I've supported this business since it opened over 4 years ago, and am really disappointed to report such a negative experience with a newer hairstylist/colorist named Harrel Guetta that I took a chance on when he had no clients and had recently moved here. The owner said I should try him about 6 months ago and I was open since he shared he worked well with thick hair. He began dying my base color hair every 4-6 weeks. I started noticing that my hair color was slowly turning red in between base coloring every 4 weeks and started asking him about it but he either denied it was happening (unless I sent him pictures) or ignored my complaints and took offense to them personally. Unlike a normal professional hairstylist, who would work to correct, he became incredibly defensive. I know he left a salon prior in West Hollywood and spoke negative about it, which was a red flag. As his clientele grew, his arrogance grew with me. I texted him a few pictures of my hair color to ask what he thought was going on and joked that luckily "red is in", and he said he would take a look at it at our next appointment (I was going in every 4 weeks for root coverage and a haircut every 6-8 weeks, giving him consistent business). Today, the owner of the salon, Ashley, out of the blue, informed me that he no longer is taking me on as a client, via text. I asked her why she was informing me and not him, and she could not answer. I tried to call her and she didn't pick up my call. He could have called me himself but no hairstylist in their right mind would drop a client for bad work they did, it's bizarre. He stated multiple times how I have the top 1% thickest hair and how beautiful it is, compared to 99% of women with little hair, but it is a lot of extra work. Also, any chance he could get to slam others in the salon, he would. A young learning colorist named Cristal was doing my root coloring prior, and when he took over, he immediately told me "you look pale" and that Cristal "did not know how to do color" with a look of disgust on his face. Ashley did try to set me back up with Cristal, but how can I go back to her after Harrel said I looked horribly pale because she didn't get my hair tone correct. For 4+ years all stylists I went to have used a Dyson to dry my hair and when I asked him to please use a Dyson he responded in a very angry Tony saying there is no difference between a Dyson and the regular dryer he was using. Lastly, he shared that all the colorists in the salon use "cheap" color because it eats into the amount of money they end up making and boasted about how expensive his color was and only uses the best (to his credit my scalp never burned again when he applied color on me). He repeatedly spoke about how successful he was abroad with a thriving salon and celebrity clientele, so I trusted his credibility/work. Lastly, he raised his prices on me within a few months, to "match" others at the salon, which is unprofessional. We talked about prices in advance and all of my former hairstylists have grandfathered set prices as a form of customer loyalty. I understand increases over years, but a few months is outrageous. There were several other unprofessional behaviors, if you'd like to know more please shoot me a message.

While the salon is lovely, the people are friendly, and Jessica my stylist was very sweet, my blow out was unfortunately the worst blow out I’ve ever gotten. I walked out with frizz all over my head. She was running late, 15 or 20 minutes late, so maybe she had to rush through it, but running that late is also a problem, and if that was the issue, she should’ve acknowledged it and at least put some product on my head to smooth it out; because we started so late, I didn’t have time to have her fix it. I won’t be returning.

I absolutely adore this salon! I was craving a bit of a color refresh for my brown hair, and boy, did they deliver! Not only did they give my hair the lift it needed, but they also lifted my spirits in a way I never imagined possible. Here are the things that make this salon so special to me: 1. Convenient Booking: Booking online is a breeze, and you can actually get an appointment without waiting for months. 2. Believe it or not, they have parking! In LA! They have their own dedicated parking lot which was a treat I did not expect, but I was so happy to have the convenience! 3. Ashley, the Owner: Ashley was my first point of contact, and she's an absolute gem. Super responsive and helpful in finding the perfect stylist. A true sweetheart! 4. Harrel, the Artist: Where do I even begin? Harrel is a master of his craft, with an impressive background and talent that shines through in his work. Spending time in his chair was a true joy--my whole appointment took quite a few hours because we did a full color and cut, and I enjoyed every minute of it - talking, laughing, and even singing with him. Time went by so fast! It was truly a spirit-lifting connection, and I think he's not only incredibly skilled but also one of the sweetest souls I've ever met. From color to cut, he exceeded all expectations. My hair has never looked better, and I can't thank him enough! Atmosphere: The salon's ambiance is a perfect blend of glamour and coziness. Bright, airy, and filled with lush house plants--it's like stepping into a little oasis. And the music was off the charts! It's been three weeks, and I'm still beaming with happiness over my hair. If you're even remotely considering booking an appointment, don't hesitate--just do it! Trust me, you'll thank yourself later.

Salon Venice is the best salon I have been to! I love getting my hair cut and colored by Sandra. She is a very talented stylist and colorist! She also has a nice personality and is fun to hang out with during hair styling.

