I went to drop $$ items off and was told they only except teenaged items. I understand if this is the business model, but it does not state this on their website. Also, the attendants could have a little bit more professionalism when speaking to customers. I recommend customer service training for the staff.

Took in items to sell and only took like 4 things from what I brought in, some of my items were brand new with tag and they still passed. Took in a brand new purse and they only wanted to give me $1 for it. I messaged Plato’s on Instagram to ask if there accepting a specific brand for purses and they said yes, I take it in to sell and they still pass on it brand new without the tags. Employees need to work on there customer service because it was terrible. If you plan on selling here you’d have better luck somewhere else with better pay. And if you plan on buying here don’t because it’s so overpriced.

Costumer service sucks. The employees are rude. They don't care about the customers all they care about is gossip. Man what a disappointment place to shop.

Just had my first experience selling at this place and I'm a bit confused. I've shopped there a handful of times and didn't really find much that I would or I don't think many people would wear out. I brought a couple bags of pretty trendy clothing which included some coats, shirts, pants, and a basically brand new pair of vans that were worn once. I did the process of setting up the sale and waited however long it was to get a message saying my offer was ready. Mind you, before I initially left after dropping off the clothes I took a look around the store to scope out what type of items they had on the floor to see what I think they'd take. Per usual they had about the whackest items I've ever seen. To give them credit, their women's section is usually pretty good, but MAN do they need work on the men's section. Shoes WHACK, 80% of shirts WHACK, you'll find cool pants rarely, BUSTED hats, BUSTED shoes. I come back in about 45 minutes feeling like they skimmed through it pretty quickly. After arriving, I found that they basically took nothing and was extremely surprised they didn't take the items that still had tags. I was even more flabbergasted they didn't take the essentially brand new pair of cream vans that look like they came right out the box LMAO they claim to take items that they think are trendy to younger adults, but they couldn't feel more out of touch with what people could be drawn to. Ain't nobody drawn to dry fit t shirts with stains AND/OR bacon neck t shirts. To add to the comedy I looked way what type of shoes they had on the rack and I saw a pair of busted, walked in everyday to school, not even clean, basic black sk8 his that had no business being sold LOL You'll have better luck selling the stuff yourself or taking it to the closest buffalo exchange. HELL you'll have more luck giving it to savers for free because honestly I find more luck there when I shop. So whatever process they go through to take items or whoever decides to take items needs to be brought back to square one because this is very unusual feeling. I don't care that they didn't take items, I'm more mad at myself that I wasted my time even trying to sell to this place. Godspeed to anyone who takes any clothing that is worth anything to this place. They'll probably take your dirty socks before a decent pair of shoes. LMAO

This place is awesome, the staff were great and gave lots of good info on how they got new products and when to check for new stuff, the selection was also really good and I got lots of clothes that I've been loving to wear, even when buying a bunch of clothes the prices were still good. Would definetly come back in the future to explore new finds

Everything was super over priced. I found stained things from shein for $25. Can barely walk through the aisles. The whole store had this weird, off putting smell. Almost like a dirty rest stop smell. And the staff never even acknowledged my existence or offered help

I have visited this store a few times since they opened as I worked next door for 3years. Customer service is still horrible. I understand how they work plateo closet isn't new to me. They are a franchise. I was baited and switched. I emailed corporate but will go into detail how I'm told one price then another price after receipt is printed. Was told oh I'm sorry. I was on the phone with someone who heard her. Smh I was so mad I left grabbed the money sat in my car and emailed corporate.

Decent place to shop. Not good for selling. Customer service is trash with grumpy attitudes, which is enough to make me deny any cute items that there could be. As a shopper it be cheap but somethings are questionable when it reaches over $15 (it's used..and the items they accept aren't that great) I gave this place 2 shots to try and sell, with items that are pretty similar to the better items they have (H&M, high waisted jeans, simple crop tops, Old Navy) and they couldn't accept it. It's a bit strange as to why. I feel like it can really depend on the workers grumpiness or how they view you, if I'm being honest. I don't feel a lot of integrity in the process. I just ended up dumping the bag outside for them to deal with. I didn't really need my items anyways.

