The staff at the nursery are super helpful. The owner, Eric, is one of the most knowledgeable botanist I’ve ever met. He knows every area of Truckee-Tahoe and can tell you exactly what will grow in your micro climate. They carry a wide variety of native plants and trees.

Love this place, staff is so helpful and knowledgeable! I am going to attempt to grow a lawn this year and they got me all excited and confident about it. Nice to have a local place to go to get specific information on our soil and growing plants in the mountain environment.
Our hours change with the climatic seasons and in response to our clients needs. Villager Nursery is a relaxing and intriguing retail space with instructive and inviting pathways through demonstration gardens, art, pottery, and an astounding display of the best plants available for our challenging conditions. Owners and staff love plants, and care about their coworkers’, colleagues’, growers’, friends’ and clients’ successes and willingly share knowledge. We maintain and modify our gardens and plant selections as our gardens grow and our clients’ interests evolve. We collect seed and experiment with the widest variety of locally native plants to offer and use whenever possible. We continue to learn, and share what we learn, daily.
