The Hunter Hill Rest Area is a popular stop for weary travelers along the road. This well-maintained facility offers a safe and convenient place to rest, stretch, and rejuvenate. The bathrooms are generally clean and well-kept, with the exception of one stall in the men's room that lacks a door. During the day, the unisex bathrooms provide a more private and secure option until around 7 pm. The rest area boasts a stunning view of Vallejo and the nearby Six Flags amusement park, particularly breathtaking at night and during sunrise. Visitors can enjoy a peaceful stroll along the walkways or take their pets for a quick break. The friendly staff, often seen in vests, work tirelessly to keep the area clean and welcoming for all. While the rest area can get quite busy, with some reports of people living in their cars, it remains a safe and reliable spot for drivers in need of a quick nap, restroom break, or simply a moment of respite. Overall, the Hunter Hill Rest Area is a valuable resource for those traversing the region, offering a comfortable and scenic place to recharge before continuing their journey.
Pretty clean rest area!! Although there were homeless folks doing laundry right outside the restroom area. Not judging; just commenting on what we saw. Pretty scenic view of the bay.

10/10 experience. Pigeons in the bathrooms. Cats outside. Amazing.

During this winter months this rest area tend to be slippery and cold. With added wind, it is best to hold the handrail or stay close to it for safety. I wish, coffee or hot chocolate is available at the vending machine.
