The lie about storage cost. $120 a month quote leads to $400+ a month bill. When you ask for delivery they say they cant because they are too busy and end up keeping your stuff until the next month charge begins. Then they charge a delivery fee but they don't deliver they say the driver could not deliver the stuff and charge you the fee anyways. Finally they made me come and pick up all my stuff and load it onto a truck to get shipped to my new house.Wasted thousands of dollars with the horrible company never using them again what a headache. The whole company is incompetent and looking for a reason to do nothing. They said they could not deliver because there was no parking but my 3 cars were blocking 3 spaces for them all they had to do was say we are here and I move my cars. Finally they refused to deliver and made me come pick up my stuff after I paid them thousands in fees

This is a company that participates in fraudulent behavior, among other things they are in the practice of charging when they do not do the work. Run do not walk from this company. They were a nightmare from start to finish. They will leave you on hold for hours and cancel pickups and drop offs with no explanation. They have cost us $1000 in fees for not coming in time with no apologies. We had to extend our lease on our home and deal with threats from neighbors as a result of the company leaving the pod in the wrong location. It is worth paying the small amount extra to use any other option.

They never showed up to pick up our pod. Our escrow is closing tomorrow and they never bothered to call or show today. Even after we called to confirm it the night before. You can only reach them at 1800PACKRAT which is a call center. The call center told us we were skipped them they told us the truck broke down. You never can speak to the local office to find out what’s going on. So I have a pod, escrow closing tomorrow, a hotel reservation that I’m not going to be able to make (it was prepaid) and this company doesn’t have the courtesy to even call you. Don’t be fooled by the reasonable prices. I’d gladly pay a couple thousand more for peace of mind and professional service. This company is awful.

Complete garbage! Never on time and made serveral excuses , overcharged for mileage for a local 1hr move. Nearly 2600.00 for a 45mile drive. The local facility would not make the drive because it was considered "long distance" so they had to call the outside service facility to backhaul and pick up the container because that's where the service area was LMAO! What a freaking Joke! Do not use this garbage business!

I called and spoke to Dio, the efficient and friendly staff member. He quickly assessed my needs and set me up with the right sized container. I was given all the pertinent info regarding delivery dates, etc. He offered me a discount from their already fairly priced rates. I felt confident that they would deliver my possessions with no mishaps, and would take good care of my belongings. I would highly recommend this business to anyone who needs it.

Buyer beware, this is a SCAM. They did not show up on our move day leaving us scrambling to rent a u haul, they are double charging us for storage that we requested multiple times to remove from our account, and any billing questions they insist are directed at their sister company, the sister company insists the opposite so we are infinitely bounced between them while still being DOUBLE CHARGED.

Where to begin? Every experience with this company was worse than the last. When the pod was delivered in South Carolina, it was beat up and full of holes. When I complained, I was told that the long-distance people got the beat up ones and the local people got the nice ones. After I continued to complain, they delivered a nice one. Then there was the delivery in Pennsylvania. The first guy who brought it either had a broken truck or he didn't know how to operate the truck he had. He could not get it loaded off the truck and multiple times almost dumped it in the driveway. Then the guy who came to pick up the pod was just as bad. He did not give the one hour call that he was supposed to give. He called when he was at my house. What if I had gone shopping or for some other reason was not here? I had not finished unloading. I had not moved my car. I was in such a rush that I forgot and left my AirTag in the pod. He could not figure out how to back up an empty truck into my driveway. He tried multiple times, and it just got worse and worse until he pissed off my neighbors and everybody on the street. When I realized my AirTag was still in the pod and it was still in Leetsdale, Pennsylvania, I called 1 800 Pack Rat. She told me to go to Leetsdale and get my AirTag. I drove almost 2 hours there and encountered the most disorganized, chaotic, unprofessional place I have ever been. Lots of people standing around and nobody knowing what was going on. The parking lot was full of angry drivers who were all trying to locate pods by just wandering around the property and looking for numbers. When I asked about my pod, we did the same thing. We wandered all over the lot and the building, looking at the number on every single pod. How can they not know where anything is? Why were semi drivers wandering around looking for pods themselves? Everyone there was angry. Then I found out that my pod has been rented with my AirTag still in it, it was a 2 Hour drive for nothing and then a 2 Hour drive home. If you are moving in western Pennsylvania, do not use this company because your pod and your possessions will end up at that horrible disorganized place. It's a miracle if anybody gets the right pod out of there. And why is my AirTag still hanging in a pod with someone else's stuff?

I'd like to comment on a 1800PackRat job that I observed at my neighbor's house. My neighbor English Knowles had 1800packrats move her furniture from California to Virginia. When the container arrived, the lift broke when they were unloading it, leaving it hanging in midair for 3 days. I witnessed this. Please see picture that I took. When they finally sent a mechanic and got the container on the ground (NOT GENTLY), several pieces of furniture were damaged.1. The company will not honor the 50K insurance policy that they sold my neighbor.2. They are not able to produce the insurance policy, even though she was billed for it.3. No one is available to discuss.I am moving soon and will be using PODS. You should too. This company is not reputable and uses fraudulent business practices.

I hired 1800PACKRAT to move the contents of my home from California to Virginia. I purchased their supplemental insurance, which insured the load for $50,000. When they arrived in Virginia, their hydraulic lift broke, and my container hung in mid air for 3 days, at an incline. Several pieces of furniture were damaged. (Never mind the moving team that I had to pay anyway for the days I had reserved them and they couldn't work.) I filed a claim for the damaged furniture (3K). They denied my claim. They also cannot produce the insurance policy I bought, after multiple requests. This company is dishonest and they will sell you fraudulent insurance. Do not use them.

They delivered on time as expected. But what makes me give a 5 star review is their policy of allowing a 1 week extension since my daughter and boyfriend's settlement was delayed for over 2 weeks. That is great customer service!

A container was parked in front of my house so I went to ask whom it was for. The driver pointed down the street. I asked why he didn't put it in front of the house it was for. He said bc he put it here. He asked if I knew it was a public street and he could park wherever he wanted. He was quite rude and carried on about how he could do whatever he wanted. After about 5 minutes, he said he was moving it. When I asked why he didn't say so in the first place, he said that I never gave him a chance, even though I asked several times why he parked the container in front of my house and not the house that was using it. I tried to contact customer service but could not get through. He must have known this bc he was not concerned at all when I told him I would be calling the company. I am not surprised to see so many negative reviews.
