I was Asian market hopping and I stumbled across the Pig Bun at Maria Grocery. A local restaurant offered the exact item at high cost. If you don't want to pay the restaurant prices, then you can stop by here. I didn't personally find anything to buy here so service was irrelevant but the ambiance was quiet. It was a plus to have free parking. Overall, I don't prefer this place but if you're in search of the bun, you'll find it here.

In the food court we got two boxes of Chinese food to go. We got home a few minutes later and the food tasted like it has expired and none of use could eat it. We called the store about it and because we paid cash and did not get a receipt, they could not help us. It tasted like it has sat there for days.

They won't bag your groceries when you bring your own bag! Then when you can't get out of their way fast enough, you have deal with the cashier's attitude.

This isn't the worst marina location I've been to, but San Mateo's is even worse. In the produce aisle, we don't see Chinese leeks like they sell at other marina foods. The leeks are OK, they have a very long stem or stock, a big route, but short-lived, signaling the unfreshness. Not a huge variety of stuff there but yes, they sell spring onions. I really wish that marina food sold those big green onions. They have a 99 Ranch market. Because those big green onions are really big and really long! However, a good alternative is the Chinese leeks which is supposedly similar except more of a leek flavor and also leek leaves. The customer service here is very nice. Overall, it's any old average grocery store. In terms of ambience, it's not super quiet, but also not super packed. Unfortunately, the hot deli doesn't sell orange chicken so that's very depressing. In Cupertino they used to sell orange chicken but they got rid of it? I was very disappointed not to see orange chicken and I feel like Marina Food should really start making orange chicken.

Employees are nice. Lots of varieties of fresh vegetables that you can't find in American supermarkets. But watch out the "expiration date". We bought 6-pack of Vitasoy drink in a rush and didn't check the date After we got home, I was shocked that they expired in 2022. They need to send staff out to check on products on regular basis.

This location is ok. Needs a face lift. Offerings were ok. Can't compare to 99 ,Ranch or HMart.

This place is a bit of a hybrid between a big box store and a regular grocery store, with no membership card involved. To save more money, you are often presented with a large buy.

I've been a customer for a long time and I don't mind the lack of stocked items sometimes, or the old carts that I have to fight with to get it unstuck from the other carts. Since the pandemic, this place is not as busy as it used to be. I still want to support my local business. However, today I'm just very disappointed with the customer service at the counter. I know that some time before we were putting groceries in the bags ourselves due to safety. Now, I had to bag 30+ items on my own. I don't mind if it was like 5 items or something, but the cashier stood there doing nothing while I ended up bagging the items myself. I thought this must be a new policy, but I saw 3 other cashier bagging items for customers. The kicker is that the cashier ended up just walking away as I started to finish up my first bag. They should train their employees to treat all customers the same. Just beware that you might have to start doing all the work next time you shop.
