My husband and I had an appointment on April 4th at 7 pm to have our taxes prepared at your location in the Walmart on Helen Power Dr in Vacaville. We arrived on time to a pop up locationlocated right near the self service check out. The only privacy we had was from paper thin curtains surrounding the desk.The tax preparer did not greet us or introduce herself to us. I thought this was very unprofessional and actually thought she was just the person to checkus in. After a few minutes I asked for her name and introduced ourselves to her.We almost left at that point but decided to stay in the interest of time. We didn’t necessarily doubt the preparers expertise however there were questions she asked us that were not specific or clear and required us to repeatedly ask for clarification. All in all this was not a good experience. The location inside the store was less than desirable and being able to hear so many personal conversations on the other side of the curtains made us very uncomfortable.We expected more from a reputable company such as Jackson Hewitt.Thank you…

No one there at scheduled appointment time. Tried calling customer service to find another location and was on hold for 25 minutes before just giving up.

Horrible I e filed my taxes March 3rd with a tax preparer (who asked me to give a good review when he finished) and three months go by still haven't received anything I finally called the tax franchise board for them to tell me they haven't received anything I go in with an 11:00 appointment and there is nobody there then I find out my taxes were filed by paper and never sent so another day goes by I don't receive any phone call so I come back another day with another preparer and file my taxes again. Got home and was pissed I called him back and asked if I should have got a discount or something reduced $198 is a lot to pay on my little $600 return and no effort was put in to file or call or anything he said he will call me back and never called me back very upset!

They lied to me, they told me they were a corporate store and not the franchise.They told me that they would call me when my check was ready to be picked up. The lady was not seen in the store, she didn't call me. Their bank canceled the check. The check was based on my federal return and fees that Hewitt Jackson withdrew. Now I have to wait up to 14 days to get my check. I called the corporate office and they told me that if a Hewitt Jackson is in a Walmart store in is most likely a franchise. The lady at Walmart looked at me in my face and told me that they were a corporate store.So, buyer beware!

Describing my 2018 encounter with Jackson Hewitt in Vacaville include the following: non-existent customer service, incompetent tax preparer and outrageous fees! I went online and made an appointment for January 24, 2018 at the Dixon Super-Walmart. This was electronically confirmed. I tried repeatedly to phone them to ask some questions, but both of the 2 numbers given had recordings that no one could come to the phone. I showed up for the appointment and no one was there. The clerk in the electronics department said that he hadn't seen anyone from Jackson Hewitt there at all so far this year. I finally was able to reach the Jackson Hewitt corporate office. They confirmed that they were aware that the Dixon branch had not opened. I explained that their website had the capabilities of confirming appointments, even though no one would be there when customers arrived. The only consolation they offered me was an appointment in the Vacaville Walmart. I then spoke with the Vacaville tax preparer and made an appointment. I also told her that I had an electronically confirmed appointment in Dixon, , but no from Jackson Hewitt showed up. Her response was "Oh, I was supposed to take care of that." I said "So I drove 30 miles for no reason and that could have been prevented?" I received no response. My appointment in Vacaville took 2 1/2 hours. (Historically, these appointments have never taken more than 30 to 45 minutes.) The tax preparer tried for more than 20 minutes to pull up the previous year's tax documents (with Jackson Hewitt) and was not successful. I repeatedly received incomplete and vague answers to my questions. Finally, she announced the amount of my returns, but couldn't articulate why my Federal was $1,800 less and my State was $900 less than last year. I had to insist that she walk me through each step of the process, all the while dealing with vague and incomplete answers. To add insult to injury, I was shocked when she said the tax preparation fee was going to be $395! I informed her I paid only $220 last year. Her response was again vague: "They have some formula they plug in. It has something to do with deductions." I said: "Jackson Hewitt does an excellent job of discouraging customers from returning for their services." Again, there was no response from the tax preparer. It took 45 minutes for her to be able to print my tax papers. At first she handed me the papers from 2016 (which she initially said she couldn't find). After several more minutes I received the 2017 papers. After researching the tax process, I've decided it would be to my advantage to pay someone else to check the work of Jackson Hewitt. Furthermore, I'm concerned whether they filed my returns correctly and if I will receive my returns in a timely fashion. I'm not holding my breath. Do yourself a favor and stay away from these people. It could cost you a lot of time, energy and money.
