I have been trying for 10 days to get a prescription refilled. Pharmacy keeps telling me they need a pre-approval from Dr. That my primary insurance to reject paying for prescription so my secondary insurance to approve it. . Doctors office has sent pre authorization already and shows primary already denied it. I called again today and told the lady on the phone Doctor said it’s already been sent. And, she was quite rude, cutting me off and saying no it’s not. I called doctors office again to verify info pharmacy gave me. While on hold the MA called the pharmacy. When she returned to me she said the lady on the phone was quite snippy. Kept interrupting her and said the insurance info was different and they only have the secondary insurance on file. But?? Somehow just a couple of days ago they charged my primary insurance for another med? I’ve been using Safeway pharmacy for some time.. so it seems odd to me of how they don’t have both.. and the pharmacy was the one who kept saying primary needs to deny to send to other insurance if they only had one. MA didn’t get any where with pharmacy and the only solution we could come up with was to cancel the request and send it to another pharmacy that would be more helpful.
This hasn’t been a pleasant experience, I have had this medication filled and approved at this location for over 6 months. Dosage was changed. My hopes would be that the pharmacy would work with me and the doctors office to resolve the issue of getting this filled vs not listening, interrupting and just saying no doctors office is wrong when they have proof and then saying insurance isn’t on file when they’ve just used both.
I hope this can be used as a learning experience. This was on Feb 17, 2025

Have always experienced great customer service at this Safeway VV Pharmacy! Spent a month of headache dealing with CVS not being able to figure out how to fill Rx for twin son (same DOB different name). Within a day of switching Rx to Safeway Pharmacy they had an override code for our insurance & prescription filled with no issues ever again.

This pharmacy is dishonest. I went last week to pick up my medication. The Asian male pharmacist (wearing white coat) told me my medication was out of stock and that it would be ordered and would be in by Monday. I followed up today via phone call, and the female pharmacist told me that my medication was never ordered and that that it requires further approval from my doctor based on some company policy that can’t be found online or anywhere. I believe this policy is likely made up. It’s Very unfortunate that pharmacists end up being an obstacle to healthcare, and even worse that a company like Safeway employs these types. It’s a shame, you’d expect professionals to take more pride in their work. Or at the very least higher levels of integrity.

The Asian female pharmacist is very rude. The middle aged causation assistant is also very rude. I've asked them directly 3 times this week for a refill with no response in the last 5 days. Now when you ring their number it automatically hangs up! Unbelievable! I'm changing pharmacies.

Absolutely great, awesome service very understanding. I had a problem getting my medicine and they worked it out. I really appreciate the staff there at Safeway Pharmacy in Vacaville.

I’ve been using this Safeway Pharmacy for about a year. So far I’ve had very good service. The team is kind and helpful. It’s better than the CVS Pharmacy in regards to customer service.

. No one there to help me this morning when I try using the restroom. Took 20 mins.No soap in the restroom. Took another 15 mins before I was able to use the other restroom and finally wash my hands..food store with locks on restroom door.

The middle aged white woman is very unpleasant. I thought maybe it was just me, but its been a few times now, even heard an older couple behind me talking about how rude she was just the other day. Even if a medicine is "ready" its never READY. Its always "5-10 minutes" fine, but be clear: do I get back in line, do you call me up there, what? I just feel like she could communicate clearer and be a lot nicer. I'm not one to ask people to be overly sickeningly animated but she is one of the least welcoming individuals ive encountered at a business, ever.

DO NOT USE PHARMACY.They told me they could not fill my medication and I am just passing through so I had to go to Walgreens instead they helped me.Do not use this pharmacy. I was passing through for the holidays and needed my controlled substance filled and she blew on the phone and was like we are not filling it which could’ve potentially put me in a bad situation! Thank God I’m educated enough to call before hand and also to call other pharmacies and check.

today I took my client to go get their booster covid shot that was scheduled. he has an extremely compromised immune system and doesn't get out of vehicle, also he is a quadriplegic man. he got both his initial shots in a van and the pharmacy wouldn't come out and give him his shot. so needless to say he did not get his booster today. I was told to just bring him inside and they would clear out the waiting room for him. which really isn't an option for him with his condition.

Nightmare here! I'm a physician... came in to get my booster COVID vaccine because it was difficult to find a time at my hospital that worked. The tech was very rude and had no idea about the boosters. Turned it over to the pharmacist who seemed annoyed I was asking for a booster at all. I have my vaccines electronically on my phone but they "had to have" the paper copy. Told me I'd have to go back to my hospital, get a paper copy and reschedule. Definitely WON'T be doing it here that's for sure. Thought we were all supposed to be helping people protect themselves and their community, not hindering it. Very disheartening!!!!!

The new person in the pharmacy is a j**** He is rude to people, I will move my prescriptions to another pharmacy. He acts like the customer owes him something and he is condescending to people.
