Venice Plants is fabulous place to pick up beautiful, healthy plants.Dustin and his family have owned and operated at this location for 30+ years for a reason. Their selection of tropical and other house plants is robust, and their prices quite reasonable.Staff have a no-nonsense approach that may initially come across as a bit gruff, but don't let that deter you. Once you engage with them, you'll find they are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. They also genuinely care about helping you find the right plant and how to keep the thing alive. Most recently, I was in search of an elephant ear plant, but when I needed a different size that they didn't have in stock, Dustin procured it for me a few days later. He also gave me a great deal on it and a beautiful teal ceramic pot. Dustin’s son even repotted the elephant ear in a larger plastic pot that better fit in said ceramic pot—adding more soil and not charging for the extra service. This place is a gem, and if you’ve read this far you could have already been there by now.

Best plant store in the area. Cactus and tree selection are really special. Purchased large plants to decorate my new loft in Santa Monica. Super happy. Jonathon is so nice and helpful. Recommend this place to anyone.

Walked by to look with my girlfriend when the attendant jumped out at us, threw up gang signs, and tried to chase us away.

Nice plants but I may not be back. The owner seems grumpy and inconvenienced by questions. He is unpleasant

Went there to buy a couple plants (cactus, snake plants) and asked some questions on type of plants to which a store attendant told me “we don’t know about plants just google the questions”. We didn’t end up buying any as it was a very poor customer experience and we never got our answers from there

Nice plants, nice vibe, nice owner. Arrive with a smile and you’ll be met with a family-run, truly local business. I loved getting the full history of this spot from Dustin. Prices were much lower than the plant spot up the road.

I had a negative experience buying a cactus from Venice plants. The prices aren't marked on the plants. I was told one price and after they wrapped up the cactus and loaded it into the car they said they made a mistake and that it cost a hundred more than what they originally told me. It was just very unprofessional and a bad experience. I would not recommend doing business there.

Venice Plants is an amazing nursery and gardening center that I recently discovered. The selection of plants and gardening supplies is truly impressive, and the staff is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. I was able to find everything I needed for my latest landscaping project, and the staff helped me choose the perfect plants and flowers to bring my vision to life. The prices were also very reasonable, and I appreciated the attention to detail and care that the staff put into each and every plant. Overall, I highly recommend Venice Plants to anyone who loves gardening or is looking to spruce up their outdoor space. It's a great place to find inspiration, learn about different plants and flowers, and get expert advice on gardening and plant care.

Unfortunately I have to echo some of the reviews below. I found the service to be breathtakingly rude. Though they have a reasonable selection - in a jammed and very confined space - there are no prices (or other information) listed so one must chase down the owners to get the price/information for any single plant, and they act like they are doing you a massive favor. If you enjoy being abused as part of the customer experience then this is the place for you. Otherwise there are plant shops nearby with friendly and knowledgeable service.

I bought a fiddle leaf fig from Venice Plants about 6 weeks ago. I’m new to plants and this was a big purchase for me. The water meter I bought was showing that the dirt was moist, so I wasn’t watering it, but when the leaves started turning brown and falling off, I assumed root rot. I came into Venice Plants for soil and they told me to bring it in and they’d help out with the root rot. I returned with the plant, they saw it was way too dry, and gave me a full plant care lesson and then the owner even swapped out my fig with a new one because he said it would take a while for my fig to look pretty again. Very thoughtful staff, they went above and beyond.

Selection of plants is okay, definitely not the best. The plants are very well kept and healthy. I've purchased a few plants from this place and they have done quite well.No air plants. Service is quite good.

My college friend Kou from UC Santa Barbara is a Venice Beach local. So he's like Sophie, let's adventure for a few hrs and I'll show ya more of Venice. So this was the plant spot he suggested. It's awesome! You walk in and it's like a carefully watered jungle. Plants dangling above yr head and below and everywhere in between. The aisles areNarrow, so the plants are kinda in the aisles and you divide them like the Red Sea. The prices aren't listed on any of them or the type of plant, but if you use the plant.net app it does the trick. It's what I do when I'm hiking and come across cool unidentified plants. The cacti were especially gorgeous and LA being in newly in a drought once again, being fresh-water conservative is a thing. The city already recycles our waste water for reusable but to be sustainable and thought, the drought resistant cacti is what I will be purchasing. In the future, we are moving shortly bc of the real estate hunt. So ya know don't want to move cacti and destroy them. Shall be back once we make this investment property purchase and buy some beauties to create a lil cacti garden. I adore this local hidden gem.

Venice can rise and fall and rise again, but there is one glorious paradise of a small business that will always stand in this little beach town, and that is Venice Plants. I have been visiting Dustin and his plant shop for 20 years now and each time I stop in I leave with something unique, something special, something quality and a feeling of true old-school Venice community. This place is a gem.A magical garden right on an unexpected little corner on Lincoln Blvd.Dustin's plants are QUALITY and are the best prices you will find anywhere this side of town. I have a Song of India that I purchased 20 years ago that is still thriving. If you live in Venice, if you live on the west side it is a crime to go anywhere else to buy a plant. Support this little local shop! I promise you will walk in there and leave with a plant that will become a life long friend as well as making new friends with Dustin and his son John. Listen to them and you will never kill a plant again. A Father and Son team of plant masters. Thank You for the jungle you have made my home!
