Lots of snakes. My lab managed to find one by the water access point near the middle of the campground and another about a quarter of the way up the trail to the bridge. It isn't a surprise considering being out in the country. Trash bins were full. The forest service website states that the water is potable but it went from clear to this cloudy red minutes after filling the bucket. Edit: It's a great location. I would rate higher but the water from the spring source was a big downer.

Very difficult to get to on rocky dirt forest service roads (took about an hour once off the main road in my ford focus, larger car/truck recommended). The fact that it's so far off the main road makes for excellent & secluded camping though. The river is right there and there's a hiking trail that starts at the campsite. The water at this campsite is undrinkable, tastes like straight iron pipe, so bring your own or bring a filter for the river.

Although the scenery is very nice it's not worth the drive out there for the poor fishing and tons of snakes

Me and my brother went camping and he was bit by a rattlesnake on the ankle. Also ran into a bear on the trail. Wouldn't recommend going!

We started at Fraser Flat and went to take an ORV ride in our 2 seater. We followed a pretty decent road down into the canyon and passed by an old power house. Then we came to a camp ground we didn't even know was down there. Beautiful ðŸ˜

I would say that David S from Stockton (3/2014) review is very accurate. Fabulous place for fishing and camping. It's a Small remote campground - driving down/up a dirt, unimproved forest route road with lots of switchbacks creates limits to cars and RV's (don't even try unless you want to scratch/dent or get stuck). Highly advise no children and keep dogs on leash at all times. The river is swift and deep all year. If you fall in, you're a gonner - there is no swimming/floating. This is just a good hiking and fishing stream, but is not a family (kids) fun type campground because of the water hazards.

My friends and I come here once a year as an annual "guys away from the family trip." We love this place. Very peaceful. We love to fish here. It has a good trail for hiking as well. The outhouses are clean. Caution though, the road to the campsite can be a little tricky being " off road" type. Not bad for trucks, but I drove a subaru impreza and I had to be cautious.