I visited The Salon for the first time since my hairstylist, Sandra, relocated here. I love the vibes! Clean, minimalist chic with easy and accessible parking. What can I say about Sandra, she is an angel! I randomly found her when I moved to Playa Del Rey in 2020 and I have been going to her ever since. She is kind, sweet, and of course, talented. I love that she really listens to what her clients want. She also isn't pushy--she makes recommendations for styles/products but NEVER makes you feel like the choice isn't yours. Recently, I decided to add layers which I don't normally do. She knew exactly what to do to make my curls POP! I don't know why I never did it before, but I have my full trust in her doing layers moving forward. Sandra is going to do my up-do for my wedding celebration next year and I can't wait to see her bring my vision to life! Love you lots Sandra :-)

I recently followed my hairstylist to this salon that she's now working at... It's a beautiful place near Abbott Kinney with ample parking for a change... It's light and airy, modern with beautiful plants all over the place. Really bright atmosphere and a chill place to relax and feel pampered in. My hairstylist, Sandra Ramirez, always greets me with a big smile and hug! She's very nurturing and has sweet energy. I always feel completely at ease and relaxed around her. She is very loving and completely professional. Not only does she do a fantastic job, she always takes the time to really listen to what I want and never rushes my hair cut. Instead, she very methodically cuts away, giving you the style and haircut you asked for. She recently gave me a layered pixie with undercut, that turned out really well... I was a little intimidated, because I've never gone that short before, but afterwards, I felt really liberated! Thank you, Sandra!

My friend introduced me to Sarah whom she said she's amazing and will never go to another hairdresser. I can say that she's absolutely right. It's probably the best haircut I've gotten in as long as I can remember. She's extremely sweet amicable and of course talented. She adjusted the color of my hair. It looks amazing.

I've been going to Sandra for over a year now and I swear by her! She's done my hair perfectly since I started seeing her and has been so helpful now that I've gone blonde. I always leave the salon feeling so good about how my hair looks (styled and everything!) and I love the space itself! It's so nice and open and welcoming (with coffee and tea and water available upon request), just all around a great place with great people! Also lots of parking!

If I could give zero stars I would. I called in the morning requesting a hair appt for my 11 year old daughter. I was told David would be available later in the day and was scheduled with him at 1:30. At 11:50 I was told David would be in at 12:30 and I was asked to come in sooner, I let them know the soonest I could be there would be 1:00 or a little bit before. I rushed over and ended up arriving at 12:50. Upon arriving David was maybe mid way through cutting another persons hair. This felt like a slap in the face because I had waken my 3 month old daughter and rushed over with four children. I waited 10 minutes and then David came over and explained there was a mix up with the scheduling and asked if I could come back. Not only was he working on someone when I arrived but he was double booked for the original 1:30 appt time I was scheduled for. This was a huge inconvenience for me because I drove 30 minutes from my house for this appointment and brought my FOUR kids with me one of which is a 3month old infant. I stepped out to think and discuss with my daughter what she wanted to do. She really wanted to follow through with the hair cut and we had already come all this way. So I went back and explained to them what an inconvenience this was. Another stylist offered to take the other client that was double booked with me and then David let me know he could take my daughter in 20 minutes after he finished the client he was working on. I then called Ashley (the salon owner) who scheduled my appointment and explained to her what an inconvenience this was and asked for a discount on the service. She offered a conditioning treatment instead. I explained that I've already waited so long with my children I don't want to add unnecessary time to the appointment, nor does an 11year old girl who's never used heat on her hair need a conditioning treatment. She then offered me 15% off the service and I accepted. Keep in mind I was never quoted a price but it was clear the haircut was for a CHILD. So we sat in my car and came back in 20 minutes and of course David wasn't done with the client. We waited an additional 15 minutes and finally it was my daughters turn. I let him know she wanted a layered cut with curtain bangs we showed him a photo and then he started. It took an hour and a half and honestly I don't see any layers at all but my daughter was happy and smiling and we had already waited so long I just wanted to leave. When it was time to pay David apologized again and let me know Ashley had mentioned the 15% discount and the total for the hair cut would $70 (a lot in my opinion for a children's cut) but I paid it and even gave a generous tip. Here's the part that's very bothersome, if you go on their website to schedule an appointment you're able to see their prices. For a child's haircut it says $45. I wish I would have checked the scheduling part of their website before hand because I feel extremely taken advantage of.

Zigi is a true artist. Everyone here is great though and the Venice vibes are alive and well. Never gotten a bad cut! This is the spot to go for modern and trendy styling in Venice / Marina area 100% - worth the price and wait.

What a gem! So, we'd just moved here from London, I have super curly hair and don't trust ANYONE with it... and somehow we stumbled upon this great salon! I had hair color with Brenna, who also put some sort of magic softening potion in it, as it's feeling and looking amazing. Great natural color and a softness that feels amazing. I can't wait to go back and feel so relieved to have found a stylist and location that isn't a total rip off and is totally worth it. Thanks all!

I recently received "an emergency" treatment/blow dry from this place - Audrey specifically. I've been impressed. The response TEXT from the salon owner was practically immediate and when I arrived Audrey was right there to take care of my needs. I've been in several high end salons on Westside LA but sometimes I was treated as "you're in the best salon be humble " sort of thing, this is different. Thanks! I highly recommend this place.

Geo is amazing! Of the best haircuts I've ever had. Wouldn't trust anyone else to cut my hair, including leading up to my wedding in a few weeks. Would give 6 stars if I could!