Unless it's a fast food establishment, I usually cringe when I visit a business with one or two stars on Yelp. And considering this is a business that specializes in second hand apparel, I had to give it some thought if this place was any good. Keep in mind that I love thrifting; especially when you can find bargains on so many good finds. This takes me to the Vacaville "Plato's Closet" that has been opened since mid-2021.For those of you that don't know, Plato's Closet is a franchise owned by Winmark Corporation which also owns "Once Upon A Child" and "Play It Again Sports". Usually, their stores are spread out and only in very select areas across the country. This was my 2nd time visiting a Plato's Closet as there is one only 20 minutes from me in Roseville, CA. This location is in a busy outdoor shopping center directly at Allison Dr. and Nut Tree Pkwy.During my visit which was the afternoon of Saturday 6/17/2023 at around 1:30pm, I scored some really amazing finds. First and foremost, they were offering 70% off on clearance items. I found an awesome Aeropostale t-shirt for under $1, Kirkland brand swim trunks for under $2 (both of which were clearance items), and Nike Air Max shoes for an unbelievable $25. Furthermore, this place has a ton of name brand apparel at discounts that are much lower than a Goodwill and Eco Thrift. One thing I did want to point out is that customer service wasn't the best. However in this situation it was okay with me as the three female employees looked young (18-20 years old) Usually I enjoy browsing by myself without being asked if I need help. When I did want to use the fitting room, the young woman didn't mind assisting me in letting me in. All in all, the Vacaville "Plato's Closet" was a decent thrift store with surprisingly unbeatable prices. And it is tucked in between Ross and Burlington so if you're on a mission for some new and perhaps, second hand clothes like you'll find here, you just may score some deal. With that said and done, I am giving them an above average four star rating.

This business has really gone downhill in the past few months. The staff is always unwelcoming & unhelpful. You would think the manager would train them in customer service, but no they’re too busy talking to each other to provide help for any customers, and when you do ask for help they make you seem like you’re an inconvenience. The clothes are ridiculously overpriced and hideous. I used to be a regular shopper but now I leave empty handed every time. Do not waste your time here. Savers has a way better selection and staff who can actually do their jobs. Plato’s Closet Roseville has amazing deals and clothes as well.

Took my daughter since she's starting to fit in size small and we are trying to be more aware of our environmental impact. We were thrilled with we found! Lots of cute shirts that look new, the price was great (no more than $7 for name brand clothes) and everything was organized. The staff was so friendly. I was surprised to read the low reviews. Hopefully our experience is Plato's new norm and as we continue to go, have similar positive experiences.

It's a cool spot in my opinion. I mean, it is what it is when it comes to selling your items to them. You can't be expecting a huge amount of money. That's why I always set my expectations low. That way I'm either surprised or not. The staff there are cool as well. I haven't had any bad experiences whenever I did go to be honest. I even found a couple of cool pieces here and there! Anyways, My overall experience is relatively positive. I guess those who rated negatively....made the visit terrible on their own dime. That's not my problem though. I'm able to clean out my wardrobe, make a few bucks and donate whatever they don't take!

I used to go to a Plato's in San Jose as it was a staple for me in college to shop for some cheap trendy clothes, but this location in VV has gone downhill and their clothes have become more expensive. Their jeans and pants can range from $15-25, which is kind of expensive for second hand clothes. I've even seen some Shein and Fashion Nova pieces that were $15+! You're better off buying new clothes from Ross in terms of the value sometimes, but they might have some hidden items that are worth. One thing I'll stress on is the customer service here is utter s**** The staff needs to have a better system for the fitting rooms and should be trained for better customer service. One of the staff members opened on the door on me while I was changing and she didn't even apologize. She did knock, but I couldn't tell if she was knocking on the fitting room next to me. Later on I overheard them laughing and gossiping about what happened- suuuper unprofessional! This Plato's closet hires typical gossipy high school girls, and from previous reviews there's complaints about them being super rude and not displaying any customer service whatsoever. Honestly I should have taken my business elsewhere but my boyfriend really wanted to purchase some clothes. Also, whenever I come here I've always noticed that when I walk in here I'm never welcomed by the staff, but they always welcome other customers who walk in. Not sure if it's a coincidence, if it's me, or...? The only thing I like is how they organize everything by color.
