Word After Word Books is a fantastic and wonderful independent bookstore, a highlight and treasure in downtown Truckee. The store offers a wonderful and great selection of hand-picked books, including curated fiction, local books, and books featured on TikTok. It has a fun kids section and a beautifully laid out, modern feel. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and provides perfect and excellent recommendations. After browsing the thoughtfully categorized selections, visitors can head downstairs to the basement for a record shop featuring vinyl and quirky gift options. The store also sells games, journals, stickers, and gifts, making it a great place for inspiration when shopping for others or for finding gems for yourself. They will gladly order any book not in stock. It is a magical and whimsical place that provides a truly A+ experience.

Stopped here to browse a few days ago. A decent selection especially given that Truckee is a small town. There is a strong collection on the history, culture, sights and activities of and in the Sierra mountains. The staff was also extremely friendly and helpful.
