frank. They went above and beyond to ensure that we have a memorable experience. Dining options are limited but of high quality. I would definitely stay at the same hotel in my future trips.

Spacious and cozy room with modern facilities! They’re pet friendly, which definitely made our stay super memorable with our fur babies. Our slope side, mountain view room came with a huge balcony that we also love. Their location and mountain concierge service made skiing and snowboarding a breeze ⛷️?Noteworthy details: The Mountain Concierge at the Ritz is the ultimate luxury for any skier/snowboarder! They take over your equipment from the moment you’re checking in, including boots and skis/snowboards. When you’re ready to ride, simply check them out from the Mountain Concierge slope side and be on your way! They even put your boots on a heating rack to make sure they dry overnight.

The Ritz experience starts even before you enter the doors with the well clad valet team and the bell men who welcome with alacrity. In the week we stayed there not once did they let us even open the door. One has hardly entered the doors when a reception team welcomes every member of the family individually. Bottles of champagne rest on a reception cart and drink are served generously 24 hours. After a drink and an efficient check in the reception desk manager takes you personally to the rooms. The lobby is large and every corner welcoming. We had lunch in the lobby and had a German heritage server named Carlos. The food was not delectable but the server was so pleasant and understanding that what we lost in taste we gained in service.I can irrevocably state that the Ski valet is the best I ever ever experienced and this property is emblematic for Ski in Ski out.The closest town, a small all American town is 20 minutes but curtsy shuttle which runs every hour is always available and the young drivers are an embodiment of the word curtsy.I being a discerning observer of people can write a paragraph on the excellence of service of every employee but I cannot finish the review without mentioning a few individuals who makes the stay indelible . Top of the list are Kenneth Brewer whose love for the hotel and its location is seethed into every cell of his body and the young Mexican front desk manager Daniel Terrazas who talks of Ritz as his own property. They both would leave no leaf unturned to make the stay comfortable and memorable. The managements excellent training of all these years has helped shape their debonair demeanor into all the staff.I would also like to recognize and Leah Bauer andher excellent and genial staff who make having a breakfast a delight.“This note will not be consummate if I would fail to mention that the property is very expensive and is not for the faint at heart nor for the parsimonious for pleasure cannot be weighed in a pecuniary scale. Just the use of valet for skiing if not staying at the hotel is $500.@Khanaphorism

This is a 5 star place with 5 star service. Staff was outstanding and location perfect for enjoying all the Northstar has to offer. Had a wonderful visit early Jan 2024. Frank Frank was particularly outstanding with his ability to listen and proactively address any concerns. While you do I have to pay a premium, I will continue to save for luxury experiences as this fine property.

Everyone from the time we stepped onto the gorgeous property was beyond amazing. Shoutout to the manager Colin, Frank, Bridgette in Manzanita. This is by far the best Ritz we have stayed at. The hospitality is above and beyond what we ever have seen or expected. The smores were not just bagged up for us, it was a beautiful display with different flavored marshmellows! We were impressed everyday! The kids activities were a big bonus. The slopeside hottub was so memorable my kids still talk about it. The amazing ski in/out feature made everything SO easy for us without lugging our equipment. The rooms were nicer than many other ski hotels we have been too, with large luxury bathrooms and a nice fireplace! I highly recommend this hotel over and over again! Our family was almost in tears leaving the staff and hotel after 5 nights.

Your staff has been so wonderful to us that I owe you all another review. My wife and I are continually blown away by the level of attentiveness and accommodation to our every preference whenever we stay here. Not only do they allow dogs, but they make our two boys feel as special as we do. Being able to finish a day on the slops by just unclipping from your bindings and letting the staff take it from there is true luxury. As is returning to your room to find the turn-down service complete so you can relax after a great day of skiing and snowboarding at Northstar. This is truly a perfect resort on a nearly perfect ski resort: Northstar. Special kudos and thank you goes to the following people: Ken: you are a gifted professional and deserve the success you have clearly earned. You turned a potential 2 start experience into a 5+ after that brief hiccup. Eric at Manzanita: Even though we prefer not to drink alcohol, we had a wonderful time eating dinner at the bar and chatting with you and Alexa. We are difficult customers to please and you succeeded on every front. Katie at the gym: You're awesome and the Ritz made a great decision hiring you. My dogs loved meeting you. Ned has always been a good judge of character, so he gave his paw stamp of approval. The staff at Cafe Blue: (I'm going to unintentionally screw up your names) Gonzalo, Sashi?, Iwoman? (sorry!) You went above and beyond in helping me find that one thing. I can't believe you found it and even found a way to get it to us at the last minute! Unbelievable. Most trips leave me eager to return home towards the end. But in this case, I am already eager to return back to the Tahoe Highlands Ritz. See you all again next year I hope, Nick.
