terrible...dropped off car with a damaged radiator and after amonth and a half got the car back and it overheated 2 days later w/ damage and I checked it out and 10 minutes later when I got to the thermostat and the bolts were rattling around!!!! When I told them what happened they replied, "Thats your problem." and only held out there hand and said,..."We fix for $1500." On April 11, 2023 I was in a minor accident and I ran into a large commercial vehicle at @ 20 MPH on the 2 FWY (N). After failing to get the truck to pull over I exited the freeway and pulled over. After determining that I had a compromised radiator, I had the car towed @11 miles 1/2 from my home. (I had used up all my available tow miles. The next morning, I walked to my car and tried to fill the radiator and confirmed that it was damaged and leaking. I started the car and it sounded fine so I immediately dropped it off in front of the mechanic in the complaint. I had already confirmed that the insurance would cover the storage fee so I engaged the mechanic and his son (I believe) to give me an estimate. But as the car had started to heat up before I exited the 2 FWY I asked them to do a compression check first to be safe. They told me $3600 and suggested they would be done in 3 days. I told them wait until my settlement arrives and do a compression check again, Finally on 05/05/23, my settlement arrived and before I went to the bank I told them to get the paperwork ready and let me know what the check "readings" were. On the same day, when I got there, they had not prepared an estimate and apparently had not done compression check, but had received the hood and lighting assembly. But I wanted to be sure we were communicating accurately so I went to my neighbors who spoke Armenian and he followed me over to confirm my expectations. They had drafted a rudimentary looking receipt page with very little detail and my neighbor said they wondered why I wanted a compression check. I told him to explain to them I had been in a similar situation before, and had wasted 1000's of dollars in repairing body work, only to find my car "allegedly:" had a blown head gasket also. I had been told always do comp check when buy a car or think there is any chance you have damaged the engine. I told them I would only give them $2000 until I got the readings on each cylinder and a detailed estimate. After being told 3 days again, a week passed and they said they were waiting on the A/C compressor when I asked, But told me they compression check was good at 141 and handed me a much more thorough estimate so I agreed to give them another $750 in cash on 5/19/23. As my financial situation required me to get back to work ASAP, I daily checked in on them and after telling the son I needed to get back to work, he told me , "not my problem." On top of that I spoke to a friend who rebuilds VW vans, and he told me that its virtually impossible to find an engine with a 100,000 miles on it with the exact same pressure readings on each cylinder. Finally, I got them to finish on 05/25/23. Getting ready to close they promised me a receipt the next morning and I needed to get to work. I looked over the car and it sounded good so I was hopeful. Two days later, on the 210 FWY I noticed the temp guage start to spike and pull over with the needle only hitting the red for a few moment. I waited for about 45 minutes filled the radiator with 1 gallon coolant and 2 gallon water and started to head the additional 4-5 miles home, but had to stop and repeat the same thing one more time. When I arrived, and entered the shop telling him what happened the mechanic and his son(?) popped the hood, and almost instantly told me it was the head gasket and then said, "$1800.00." I asked them shouldn't they try to see why the car had overheated again, right after they had supposedly fixed the radiator and "bleed cooling system?" After a couple more days more of conversations and them only asking for more money I decided I had to try

This is the worst f**king automotive repair shop in Tujunga. They lied to me for a week telling me my Van would be ready. The repair was only 7 hours to complete and they took a week and stop answering the phone after 3 days and refuse to call back or respond to my text messages, after they asked me to text. DO YOURSELF AND FAMILY A FAVOR A STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE CONARTIST. I WILL BE CONTACTING THE BBB, LOCAL AUTHORITIES ABOUT THE HORRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICE!

I brought a car that I was test driving to be inspected last week. They were able to take me in right away and get it done foe me, which I am very grateful. They didn't charge very much either. He gave my a car a pretty good report. He noted a few potential future maintenance issues. Pointed out a couple filters that need replacing. He also told me that the oil was good and that the tires and brakes were new. This is the point where I kind of knock off a couple stars though. I had brake problems almost immediately on my drive home. They weren't constant -- they were intermittent over the next couple days, but I could feel metal grinding against metal. I took it to a mechanic near my work who, after a quick visual inspection, said the front brake pads needed replacing. I paid him feeling like I might be getting lied to (I didn't tell him the brakes were new), and since then my car has been running perfectly.I like car. I'm really glad I bought it. I'm very appreciative that he was able to get my inspection done right away, without which I wouldn't have bought it. But it is odd to me that he pointed out specifically that my brakes were new when they clearly needed replacing. Maybe they were new but weren't installed right? I don't know. I'm inclined to believe the second guy though because my brakes work now and they were sometimes grinding before. In any case, it's a minor issue for buying a used car. I'm very happy with my purchase and I'm thankful to So Cal Auto Clinic for their part in helping me purchase it. I kind of wish they had found the problem with my brakes when doing the inspection though. I can't really give them five stars when another mechanic had to diagnose and fix what they had told me was good.

Would not recommend. Their repair philosophy it to just start repalcing things till something fixes the problem. Their business practices are not very fair either.I brought my camry in a couple months ago to diagnose some low engine power I was experiencing. When I came in, the mechanic said it would be $60 for a diagnotic which I agreed to. He spent about 5 mintues and reading the engine codes and then recommended cleaning the throttle body and replacing the MAF for for $250. I asked how he knew that was the problem, and he said it was one of a many possible problems with the car. I sensed their philosophy is to just replacing things until something works which is not a very cost effective method. I decided not to proceed with the repairs becasue I didn't trust this mechanic. Worked on the car myself and discovered it was actually a clogged catalytic converter; good thing I ignored their advice.I asked if he could waive or reduce the $60 diagnotic charge since he simply spent 5 min reading computer codes (which I already had done myself) and didn't actually give a diagnostic. He refused, but did not have good explanation as to why. I paid and left, but will never return.

Unfortunately the owners have changed. I don't tend to write reviews. I've lived in this neighborhood for about 18 years and the new owner is not someone I would recommend, he is a bit rude and I will no longer be taking my car there or recommending him. I use to go to Shant and he was amazing and was an asset to the neighborhood, sad to see him of sold the business.

I took my car to So Cal Motors for an oil change and was so pleasantly surprised by my experience! Yervand was extremely knowledgeable and helpful without being pushy or trying to oversell me on other services. I'll definitely be going back if/when my car needs any future services!

I took my car in recently and was very satisfied with the work they did. I was given a much higher quote at a different mechanic shop just down the street, I had seen and heard many good things about this shop but had never actually taken a car until recently and I was very pleased. They were very responsible and professional unlike other mechanics they weren't trying to scam me into over paying, instead they were very kind and helpful. They listened to all my concerns and took care of everything I had mentioned and more! Safe to say I've found a new trusted mechanic shop, I'm very picky with where I take my cars but I'm pleased to know my cars will be in good hands from here on out! Thank you So Cal Motors a special thank you to Micheal and Shant for fixing my car!

Came in for the first time for an oil change and Shant and Michael were extremely welcoming and went above and beyond my expectations. Usually when I have any car work done, I have to be wary about up-selling, but that didn't happen here at all, and I have no doubt that they always had my best interest in mind. I was also seen 10 minutes before my appointment and out in under 30. Thank you, Shant and Michael! I'm looking forward to my next oil change with you. :)

I have been to so many shops and never left confident in the work that was going to done until I came here. Mike made everything super simple and easy and I can tell my car was in good hands. My car will not be going to any other shops I highly recommend SoCal Motor.
