“As an Armenian, I shop at a lot of Armenian markets and most of them carry the same products that meet our needs. I normally wouldn’t leave a review for a supermarket, but this one truly stands out.
An apple is an apple! the difference here is the service. From the guys at the deli and butcher to the staff at the checkout, everyone is genuinely helpful and respectful. You can feel that customer service actually matters to them, and that makes a big difference.”
“I personally love this TJs but selection is admittedly a bit more limted than other stores. Maybe with the planned move into the old Rite Aid building they will expand?? Still love shopping there bc everyone is so nice and it’s super efficient to get in and out.”

“Today I was in this store for the first time, we bought beef and a box of dates, the meat was very tasty, but unfortunately the whole box of dates for 25 dollars turned out to be spoiled, they smelled expired (I wanted to write them a Ramadan post, but I was very upset (please be careful with expiration dates and proper storage, what should I do now with a huge box of expired dates?
I also want to note that the staff there is wonderful, very friendly and attentive, they fulfilled all my requests, I don’t want you to make adjustments, I’m just very upset about the dates, forgive me for writing this (”
“Wish this was closer to me. This is your main Chinese grocery in SFV. Wide variety of Asian produce (jackfruit, rambutan, lychee), meat and fish, snacks, tea, the list goes on. Lucky it’s here, and I’ll definitely continue coming out from time to time.”
“Been a long time customer. It’s my favorite grocery store the selection is great and they get really fun unique items and produce year round. The filmed an episode of the tv show lark and rec here. In the episode where Chris(rob lowe) takes Ron swanson(nick offerman) to a health food store and Ron hates it. Buts I love it! You will too.”

The shelves are well organized and of a reasonable size, the staff are friendly, and the meat is particularly well-diversified.
The fish here is not the best, but it is one of the best among the Korean town markets. I recommend the ones at room temperature rather than the ones displayed in the refrigerator.
There is also a Gaju Gimbap, bakery, fried chicken restaurant, and Coffee Bean in the market, and it is good because there is indoor parking.”

I have been going to EL MAMBI, they have salted pig tail, and butter beans and a lot of Goya's products, no-gas green bananas and other central Americans food. I wish they had salted mackerel. I am going to check to see if they have salted beef. They do have baccalo but not very good quality. I love their sweet potatoes, Ñame root . Thank the Lord that they are still operating in Glendale since this is the last Central American/ Caribbean market left in Glendale CA. ****Someone mentioned below that you should check your receipt before leaving and make certain that they do not overcharge you. I noticed they did that to me before seeing this warning and it was a lot about $15 overcharging me and now I truly believe that they did it on purpose, one of the female cashed me out and I noticed it was too high. She make me feel as if she did not clear the register from the last customer. But now I look back and realize by her response she knew what she did. *** Be careful when the females are cashing you out. It is just a shame to steal from your customers!!”
“I grew around this store and its one of the only ones left since I was a child....so many trips with my mom to this store to buy food to make dinner!...it's not the fanciest, but I promise u they have a lil bit of everything...their CarniceriaIs great..it's a family owned small business and they're still there for a reason...really friendly people....I pretty much go every 2 days at least....lol”

“Numero Uno is a fantastic local grocery store with two locations on San Pedro Ave located about a mile apart. I’ve been shopping Numero Uno for over a year when I’m in historic south central LA. Stores are always clean. Produce and dairy products fresh. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Location of this post can be a little confusing. What I originally thought was the front on San Pedro and looked closed was the back of the store. Entrance and parking are behind the store.”

I used to go to 99 Ranch and as soon as you walk in that place it has a stench of fish. It’s no surprise that the fish I bought there wasn’t good and smelled. Very happy I found this place.”
“I'm giving Seafood City a solid four stars. Let me start by saying—the moment you walk in, you're hit with a strong seafood smell. It's not the most pleasant at first, almost like something's gone bad, but after a few minutes, you realize it's just that raw, natural seafood scent you’d expect from a place selling live crab and fresh catch daily.
The store itself is extremely well stocked, especially if you're looking for Asian groceries or specialty items you won’t find at your regular supermarket. The seafood section is impressive—they offer a wide variety of fresh options, including live crab and shellfish. However, the meat section didn’t look too great. The quality seemed a little off, but to be fair, I wasn’t expecting premium cuts here.
What knocks it down to four stars for me is the customer service—or lack of it. Employees barely acknowledge you, and when they do speak, it’s so fast and mumbled that it’s hard to understand what they’re saying. It feels very rushed and impersonal.
If you're coming strictly for the selection, this place delivers. But don’t expect warm greetings or help from the staff. Still, worth stopping by if you're looking to cook up something fresh and flavorful at home”

She's very welcoming. All the stuff I needed was available, plus the price was fair. You are waiting for me to visit your store again.”
“This a typical Aldi store with good variety in a small space. I used a quarter to get my cart. I found my desired spaghetti sauces and non-wheat pasta, bought frozen veggies & refritos and was checked out by the usual amazingly fast cashier. I loaded up my insulated bag and was out of the store, getting my quarter back when I returned the cart. Took 35 minutes. In the rain.”

It’s not their fault everyone wants to shop there. They have many things and usually fresh that I can’t find in other supermarkets.”

“Jon's is one our go-to supermarket if my wife or I need something quickly, many times that's after work (after 5 pm). It's a relatively clean market, can feel cramped at times especially at those hours on a weekday and parking while not the worst parking lot I've seen for a supermarket, at those busy hours you may circle around once or twice to find a spot.
I can't speak to their meat or seafood department but their deli meat selection is good especially if you're after more Russian meats you wouldn't find at your local Ralph's or Von's. Bakery also has some unique breads not found elsewhere.
Certain things, dairy items come to mind the most, for some reason cost more than the Gelson's just down the road, could never figure that out. Otherwise the prices are reasonable, not Vallarta but not Whole Foods either.”
