It's too bad they don't do hair like they did once upon a time, and nails, maybe even facials. They use to invite you to let them actually match up your make up and show you how to...... not any longer. Women worked there that had specific skills in make up and facial products. It would be nice to see all that come back. Movie changed all that I guess.

I am literally BALDING after one hair appointment with Angela @ the Vallejo California location. I am devastated. I was gifted a hair appointment with Angela by a family member who was referred to her by a friend. I was booked online for a Wash, blow-dry, and flatiron. This woman put no heat protectant on my hair then proceeded to burn my hair completely. It is now falling out and breaking off from the slightest touch. My hair was beautiful, healthy, well maintained and thick. My stylist was out of town, I saw Angela once and she managed to destroy my self image. These images are my hair before and after Angela.

I was serviced by a stylist named Angela here at Ulta Beauty Vallejo in the salon. My hair was very healthy before I booked 1 session with this woman. In one session she managed to damage my hair so badly that my regular stylist took about 2 hours longer to do my hair just to try and fix what Angela had done to my hair. After hours of special treatment and products to repair my hair. My stylist (who has done my hair since I was 12 years old. I am 31) STILL wasn't able to fully rid my hair of the burnt smell Angela left behind after severely burning my natural hair. I am distraught. If you are thinking about booking at Ulta Beauty Salon in Vallejo CA. THINK AGAIN. BEWARE. I needed my hair done for an event because my stylist was out of town, and now I'm probably gonna go bald.

Twice Esperanza gave bad information. Not once did she offer an apology. She’s been rude, and looks at people like their stupid but she’s the one guilty of being “slow” lol

Not for the makeup newbie.
If you don't know what you want exactly there is very little help finding anything. If you can get someone to help you they steer you to the most expensive products with the reason that there are no testers available for the other products.
If you do decide to buy anything guard your receipt with your life or sign up for a membership because there are no returns unless they can track you, no matter how small the purchase.

I went into Ulta, Vallejo today in search of a remedy for an oily scalp. I didn’t get her name, but the lovely lady in the salon in the back of the store was very nice and helpful. She obtained several recommendations from a coworker over the radio for me and left me to make my own decisions given the options I now had. I took my selections to the cash register and asked the cashier, Teresa, for a second opinion on my selections. Not only does she herself deal with an oily scalp, but she’s an esthetician too, so she fine tuned my selections for what would be best, going to the back of the store store for me several times. She went above and beyond and explained the reasons why each product would be better than the other. Amazing service from everyone I dealt with…especially Teresa!

The store is a little messy. I have some friends that work here, so I see the condition of the at least once a week. Also, it looks like some of the employees (not my friends) dislike their jobs enough to not even try. Often, you'll hear non work related conversations to the point they ignore customers.

The only place I ever buy makeup and hair products is Ulta. They have almost everything that you need and you can try it and if it doesn't work out, you can return it love that. Staff is really nice and willing to work with you.
